St Michael's Church, Weeton

The Eagle at Weeton (formerly the Eagle and Child) is a public house in Weeton, Lancashire, England. Dating to 1585, it is one of the oldest public houses in the county and in north-west England. A set of steps in front of the property date to the 18th century, and are listed. Situated on the former estate of Lord Derby, the building was once a courthouse. Judge and Puritan activist Michael Livesey, who signed the death warrant for Charles I, is believed to have presided there. Matthew Anderton was the pub's landlord in 1851. The pub was known as the Eagle and Child until it underwent a £750,000 renovation in 2019, at which point its name reverted to its 16th-century name, the Eagle. It has also been named The Holy Lamb. The building had a thatched roof until a fire in the 1960s. Star Pubs and Bars, a subsidiary of Heineken, is the owner of the establishment.

It was created in 1894 and abolished in 1974 under the Local Government Act 1972.It comprised 21 civil parishes to the south of Fleetwood, east of Blackpool, north of Lytham and west of Preston.Fylde College, University of Lancaster was named after the Fylde region of Lancashire and in 1981 was granted license from the College of Arms to bear the arms initially granted to the former Rural District Council in 1959.

Wrea Green railway station was on the Blackpool South to Kirkham line. It served the village of Wrea Green, in Lancashire, England, and closed in 1961.The station opened in 1846. A single-track line to Lytham branched off the Kirkham-to-Poulton line at right angles, heading south-south-west to Wrea Green. When the line was connected to the Blackpool and Lytham Railway in 1874, the line was doubled and the corner between Kirkham and Wrea Green was cut by a new southwesterly line.

The Blackpool Built-up Area or Blackpool Urban Area is an urban area in Lancashire, England, consisting of the large town of Blackpool along with several surrounding towns and villages. Defined by the ONS it had a population of 239,409 in 2011 this is considerably down on the 2001 population of 261,088 mainly due to Fleetwood no longer being considered as part of the built-up area. The population of the Blackpool Urban Area has been declining for some time with the 2001 population down 0.1% from the 1991 figure of 261,355. The Blackpool subdivision itself has a population of 147,633, although during the summer months the population of the town can rise to three times this figure. According to Lancashire Tourist Board there were 360,000 people living in the town during April and August 2003, the majority of these people working in Blackpool for the summer season. The entirety of the Blackpool Urban Area lies within the FY postcode area. The code refers to the Fylde, making it one of only five postcode areas in the UK that does not reference one of its settlements (although its official name is the Blackpool postcode area). The built up area is split over three local government districts: the Blackpool unitary authority area, the Borough of Fylde and the Borough of Wyre. Wrea Green is a village in the Fylde borough of Lancashire, England. It lies about 2 miles west of Kirkham. Along with the village of Ribby, it forms the civil parish Ribby-with-Wrea.Wrea Green has approximately 1,600 residents, many of whom work at the nearby Warton Aerodrome 2 miles away, where BAE Systems is a major local employer. Uniquely for the Fylde Coast, Wrea Green, as described by its name, surrounds a large common land space at one side of which is a duck pond, known locally as 'The Dub'. Wrea Green has won "Lancashire's Best Kept Village" award 15 times - 1959, 1965, 1966, 1968, 1972, 1980, 1986, 1987, 1993, 1996, 2001, 2005, 2009, 2010 and 2012.
