Schering AG was a research-centered German multinational pharmaceutical company headquartered in Wedding, Berlin, which operated as an independent company from 1851 to 2006. In 2006, it was bought by Bayer AG and merged to form the Bayer subsidiary Bayer Schering Pharma AG, which was renamed Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals in 2011. Schering was listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and had 26,000 employees as of 2004. The American pharmaceutical company Schering-Plough, formerly the Schering Corporation, was originally the US subsidiary of Schering AG, and merged with Merck & Co. in 2009.

The Panke is a small river in Brandenburg and Berlin, a right tributary of the Spree, originating from the Barnim plateau. It has a length of 29 km, of which 20,2 are within the area of Berlin. Consequently, the Panke is the third longest river in the city after the Spree and the Havel. Several areas in Berlin and Brandenburg are named after the Panke, including Pankow and Panketal.

Berlin-Wedding is a station in the Wedding locality of Berlin and serves the S-Bahn lines and and the U-Bahn line .

The Prime Time Theater is a modern Volkstheater ("People's Theater") in Berlin’s Wedding district. The name of the theater derives from the fact that the time the play starts marks the beginning of prime time.

The Berlin-Spandau Ship Canal, or Berlin-Spandauer Schifffahrtskanal in German, is a canal in Berlin, Germany. It was built between 1848 and 1859 to a plan created by Peter Joseph Lenné, and was formerly known as the Hohenzollern Canal or Hohenzollernkanal. The 12.2-kilometre (7.6 mi) long canal links the River Havel north of Spandau to the River Spree near the Hauptbahnhof in Berlin. Because it joins the River Havel upstream of the river lock at Spandau, it provides a more direct route from the River Spree to the Oder–Havel Canal.The Westhafen, Berlin's largest port with an area of 173,000 m² (42.75 acres), lies on the Berlin-Spandau Ship Canal some 4 kilometres (2.5 mi) from its eastern (River Spree) end. The Westhafen Canal and Charlottenburg Canal also connect the port to the River Spree further downstream in Charlottenburg.On August 26, 2013, author Wolfgang Herrndorf committed suicide by gunshot to the head on the banks of the canal following a long illness.

Robert Paul Theodor von Kosch (5 April 1856 in Glatz (Kłodzko), Prussian Silesia – 22 December 1942) was a Prussian General of the Infantry during World War I.

The Invalids' Cemetery (German: Invalidenfriedhof) is one of the oldest cemeteries in Berlin. It was the traditional resting place of the Prussian Army, and is regarded as particularly important as a memorial to the German Wars of Liberation of 1813–15.

St. Joseph is a Catholic church and former parish in Berlin-Wedding, Germany, built from 1907 to 1909 to a design by Wilhelm Rincklake, revised by Wilhelm Frydag in Romanesque revival style. It seats 3000 people. Since 2018 the church has served as an interim cathedral while the St.-Hedwigs-Kathedrale is restored.

The Supreme Court of the German Democratic Republic (German: Oberstes Gericht der DDR) was the highest judicial organ of the GDR. It was set up in 1949 and was housed on Scharnhorststraße 6 in Berlin. The building now houses the district court in Berlin, Germany 2 Instance and the District Court Berlin-Mitte. In the early days, 14 judges made up the court.

The Headquarters of the Federal Intelligence Service or the BND Headquarters (German: Zentrale des Bundesnachrichtendienstes, colloquially the BND-Zentrale) is the headquarters of the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) of Germany, and is located at the Chausseestraße in the Mitte district in the centre of Berlin. It is also known colloquially by the metonym Chausseestraße. Established during the early Cold War, the Federal Intelligence Service is the second largest intelligence agency in the Western world, second only to its close partner, the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States. The building that houses its headquarters is the world's largest intelligence building, somewhat larger than the CIA headquarters at Langley.

Stadion der Weltjugend was a multi-use stadium in the locality of Mitte in the eponymous borough of Mitte in Berlin, Germany. It was inaguruated on 20 May 1950 by the First Secretary of the Socialist Unity Party, Walter Ulbricht for the first "Deutschlandtreffen ("German Festival") of the Free German Youth. The stadium was initially named after Walter Ulbricht. The Walter-Ulbricht-Stadion had a capacity of 70,000 spectators and was complemented by several further football pitches, tennis courts and athletic fields. It was the largest stadium in East Germany at its opening. The stadium was a site of the 3rd World Festival of Youth and Students in 1951. The stadium was rebuilt for the 10th World Festival of Youth and Students in 1973. The renovations included the installation of seating, which reduced the capacity to 50,000. The rebuilt stadium was then also renamed to Stadion der Weltjugend ("Stadium of the World Youth"). The Walter Ulbricht-Stadion was the home ground of the football team of SC Dynamo Berlin until 1961. It was also the venue for the FDGB-Pokal (East German cup) final in 1951 and from 1975 to 1989. The East Germany national football team played 13 times at the stadium. The stadium was used for all matches in the derby between BFC Dynamo and 1. FC Union Berlin for security reasons from 1976 to 1989. The stadium was bordered by the Chausseestraße on the east, by the Habersaathstraße (known as Kesselstraße until 1951) on the south and residential areas on Scharnhorststraße and Boyenstraße on the north and west respectively. The Scharnhorststraße heating plant (German: Heizwerk Scharnhorststraße) (de) with its 150-meter chimney was located right next to the western curve of the stadium. The stadium was initially served by the Schwartzkopffstraße U-Bahn stadion. The station was renamed Walter-Ulbricht-Stadion after the stadium in 1951. The Walter-Ulbricht-Stadion U-bahn station was closed after the construction of the Berlin wall in 1961. The station was renamed Stadion der Weltjugend after the stadium was renamed in 1973. The stadium was demolished in 1992 in preparation for the construction of a new arena for the 2000 Summer Olympics. As Berlin failed in the bidding process, the area remained abandoned. The construction of the new headquarters of the Federal Intelligence Service began on the site in 2006.
