Benton End

The East Anglian School of Painting and Drawing was an art learning environment established by Cedric Morris and Arthur Lett-Haines in East Anglia in 1937. It was run on very idiosyncratic lines based upon the "free rein" approach that was then current in French academies. It had a great influence on many Suffolk artists and made an important contribution to art teaching in the east of England for forty years.

Layham is a small village and a civil parish in southern Suffolk, England, situated between the town of Hadleigh and the neighbouring village of Raydon. The civil parish contains the villages of Upper Layham and Lower Layham, separated by the River Brett. It is part of the Babergh district and falls within the South Suffolk parliamentary constituency. It has a church, St Andrews, and a public house, The Queen's Head, which are both situated in Lower Layham. Upper Layham is a village on the B1070 road, in the civil parish of Layham, in the Babergh district, in the county of Suffolk, England. Upper Layham has a post office and a pub. It is located to the east of the smaller village of Lower Layham. However, pedestrians/cyclists travelling from Upper Layham can use the footbridge by Layham Mill to cross the river Brett, and follow the path and lane leading to the Village Hall and St. Andrews Church.

Hadleigh railway station was a station in Hadleigh, Suffolk, the terminus of the Hadleigh Railway, a short branch line from Bentley Junction. The line opened in 1847. The original intermediate stations were at Bentley Church, Capel and Raydon Wood. The terminus had goods sidings on both the south-western and north-eastern sides, the latter serving malt houses and which was also used as a running round loop. There was also a small engine shed.The station building was very ornate, if somewhat dwarfed by the adjacent malt houses, with attractive coupled chimneys and unusual windows with the frame and arch of stone.The decline in passenger numbers using the branch can be seen in the patronage figures, which were 14,447 in 1923 compared to 5,086 just five years later. The line closed to passenger traffic in 1932, although freight services lingered on until 1965. A proposal to extend services by building a light railway between Hadleigh and Long Melford was reported in the Haverhill Echo on 10 March 1900, but that was not done. The station building still stands and is in use as a private residence, with newer dwellings around it. The route to Raydon Wood is accessible as the Hadleigh Railway Walk.

Hadleigh High School is situated on Highlands Road in Hadleigh, Suffolk, England. It is a secondary school with academy status, and has around 760 pupils aged 11 to 16. It has a specialism in science.The school upheld its 'good' rating from Ofsted, following a short inspection in 2019. This has been held since Ofsted's first 'full' inspection in 2012.

It had a population of 8,253 at the 2011 census. The headquarters of Babergh District Council were located in the town until 2017.

St Mary's is an Anglican church in Hadleigh, Suffolk. It is an active parish church in the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich and the archdeaconry of Ipswich. Its earliest parts date from medieval times, the church is a Grade I listed building.

Railway Walk, Hadleigh is an 11.6 hectare Local Nature Reserve which runs for 2 miles along the route of the former Hadleigh railway south-east from Hadleigh in Suffolk. It is owned and managed by Babergh District Council.The walk starts at the original station building in Hadleigh, which is now a private house. The route runs along a relatively level path, some of it on embankment and some in cutting. Most of it is bordered by trees. The path ends at the former Raydon Wood station, the trackbed south from that point not being open to the public. There is parking for about 5 or 6 cars at Raydon Wood, making it possible to walk from there to Hadleigh and return, a 4-mile round trip.
