The Eagle at Weeton (formerly the Eagle and Child) is a public house in Weeton, Lancashire, England. Dating to 1585, it is one of the oldest public houses in the county and in north-west England. A set of steps in front of the property date to the 18th century, and are listed. Situated on the former estate of Lord Derby, the building was once a courthouse. Judge and Puritan activist Michael Livesey, who signed the death warrant for Charles I, is believed to have presided there. Matthew Anderton was the pub's landlord in 1851. The pub was known as the Eagle and Child until it underwent a £750,000 renovation in 2019, at which point its name reverted to its 16th-century name, the Eagle. It has also been named The Holy Lamb. The building had a thatched roof until a fire in the 1960s. Star Pubs and Bars, a subsidiary of Heineken, is the owner of the establishment.

Weeton-with-Preese is a civil parish in the Borough of Fylde in Lancashire, England, beside the Blackpool to Preston railway line and the M55 motorway, just east of Blackpool and 3.5 miles (5.6 km) north west of Kirkham. It contains the village of Weeton.

Ivy House is an historic building in Greenhalgh-with-Thistleton, Lancashire, England. It is believed to date to the early 18th century, and has been designated a Grade II listed building by Historic England. The property is located on Thistleton Road. The building is a brick farmhouse with a slate roof in two storeys. It originally was in two bays, with an additions bay added to the right, and an outshut and an extension at the rear. In the original part is a central doorway and two windows in each floor divided by mullions and transoms into 30 panes.

The Blackpool Built-up Area or Blackpool Urban Area is an urban area in Lancashire, England, consisting of the large town of Blackpool along with several surrounding towns and villages. Defined by the ONS it had a population of 239,409 in 2011 this is considerably down on the 2001 population of 261,088 mainly due to Fleetwood no longer being considered as part of the built-up area. The population of the Blackpool Urban Area has been declining for some time with the 2001 population down 0.1% from the 1991 figure of 261,355. The Blackpool subdivision itself has a population of 147,633, although during the summer months the population of the town can rise to three times this figure. According to Lancashire Tourist Board there were 360,000 people living in the town during April and August 2003, the majority of these people working in Blackpool for the summer season. The entirety of the Blackpool Urban Area lies within the FY postcode area. The code refers to the Fylde, making it one of only five postcode areas in the UK that does not reference one of its settlements (although its official name is the Blackpool postcode area). The built up area is split over three local government districts: the Blackpool unitary authority area, the Borough of Fylde and the Borough of Wyre. Fylde South was a constituency which returned one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom from 1950, until it was abolished for the 1983 general election.

Malt Kiln Farmhouse is an historic building in Greenhalgh-with-Thistleton, Lancashire, England. It is believed to date to the mid-18th century, and has been designated a Grade II listed building by Historic England. The property is located on a short lane just off the northern side of Thistleton Road. The building is constructed of rendered brick with a slate roof in two storeys and with a symmetrical two-bay front. In the centre is an open gabled porch. The windows are 12-pane sashes. At the rear is a large stairlight.John Cumsty was the farm's proprietor in the early 20th century.

Greenhalgh-with-Thistleton is a civil parish on the Fylde in Lancashire, England. In 2001 it had a population of 462, falling to 439 at the 2011 Census.The parish is in the Borough of Fylde, and contains the hamlets of Greenhalgh, Thistleton, Esprick and Corner Row. It is part of the ward of Singleton and Greenhalgh, which elects one councillor. In 2015 it was represented by Maxine Chew, an independent councillor.The main road through the parish is the A585 Kirkham to Fleetwood road; there is also a junction with the M55 motorway (M55 J3, Wesham Circle) in the south of the parish. The linear settlement of Esprick is situated along the A585, with Corner Row (used to be known as Cornah Row until M55 was completed 1975) further south where the road crosses the M55. Greenhalgh is to the west, and Thistleton in the north east corner of the parish. Greenhalgh is adjacent to Wesham. The surrounding area is agricultural land. Thistleton has been designated as a conservation area since 1975.The nearest railway station is Kirkham and Wesham, with Poulton-le-Fylde a little further away.

Wrea Green railway station was on the Blackpool South to Kirkham line. It served the village of Wrea Green, in Lancashire, England, and closed in 1961.The station opened in 1846. A single-track line to Lytham branched off the Kirkham-to-Poulton line at right angles, heading south-south-west to Wrea Green. When the line was connected to the Blackpool and Lytham Railway in 1874, the line was doubled and the corner between Kirkham and Wrea Green was cut by a new southwesterly line.
