Sørenga is a neighborhood in Gamlebyen in Oslo, Norway. It is located east of Bjørvika, west of Vannspeilet, south of the street Bispegata and Oslo torg, and west and north of the Alna River. South of the area the Sørengautstikkeren runs out into the Oslo Fjord.

St. Clement's Church (Clemenskirken i Oslo) was one of the Roman Catholic parish churches of Oslo, Norway. Ruins of St. Clement's Church are now exposed and included as part of Middelalderparken in the inner city of Oslo (Gamlebyen). It was located between the former Klemetsallmenningen and Østre strede. It is south of the ruins of Oslo Kongsgård estate and St. Hallvard's Cathedral.

The Oslo Kongsgård estate (Norwegian: Oslo kongsgård) was a royal residence and fortified Kongsgård estate located in the Oslo, Norway. The ruins of the former estate and its buildings can today been seen in Middelalderparken in the Old Town of Oslo.

St. Mary's Church (Norwegian: Mariakirken i Oslo) was a medieval church located in Oslo, Norway. The church ruins are located in Middelalderparken near the neighborhood of Sørenga in the borough of Gamlebyen.

The Medieval Park (Norwegian: Middelalderparken) is located in the borough of Gamle Oslo in Oslo, Norway. The park was opened in the year 2000 at Sørenga in what was once the southern part of the medieval city of Oslo. The park is located within an area which also included the Minneparken and Ladegården on the north side of Bispegata. Development in the area is prohibited due to ruins and cultural layers above and below ground. In the park are the ruins of St. Clement's Church, St. Mary's Church and the former royal estate (Oslo Kongsgård). In the west the shore line meets the park's land area approximately where Oslofjord met Oslo during the Middle Ages (about year 1300). The part of the park located at the lake is 43 acres in addition to the water on 22 acres. Park facility at the ruins of St. Clement's Church are also considered for the park and this area is 4.7 acres, of the park that total is 70 acres.Oslo Middelalderfestival and Øyafestivalen were annual events located in the park. From 2014, the event was moved to Tøyenparken. In 2014, Oslo Middelalderfestival was located at Akershus Castle.

The Old Bishop's Palace in Oslo (Oslo Bispeborg) was the residence of the Roman Catholic bishops of Oslo. The estate is located in what is now called Gamlebyen (old town) in Oslo, Norway. Various remnants of the medieval bishop's original palace are still visible.

Oslo Ladegård is a manor house situated at Gamlebyen in Oslo, Norway. It was built of the site of the Old Bishop's Palace in Oslo. The current building was erected in 1725 by Karen Toller. The architectural style is classic baroque, with a high, hipped roof and a symmetrical ground plan. The hall in the cellar dates from the Old Bishop's Palace of the 13th century. The property was expropriated by the government for railway purposes in 1894, and in 1956 it transferred to the City of Oslo. The manor house is used as a museum and concert hall. The estate garden, which went almost down to the seafront during the late 1700s, was reconstructed and reopened in 1999 on the basis of a pattern from 1779. The name comes from this area being used for unloading ships with supplies for Akershus fortress after the founding of Christiania, (now Oslo). The word "lade" means to load in this context.

Munkegata was a tram stop on the Gamleby Line of the Oslo Tramway. It is located at the intersection of Oslo gate and Schweigaards gate in Gamlebyen, Oslo, Norway. The station opened on 6 October 1875 as part of the Gamleby Line extension to Oslo Hospital by Kristiania Sporveisselskab. The station was served by lines 18 and 19, which used both SL79 and SL95 trams. It was close on late 2020.

St Halvards plass was a tram stop on the Gamleby Line of the Oslo Tramway. It was located at the square St Halvards plass, on the intersection of Oslo gate and Bispegata in Gamlebyen, Oslo, Norway. Aker was a former independent municipality in Akershus, Norway, that constitutes the vast majority of the territory of the modern city of Oslo. The name originally belonged to a farm which was located near the current Old Aker Church. The church in turn became the source of the name of the parish and later municipality as well as Akershus Fortress, the main fief and main county of Akershus which included most of Eastern Norway until 1919, the smaller county of Akershus, and numerous institutions within this area. Aker municipality was in terms of population by far the largest municipality of Akershus county and surrounded the capital city of Christiania (renamed Oslo in 1925) until 1948; Aker was 27 times larger than the capital it surrounded. In the late 19th century Aker ceded some of its territory to Christiania, and in 1948 Aker merged completely with Oslo municipality to create the modern, vastly enlarged Oslo municipality. The merger was unpopular in Aker, which at the time was an affluent suburban community. The Aker name remains in use in two districts of Oslo, Vestre Aker and Nordre Aker, which are only a small part of former Aker municipality.

The Old Town of Oslo (Norwegian: Gamlebyen, pronounced [ˈɡɑ̂mɽəbʏn] (listen)) is a neighbourhood in the inner city of Oslo, Norway, belonging to the borough of Gamle Oslo and is the oldest urban area within the current capital. This part of the capital of Norway was simply called Oslo until 1925 while the city as a whole was called Kristiania. Oslo's old town was established with the urban structure around the year 1000 and was the capital of Norway's dominion in 1314. The main Old Town area (i.e. the southern and central parts of Old Town) has several ruins of stone and brick lying above ground, and large amounts of protected culture underground. The core area also has listed 1700s buildings. Towards Ekeberg slope and further up are some 17th and 18th-century wooden houses that are zoned for conservation under the Planning and Building Act, though there exist in the Old Town many four-storey brick houses, built at the end of the 1800s, and some heritage railway buildings from different eras.

The Barcode Project is a section of the Bjørvika portion of the Fjord City redevelopment on former dock and industrial land in central Oslo. It consists of a row of new multi-purpose high-rise buildings, that was completed in 2016. The developer is marketing the project as "The Opera Quarter." There has been intense public debate about the height and shape of the buildings.
