Royal Air Force North Creake or more simply RAF North Creake is a former Royal Air Force station located 3.3 miles (5.3 km) southwest of Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk and 5.7 miles (9.2 km) northwest of Fakenham, Norfolk, England.

Barsham is a civil parish in the English county of Norfolk, and includes the villages of East Barsham, North Barsham, West Barsham and Houghton St Giles. The villages are all situated within 2 miles of each other, about 3 miles north of the town of Fakenham and 28 miles north-west of the city of Norwich. The headwaters of the River Stiffkey flow through both East and North Barsham and Houghton St Giles.[1]Originally all four villages had their own parishes, but these were merged to create a single civil parish in 1935. This parish has an area of 7½ square miles and in the 2001 census had a population of 253 in 115 households, the population reducing to 232 at the 2011 census. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of North Norfolk.[2][3]There are no shops in Barsham, and the White Horse Inn in East Barsham is the only pub.The mediaeval pilgrimage centre of Walsingham lies only 1¼ miles north of Houghton St Giles, and the Roman Catholic National Shrine of Our Lady or Slipper Chapel is located within the civil parish of Barsham. East Barsham Manor, in the village of East Barsham, is an important work of Tudor architecture.The Wymondham to Wells Branch railway line ran through the parish, but this closed during the Beeching Axe of the 1960s.

The Basilica of Our Lady of Walsingham, informally known as the Slipper Chapel or the Chapel of Saint Catherine of Alexandria, is a Catholic basilica in Houghton Saint Giles, Norfolk, England. Built in 1340, it was the last chapel on the pilgrim route to Walsingham. Pope Pius XII granted a canonical coronation to the venerated statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary under the title of Our Lady of Walsingham presently enshrined within the chapel on 15 August 1954. Pope Francis raised the sanctuary to the status of a minor basilica via an apostolic decree on 27 December 2015.

Houghton Saint Giles is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Barsham, in the North Norfolk district, in the English county of Norfolk. It has also been referred to as Houghton-le-Dale or Houghton-in-the-Hole. In 1931 the parish had a population of 142.The villages name means 'hill-spur farm/settlement'. The village is one of four settlements that are within the parish of Barsham; the other villages are West Barsham, East Barsham and North Barsham. Originally all four villages had their own parishes, but these were merged to create a single civil parish on 1 April 1935.Houghton Saint Giles is 4.2 miles north of the town of Fakenham, 21.2 miles west of Cromer and 118 miles north of London. East Barsham Manor is an important work of Tudor architecture, a leading and early example of a prodigy house, originally built in the 1520s. It is located in the village of East Barsham, about 2.5 miles (4.1 km) north of the town of Fakenham and 2.1 miles (3.4 km) south west of the village of Walsingham in the English county of Norfolk. It is protected as a Grade I listed building.

Wells-next-the-Sea is a port town on the north coast of Norfolk, England. The civil parish has an area of 16.31 km2 (6.30 sq mi) and in 2001 had a population of 2,451, reducing to 2,165 at the 2011 census.Wells is 15 miles (24 km) to the east of the resort of Hunstanton, 20 miles (32 km) to the west of Cromer, and 10 miles (16 km) north of Fakenham. The city of Norwich lies 32 miles (51 km) to the south-east. Nearby villages include Blakeney, Burnham Market, Burnham Thorpe, Holkham and Walsingham.

Wells on Sea railway station is located in Wells-next-the-Sea, Norfolk on the narrow gauge Wells and Walsingham Light Railway. It was opened in 1982. It is located south of the former level crossing on the A149 Coast Road, close to the former junction with the West Norfolk Junction Railway. The original station, which has been converted to non-rail use, is half a mile closer to the town.
