Cathedral of Saint Francis de Sales in Oakland was an 1893 church, which served as the cathedral of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland in Oakland, California from 1962 until it was damaged in the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake.

McClymonds Educational Complex was the collective name of the two small high schools occupying the building of McClymonds High School, operated by the Oakland Unified School District from August 2005 to 2010. As of 2010, the complex has returned to being a single high school, McClymonds High School.

McClymonds High School is a public high school in the West Oakland neighborhood of Oakland, California, United States. In addition to being the third oldest high school in Oakland, it is the only comprehensive high school in West Oakland, operated by the Oakland Unified School District.

It is located roughly between West Grand Avenue to the north, Interstate 980 to the west, City Center and 14th Street to the south, and Broadway to the east. Mary’s First and Last Chance (c. 1948 – 1956) was a lesbian and gay bar located at 2278 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, California, U.S.. It was once the focus of the 1950s California Supreme Court lawsuit Vallerga v. Dept. Alcoholic Bev. Control, when the bar challenged a state law for the right to serve gay patrons and won in 1959.The bar was opened in c. 1948 by Mary Azar, and her brother-in-law, Albert L. Vallerga. Mary’s First and Last Chance liquor license suspended several times and ultimately revoked in 1956 based on a discriminatory 1955 California state law, and after undercover officers posed as patrons. In December 1959, the court sided with Azar and Vallerga and reversed the revocation, and in a historic decision, the 1955 law was declared unconstitutional.

The Reliance Athletic Club was an athletic club and gentlemen's club founded in 1885 in Oakland, California, United States. Founded in 1885, the organization grew rapidly as it added other sports and social activities, reaching its peak in the mid-1890s before financial troubles led to its bankruptcy and disestablishment in 1910.

Oakland School for the Arts (OSA) is a visual and performing arts charter school in Oakland, California, United States. OSA opened in 2002 with a curriculum that integrated college preparatory academics with conservatory-style arts training. As of 2017, enrollment was 725 students in grades 6 through 12. It is a member of the Arts Schools Network and the National Association for College Admission Counseling. In 2009, OSA was named a California Distinguished School. The school is located in the Fox Oakland Theatre building at 530 18th Street at Telegraph Avenue in Uptown Oakland.

Alameda County Building and Loan Association Building, also known as Hotel Wagner; Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Science building, the Wagner Apartments is a historical building in Oakland, California. The 1601-1605 Clay Street building was built in 1907. The building was listed to the National Register of Historic Places on April 12, 2016. Alameda County Building and Loan Association Building was designed by Harry Cunningham and Matthew Politeo with a steel-framed, clad in stucco and brick. The Alameda County Building and Loan Association Building is a five-story-over-basement. The architecture is mix of Beaux-Arts and Art Nouveau in the Oakland financial district. Alameda County Building and Loan Association Building on a rectangular corner lot. The building was built just after the 1906 San Francisco earthquake. Alameda County Building and Loan Association Building was sold to L.H. Wagner in 1926. Wagner opened the Hotel Wagner with commercial spaces on the ground flour. In 1952 the building was sold to H.G. Getz, who keep the Hotel Wagner name. In 1984 the building was sold to Dr. Wei Tsuei, educator of traditional Chinese medicine. Tsuei opened the non-profit Taoist Center in Oakland and the Academy of Chinese Culture and Health Science in the former Hotel Wagner. In 1987, Tsuei converted the former Hotel Wagner into apartments, with some rooms still used for Chinese medicine Academy. In 2014 the Chinese medicine Academy closed and the building is only an apartments now.

The Elihu M. Harris State Office Building is a high-rise located in downtown Oakland, California. It has 22 stories and stands at 328 feet (100 m) tall. The building is named for Elihu Harris, a former mayor of Oakland who is still living.

The Fox Oakland Theatre is a 2,800-seat concert hall, a former movie theater, located at 1807 Telegraph Avenue in Downtown Oakland. It originally opened in 1928, running films until 1970. Designed by Weeks and Day, the theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was refurbished in the 2000s and reopened as a concert venue on February 5, 2009.

The First Unitarian Church of Oakland is located in western Downtown Oakland, California. It is a member of the Unitarian Universalist Association.

The I. Magnin Building is a former I. Magnin department store in Oakland, California located at 2001 Broadway. It was built in 1931 and designed by architecture firm Weeks and Day. It housed the upscale department store until it closed in 1995. The building's green terra-cotta facade and art deco ornamentation make it a prominent landmark and a local visitor attraction in the Uptown neighborhood.The building's interior was completely renovated in 2000, and it now houses retail and office businesses. It had more than 92% occupancy as of 2013. In 2016, Athen B Gallery arranged for Jet Martinez to paint a mural on the windowless rear wall of the building. Martinez painted lilies inspired by Mexican folk art.
