Sutter Island

Paintersville is an unincorporated community in Sacramento County, California, United States. Paintersville is located along the Sacramento River and California State Route 160 less than 1 mile (1.6 km) south-southwest of Courtland. The community is named after Levi Painter, who laid out lots in the community in 1879.

Courtland has a post office with ZIP code 95615, which was established in 1872. Courtland was named after Courtland Sims, son of James V. Sims, a landowner who opened a steamer landing in the community in 1870.

Randall Island (formerly Hensley Island) is an island in the Sacramento River, in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. It is part of Sacramento County, California, and managed by Reclamation District 755. Its coordinates are 38°20′25″N 121°33′03″W, and the United States Geological Survey measured its elevation as 0 ft (0 m) in 1981. It is shown, labelled "Hensley Island", on an 1850 survey map of the San Francisco Bay area made by Cadwalader Ringgold and an 1854 map of the area by Henry Lange.

KCSO-LD (channel 33) is a low-power television station in Sacramento, California, United States, serving as the local outlet for the Spanish-language network Telemundo. Owned and operated by NBCUniversal's Telemundo Station Group, KCSO-LD maintains studios on Media Place in the Woodlake neighborhood of Sacramento, and its transmitter is located in Walnut Grove, California. The station is also sister to regional sports networks NBC Sports Bay Area and NBC Sports California. Due to its low-power status, KCSO-LD simulcasts in high definition on Ion Television outlet KSPX-TV (channel 29) on a subchannel displayed as channel 33.2 and in widescreen standard definition on independent station KMAX-TV (channel 31) on subchannel 31.7. KCSO-LD also operates Class A translator station KMUM-CD in Sacramento and also relies on cable and satellite to reach the entire market. KCSO formerly operated translator KMMW-LD in Stockton; this station ceased operations in March 2025 and its license was returned to the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).

KXPR (88.9 FM) is a non-commercial radio station licensed to Sacramento, California, United States, airing a classical music format. Along with sister station KXJZ 90.9 FM, they are known as Capital Public Radio or "CapRadio." Both stations are owned by California State University, Sacramento (Sacramento State), and share studios along Folsom Boulevard on campus. KXPR's transmitter is sited on Eagles Nest Road at Florin Road in Rancho Cordova. Programming is simulcast on 91.7 KXSR in Groveland-Sonora and on 88.7 KXJS in Sutter-Yuba City. While KXPR broadcasts using HD Radio technology, it has no HD2 or HD3 digital subchannels.

Delta Meadows River Park (DMRP) is a state park property of California, United States, preserving an undeveloped piece of the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. At present it is open to the public for walking, fishing and boating but has no visitor services. The park encompasses sloughs, wet meadows, and an island between the Sacramento and Mokelumne Rivers. It is located near the historic Chinese American town of Locke, 28 miles (45 km) equidistant from Sacramento and Stockton. The 472-acre (191 ha) property was established in 1985. Delta Meadows preserves a river delta much as it appeared 150 years ago, crowded with stands of oak, tule, walnut, willow, and cottonwood. Abundant wildlife includes black-tailed deer, beavers, river otters, muskrats, and wetland birds such as great blue herons, wood ducks, mallards, belted kingfishers, and cormorants. Delta Meadows is primarily accessible by boat. However one can drive onto Railroad Slough Levee from the River Road between Walnut Grove and Locke, via a small gravel road just north-east of the cross channel. Previously a docent program through the Delta Natural History Association provided canoe guides in the spring and fall, reserved through Brannan Island State Recreation Area.

Hood is a census-designated place in Sacramento County, California, United States. Hood is located on the Sacramento River and California State Route 160 15 miles (24 km) south of downtown Sacramento. Hood has a post office with ZIP code 95639 that was established in 1912. The community was named in 1910 after William Hood, chief engineer of the Southern Pacific Railroad. The population was 271 at the 2010 census.

Merritt Island is an American Viticultural Area (AVA) located in Yolo County, California It is an island landform in the Sacramento River Delta lying only six miles (9.7 km) south of the state capital of Sacramento,. The 5,000-acre (8 sq mi) wine appellation was established as the nation's 27th, the state's 23rd and the county's initial AVA on May 17, 1983, by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Treasury after reviewing the petition submitted by Mr. Chris Bogle of Bogle Vineyards, Incorporated, on behalf of himself, proposing the viticultural area within Yolo County to be known as "Merritt Island." The island, approximately 6 miles (9.7 km) long from north to south and only 1.6 miles (2.6 km) at its widest point, is surrounded by Elk Slough, Sutter Slough, and the Sacramento River with a maritime climate of cool breezes and fog arriving from the nearby San Francisco Bay. Its soil is a very fertile and rich loam yielding grapes used in blends with fruit from other parts of the state. Merritt Island was administered under Reclamation District 150. The plant hardiness zone is 9b. In January 1984, Merritt Island viticultural area became a sub-appellation within the 16-mile-long (26 km) by 8-mile-wide (13 km), 64,640 acres (101 sq mi) Clarksburg AVA that spanned across portions of Sacramento, Solano and Yolo Counties.

The Rosebud Ranch is a historic ranch on the National Register of Historic Places located near Hood, California, south of Sacramento. Built c. 1877 by William Johnston, the property reportedly stretched over two miles of the Sacramento River front and encompassed 1,200 acres (490 ha). Johnston used his property to grow vegetables, fruit, grain, as well as use for grazing and as a dairy farm.In recent years the home has held public tours led by the Elk Grove Historical Society.

The Stone Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, located south of Sacramento, California, lies within the Sacramento-San Joaquin delta, the destination of thousands of migrating waterfowl, shorebirds, and other water birds. The refuge was established in 1994.

Delta High School is a four-year public high school in Clarksburg, California, United States. It is part of the River Delta Unified School District. It is co-located in the same facility and shares a principal with Clarksburg Middle School. The combined enrollment for both schools is approximately 460 as of 2022.
