Welschnofen

The Tierser Tal (also German: Tiersertal; Italian: Val di Tires [ˈval di ˈtiːres]) is a side valley of the Eisacktal in South Tyrol, Italy.

Obereggen is a mountain village in South Tyrol, northern Italy. It is situated at the foot of the Latemar and known as a ski resort. Obereggen is part of the frazione St. Nikolaus/Eggen of the comune (municipality) of Deutschnofen.

The Karerpass (Italian: Passo di Costalunga; Ladin: Jouf de Ciareja; German: Karerpass) (1745 m) is a high mountain pass in the province of South Tyrol in Italy. It connects Bolzano through the Eggental and the Welschnofen Valley with the Fassa Valley. Just below the pass on the Welschnofen Valley side is the Karersee lake. It is connected to the Tierser Tal by the Nigerpass.

The Latemar is a mountain in the Dolomites on the border between South Tyrol and Trentino, Italy. It is a popular hiking destination. It is best known for its view from the Karersee lake.

The Schlern (German pronunciation: [ʃlɛrn]; Italian: Sciliar [ʃiˈljar]; Ladin: Sciliër; 2,563 m) is a mountain of the Dolomites in South Tyrol, Italy. The peak at the north west end of the mountain (left, in the image at right) was first ascended in July 1880 by Johann Santner. It is named the Santner Spitze in his honour. The Schlern dominates the villages of Seis am Schlern and Völs am Schlern, and the summit can be reached following the circular route marked with the number 1 from both villages. At 1,700 metres (5,577 ft), there is the Schlernboden inn and on the summit plateau is the Schlernhaus inn 2,457 metres (8,061 ft), both open from 1 June to 15 October. The highest summit is the Petz with 2,564 metres (8,412 ft). The Schlern is sung of in the Bozner Bergsteigerlied as one of South Tyrol's landmarks. Its characteristic profile appears on the Der Schlern - Zeitschrift für Südtiroler Landeskunde (Magazine for South Tyrolean Regional Studies) and the logo pressed into Loacker's wafer biscuits.

The Schlern-Rosengarten Nature Park (Italian: Parco Naturale Sciliar-Catinaccio; German: Naturpark Schlern-Rosengarten) is a nature reserve in South Tyrol, Italy.

Prösels Castle (German: Schloss Prösels; Italian: Castello di Presule) is a castle in the Gothic style which stands on the high plain below the Schlern mountain, in South Tyrol. Prösels is a location within the municipal boundaries of the commune of Völs am Schlern (Fiè allo Sciliar).

Völs am Schlern (German pronunciation: [fœls am ˈʃlɛrn]; Italian: Fiè allo Sciliar [ˈfjɛ allo ʃʃiˈljar]; Ladin: Fíe or Fië), often abbreviated to Völs, is a municipality in South Tyrol in northern Italy. It is located at the foot of the Schlern mountain, about 12 kilometres (7 mi) east of Bolzano.

The Eggental (Italian: Val d'Ega; German: Eggental) is a valley in South Tyrol, Italy.

Seis am Schlern (German pronunciation: [saɪ̯s ʔam ˈʃlɛrn]; Italian: Siusi allo Sciliar [ˈsjuːzi ˈallo ʃʃiˈljar]) is an Alpine village in South Tyrol, in the Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol region of northern Italy. It is a frazione of the comune of Kastelruth.

Marcialonga is a cross-country ski race which is arranged for the last Sunday in January in Trentino in Italy. It was first held in 1971 and has been a part of Worldloppet as long as Worldloppet has been around.The run begins in Moena, where the skiers first go further up Fassa Valley and along Canazei, passing Moena on its way alongside Cavalese in the Fiemme Valley. Marcialonga runs in classic style, and is 70 km long, but in 2007, 2015 and 2017, it was shortened to 57 km due to snow problems. In 1975, 1989 and 1990 it was cancelled due to the total lack of snow on the track. A shorter race, Marcialonga light, is 45 km, and goes from Moena to Predazzo. Maria Canins won from 1979 until 1988 10 times the Marcialonga.

The "Giuseppe Dal Ben" Ski Jumping Arena (in Italian: Stadio del salto "Giuseppe Dal Ben") is a ski jumping venue in Predazzo, Val di Fiemme, Trentino, in northern Italy. It is a venue in the FIS Ski jumping World Cup. Opened in 1989, the venue hosted the ski jumping and nordic combined events of three editions of FIS Nordic World Ski Championships (1991, 2003, 2013), of 2013 Winter Universiade, as well as many events of the Ski jumping World Cup. It will host ski jumping and nordic combined for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.
