Innichen

Innichen Abbey (German: Stift Innichen) is a former Benedictine monastery in Innichen, South Tyrol in northern Italy. Founded in the 8th century, its collegiate church dedicated to Saint Candidus, rebuilt in the 12th–13th centuries, is considered the most important Romanesque building in Tyrol and the Eastern Alps. It is home to a 13th-century sculpture and a fresco cycle from the same age in the dome.

Innichen station (Italian: stazione di San Candido) is a railway station located in Innichen (San Candido), Italy where the Puster Valley Railway and the Drava Valley Railway meet in eastern South Tyrol. It is the border station between Italy and Austria.

The Hochpustertal (High Puster Valley, Italian: Alta Pusteria) is the easternmost part of the Puster Valley, stretching from the watershed of the Rienz and Drava rivers at Niederdorf in South Tyrol down the Drava to Lienz in East Tyrol, Austria. The area includes the Sexten and Prags side valleys. According to the 1915 London Pact and the 1919 Treaty of Saint-Germain-en-Laye, the Italian-Austrian border was drawn between Innichen (San Candido) and Sillian. As the Rienz-Drava watershed near Toblach (called Toblacher Feld or Sella di Dobbiaco) is a rarely notable transition, the natural western boundaries of the Hochpustertal vary. Usually, in the valley the following municipalities are included: Niederdorf, Sexten, Prags, Toblach, and Innichen in South Tyrol, Sillian, Strassen, Abfaltersbach, Assling, and Leisach in East Tyrol.

Toblach (German: [ˈtoːblax]; Italian: Dobbiaco [dobˈbjaːko]) is a comune/Gemeinde (municipality) in South Tyrol in Northern Italy, located in the Puster Valley about 70 kilometres (43 mi) northeast of the city of Bolzano, on the border with Austria.

The Puster Valley (Italian: Val Pusteria [ˈval pusteˈriːa]; German: Pustertal, Ladin: Val de Puster) is one of the largest longitudinal valleys in the Alps that runs in an east-west direction between Lienz in East Tyrol, Austria, and Mühlbach near Brixen in South Tyrol, Italy. The South Tyrolean municipalities of the Puster Valley constitute the Puster Valley district.

The Höhlensteintal (Italian: Val di Landro; German: Höhlensteintal) is a side valley of the Puster Valley in South Tyrol, Italy.

The Dreischusterspitze (Italian: Punta dei Tre Scarperi) is a mountain of the Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. It is the highest peak of the Sexten Dolomites and the most northerly 3,000m peak of the range. From the north it resembles a majestic pyramid, while from the east and west it resembles a jagged ridge. The mountain is located above the village of Sexten. It was first climbed in 1869 by Paul Grohmann, Franz Innerkofler and Peter Salcher. Huts in the area are the Dreischusterhütte (Rifugio Tre Scarperi, 1653 m) in the Innerfeldtal as well as the Talschlusshütte (Rifugio al Fondo Valle, 1548 m) in the Fischlein Valley and the Dreizinnenhütte (Rifugio Locatelli, 2405 m) in the south of the Schusterplatte.

The Gustav Mahler Stube, formerly Trenkenhof, is a farmhouse in Altschluderbach, near Toblach in South Tyrol, Italy. It has a restaurant with a Tyrolean cuisine and two apartments. The Stube furthermore manages an animal park with domestic, wild and exotic animals. The farmhouse is especially known as the former residence of the Austrian composer Gustav Mahler (1860-1911), who stayed here from 1908 to 1910. The first floor was a museum on his life and work. His composing hut is located in the park and is still equipped as a small museum and memorial.

The Dürrestein Formation is a Carnian geologic formation in Italy. Fossil prosauropod tracks have been reported from the formation.
