Bowden Hill is a village in Wiltshire, England, in Lacock parish about 3+1⁄2 miles (6 km) south of Chippenham and 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) to the east of Lacock village. Bowden Hill has about 50 houses, a pub, and a small industrial estate.

Sandy Lane is a small village in Wiltshire, England, about 4.5 miles (7 km) south-east of Chippenham and 3 miles (5 km) south-west of Calne. It lies on the A342 Chippenham-Devizes road, just north of its junction with the A3102 to Calne.

Bromham is a village and civil parish in Wiltshire, England. The village is 3+1⁄2 miles (6 km) northwest of Devizes and the same distance east of Melksham. Besides the main village of Bromham, the parish includes six other settlements: St Edith's Marsh, Westbrook, Hawkstreet, Netherstreet, Roughmoor and Chittoe. These are sub-villages and hamlets all within 2 miles (3.2 km) of the main village centre, thus 'greater Bromham' is geographically extensive for a village of its size. It stands 1½ miles north of the Kennet and Avon Canal and 1¾ of a mile south of the Roman road leading to Bath, Somerset.

Bewley Common is a hamlet in Wiltshire, England. It lies in the civil parish of Lacock, west of Bowden Hill and about 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Lacock village. Bewley Court is a Grade I listed manor house from the 14th century or early 15th. The house was restored and extended c. 1920 to designs by Harold Brakspear, and was the home of interior designer Oliver Ford until his death in 1992.

Derry Hill is a village in the English county of Wiltshire, in the civil parish of Calne Without. It has an elevated position at the northern edge of the Bowood House estate, about 3 miles (5 km) south-east of the centre of the town of Chippenham.

Pewsham is a small village and former civil parish just south-east of the town of Chippenham on the A4 national route towards Calne in Wiltshire, southwestern England.

Sandridge is a dispersed rural community to the east of Melksham, Wiltshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Melksham Without. An Ordnance Survey map of 1961 names a settlement at Sandridge Hill, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) east of Melksham, and a hamlet of Sandridge, 0.25 miles (0.4 km) to the north; as of 2015 these names are no longer in gazetteers and Sandridge refers to a wider area along the A3102, with Sandridge Common identified on road signs near Melksham. A National School was built in 1873 at Sandridge Common, on land given by Ralph Ludlow Lopes and educated children of all ages until 1953; around that time it became known as Forest and Sandridge Church of England Primary School. In 2015, to cater for the eastward expansion of Melksham, the school moved to a new building on the outskirts of the town.

The Cocklemore Brook is a short tributary of the Bristol Avon, some 2.5 miles (4.0 km) long. It rises near Studley in Wiltshire, England, and flows in a north and then westerly direction, draining the Pewsham area before passing underneath the former Wilts & Berks Canal and then joining the Bristol Avon near Lackham House, now home to Lackham College. An alternate name of Pewe Brook is recorded in the 14th century.

Whetham is a former manor in Calne Without parish, Wiltshire, England. No settlement remains beyond a farm, a few cottages and a country house called Whetham House.

Bowood is a Grade I listed Georgian country house in Wiltshire, England, that has been owned for more than 250 years by the Fitzmaurice family. The house, with interiors by Robert Adam, stands in extensive grounds which include a garden designed by Lancelot "Capability" Brown. It is adjacent to the village of Derry Hill, halfway between Calne and Chippenham. The greater part of the house was demolished in 1956. Since 1754 the estate has been the seat of the Earls of Shelburne, created Marquess of Lansdowne in 1784. The ninth and present Marquess is Charles Petty-Fitzmaurice. Notable guests have included Benjamin Franklin and Mirabeau, an early leader of the French Revolution, among others.

Studley is a small village in the county of Wiltshire, England, belonging to the civil parish of Calne Without.

Melksham Without is a civil parish in the county of Wiltshire, England. It surrounds, but does not include, the town of Melksham and is the largest rural parish in Wiltshire, with a population of 7,230 (as of 2011) and an area of 29 square kilometres (7,200 acres). In 1894 the ancient parish of Melksham was divided into Melksham Urban District and the rural parish of Melksham Without. The northern boundary of the parish is the Roman road from Silchester to Bath; downstream from Melksham the Bristol Avon forms the southwestern boundary, and parts of the southern boundary are the Semington Brook and the Kennet and Avon Canal. The parish includes the villages of Beanacre, Berryfield, Shaw and Whitley, and the hamlets of Outmarsh and Redstocks. It also includes the outer Melksham suburbs of Bowerhill and The Spa, and the dispersed settlement of Sandridge which includes Sandridge Common.
