Bredon

Bredon Barn is a large 14th-century threshing barn located at Bredon, Worcestershire, England, standing close to the River Avon.The barn was built for the Bishops of Worcester, who were the lords of the manor, from local Cotswold stone, measuring approximately 40 by 12 metres (131 by 39 ft). It has a steep pitched roof covered in Cotswold limestone tiles. The interior of the barn is divided into 9 bays by oak posts on stone plinths forming aisles, and carrying the open timber roof.It was badly damaged by fire in 1979, but was fully restored in 1983. It is a Scheduled monument and Grade I listed building owned by the National Trust.

Upham Meadow and Summer Leasow (grid reference SO917375) is a 104.0-hectare (257-acre) biological Site of Special Scientific Interest on the border between Gloucestershire and Herefordshire & Worcestershire, at Twyning and near Bredon, notified in 1991.

Bredon railway station was on the Birmingham–Gloucester railway line to the north of Ashchurch for Tewkesbury railway station. The station closed in 1965.

Bredon's Norton or Norton-by-Bredon is a village and civil parish 11 miles (18 km) south east of Worcester, in the Wychavon district, in the county of Worcestershire, England. In 2021 the parish had a population of 254. The parish touches Eckington, Bredon, Strensham and Kemerton.

Northway is a village and civil parish in Gloucestershire, England, 2 miles north-east of Tewkesbury, and is in effect a suburb of that town. The parish is bordered on the west side by the M5 motorway, on the east by the Birmingham to Bristol main railway line, on the south by the A46 road and on the north by the boundary with Worcestershire.

Twyning is a village and civil parish on the River Avon in the north of Gloucestershire, near Tewkesbury, England. The parish is first mentioned in the Liber Wigorniensis in about 1016, where it is called Tuinaeum, part of Gretestane in the county of Winchcombeshire and then mentioned in Domesday Book, described as "Tu(e)ninge, Kings Land : Winchcombe Abbey." The name derives from the Old English for "between the rivers"; despite its spelling, it is pronounced "twinning". The parish forms a land 'isthmus' into the county of Worcestershire. The village is divided into two main parts, the older "Churchend", and "Twyning Green". In addition, within the parish are the hamlets of Shuthonger which straddles the A38, Woodend, Hillend and Stratford Bridge on the border with Worcestershire. It has two pubs, The Fleet at Twyning by the river and the Village Inn overlooking the village green. Boats have traditionally ferried people up the river Avon from Tewkesbury to enjoy the Fleet's hospitality. The service operates during summer months. The parish contains large amounts of common land including Brockeridge Common, and extensive meadows bordering the River Avon. There is also a Spar shop which houses a post office, and a primary school of approximately 150 pupils. There are still a number of original black and white Tudor houses. There is recreation complex called TRAC, that contains a park, three tennis courts, a 5-a-side football pitch and a pavilion. The village is fortunate to escape the floods that regularly blight this area, as it is situated on a slope up from the river. However, some properties (especially the riverside Fleet Inn) were affected in the great flood of 2007. The village is surrounded by fishing lakes and various places on the river for anglers.

Ashchurch for Tewkesbury is a railway station serving the medieval market town of Tewkesbury and the village of Ashchurch in Gloucestershire, England. The station is located less than 1⁄4 mile (400 m) from junction 9 of the M5 motorway and located on the main Bristol–Birmingham main line 7+1⁄4 miles (11.7 km) north of Cheltenham Spa and was opened on 1 June 1997 by Railtrack. There are regular bus connections from the station to Tewkesbury town centre, Gloucester Transport Hub and Cheltenham.

Ashchurch is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Ashchurch Rural, in the Tewkesbury district, in the county of Gloucestershire, England, 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the town of Tewkesbury, 11 mi (18 km) southwest of Evesham, 10 mi (16 km) north of Cheltenham, 13 mi (21 km) north-north-east of Gloucester and 10 mi (16 km) south of Pershore.

Kemerton Court is the principal manor house of the village of Kemerton, near Tewkesbury in Gloucestershire. The house is built of local Cotswold stone, dating from the late 16th century onwards. In the early 18th century a 9-bay baroque façade of some elegance was added by the squire, John Parsons III (1649–1722). Thomas White of Worcester and the Smiths of Warwick have been variously suggested as the architects. It is a Grade II* listed building.Kemerton Court is set in parkland and is surrounded by a farming estate of around 1,300 acres (5.3 km2). It is owned by conservationist Adrian Darby, president of Plantlife and former chairman of the RSPB. He is married to Lady Meriel Darby, daughter of the former Prime Minister, Alec Douglas-Home, 14th Earl of Home, who was a frequent visitor to the Court.

Alderman Knight School is a mixed special school located in Tewkesbury in the English county of Gloucestershire.The school is named after Cameron Knight, a former Mayor of Tewkesbury.It is a community school administered by Gloucestershire County Council, and accepts pupils aged four to sixteen from mainly the Tewkesbury and North Cotswolds area but from other areas as the need arises.Admissions to the school are for pupils with moderate learning difficulties, complex needs and autistic spectrum disorders.Despite plans from the county council to close the school between 2004 and 2006, the school remained open and has received three ratings of "Outstanding" from Ofsted.

Strensham is a village in the Wychavon district of Worcestershire. In the 2001 census, the civil parish of Strensham had a population of 314 across 127 households. Since 1991, the population has risen 28.7% from 244 residents.

Strensham services is a motorway service station on the M5 in Worcestershire, England. It is operated by Roadchef. In August 2011, it was rated as 4 stars (southbound) and 3 stars (northbound) by quality assessors at Visit England.Unusually for a motorway service station, the two sites are about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) apart due to the proximity of junction 8 (for the M50 motorway). The services opened with the motorway in 1962 and have undergone many developments over time, largely due to the evolution of the motorway, which at the time of its opening ran from Birmingham to Strensham but now runs to Exeter some 100 miles (160 km) southwards. It was the first service station on the M5. The service station is also an operational base for the Midlands Air Ambulance.
