Fylde South (UK Parliament constituency)

Wrea Green railway station was on the Blackpool South to Kirkham line. It served the village of Wrea Green, in Lancashire, England, and closed in 1961.The station opened in 1846. A single-track line to Lytham branched off the Kirkham-to-Poulton line at right angles, heading south-south-west to Wrea Green. When the line was connected to the Blackpool and Lytham Railway in 1874, the line was doubled and the corner between Kirkham and Wrea Green was cut by a new southwesterly line.

Ribby-with-Wrea is a civil parish just west of Kirkham, in the Borough of Fylde and ceremonial county of Lancashire, England. It had a population of 1,489 in 2001, reducing to 1,373 at the 2011 Census. The parish includes Ribby Hall and the village of Wrea Green. For local government purposes, the parish forms part of Wrea Green with Westby ward. For Westminster elections it is part of the Fylde constituency.

Its benefice is combined with those of St Matthew, Ballam and St Michael, Weeton. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Wrea Green is a village in the Fylde borough of Lancashire, England. It lies about 2 miles west of Kirkham. Along with the village of Ribby, it forms the civil parish Ribby-with-Wrea.Wrea Green has approximately 1,600 residents, many of whom work at the nearby Warton Aerodrome 2 miles away, where BAE Systems is a major local employer. Uniquely for the Fylde Coast, Wrea Green, as described by its name, surrounds a large common land space at one side of which is a duck pond, known locally as 'The Dub'. Wrea Green has won "Lancashire's Best Kept Village" award 15 times - 1959, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1972, 1980, 1986, 1987, 1993, 1996, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2012.

The parish is in Fylde district and contains the hamlets of Great Plumpton, Little Plumpton, Lower Ballam, Higher Ballam, Moss Side, Peel, and Westby. At the 2011 census, the parish had a population of 1,205. Westby and Plumpton are mentioned in the Domesday Book, as "Westbi" and "Pluntun".Westby-with-Plumptons is part of the Warton and Westby ward, represented by three councillors on Fylde Borough Council. On Lancashire County Council it is part of Fylde West ward, which elects one councillor.The parish is generally low-lying, with arable land in the south and pasture in the north, which rises to 100 feet (30 m) above sea level at Great Plumpton in the north-east of the parish.The parish is now the home of the steel farm-building construction company J. Wareing & Son (Wrea Green) Ltd. which was for many years based in the neighbouring village of Wrea Green.

The Borough of Fylde is a local government district with borough status in Lancashire, England. It covers part of the Fylde plain, after which it is named. The council's headquarters are in St Annes. Some council departments, including Planning and an office of the Registrar, were previously located in Wesham, but in 2007 these offices were transferred to the ownership of the NHS North Lancashire Primary Care Trust and have since been replaced by a new housing development. The population of the non-metropolitan district at the 2011 census was 75,757.Fylde borough was formed under the Local Government Act 1972, on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the borough of Lytham St Annes, Kirkham Urban District, and Fylde Rural District. They reflect the union of the three local authorities in the area: Lytham St Annes Borough Council, Kirkham Urban District Council and Fylde Rural District Council.The Mayor of Fylde for 2022-2023 is Councillor Ben Aitken .

St Michael's Church is an Anglican church in the village of Weeton, Lancashire, England. It is an active parish church in the Diocese of Blackburn. It was built in 1843 and enlarged in 1846. It has been designated a Grade II listed building by English Heritage.

Moss Side railway station is on the Blackpool South-to-Preston line, in Lancashire, England. It is located in Moss Side, a hamlet where the B5259 (Lytham to Wrea Green) road crosses the railway at a level crossing. It is managed by Northern, which operates all passenger services that call there. When the station opened in 1846, it was at first called Kirkham Road.In 1961, Moss Side was closed, along with Wrea Green station in the neighbouring (larger) village. It was an easy task to reopen the station as (unlike at Wrea Green) the platforms had never been removed after closure. Moss Side station, therefore, was reopened in 1983, with the aid of a grant from Lancashire County Council.The old station signal box was closed in the same year when the crossing over Lytham Road was automated, with the track being singled three years later. All trains now use the old eastbound platform, with the other still intact but overgrown. Facilities here are basic (just a waiting shelter, timetable information board and bench seats) and it is the only station on the line not to be fitted with a ticket machine to date. The old station house is now privately owned.

The Eagle at Weeton (formerly the Eagle and Child) is a public house in Weeton, Lancashire, England. Dating to 1585, it is one of the oldest public houses in the county and in north-west England. A set of steps in front of the property date to the 18th century, and are listed. Situated on the former estate of Lord Derby, the building was once a courthouse. Judge and Puritan activist Michael Livesey, who signed the death warrant for Charles I, is believed to have presided there. Matthew Anderton was the pub's landlord in 1851. The pub was known as the Eagle and Child until it underwent a £750,000 renovation in 2019, at which point its name reverted to its 16th-century name, the Eagle. It has also been named The Holy Lamb. The building had a thatched roof until a fire in the 1960s. Star Pubs and Bars, a subsidiary of Heineken, is the owner of the establishment.

Weeton-with-Preese is a civil parish in the Borough of Fylde in Lancashire, England, beside the Blackpool to Preston railway line and the M55 motorway, just east of Blackpool and 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north west of Kirkham. It contains the village of Weeton.

Fylde Rural District was a rural district in the county of Lancashire, England. It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972.It comprised 21 civil parishes to the south of Fleetwood, east of Blackpool, north of Lytham and west of Preston.Fylde College, University of Lancaster was named after the Fylde region of Lancashire and in 1981 was granted license from the College of Arms to bear the arms initially granted to the former Rural District Council in 1959.
