Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago is a children's museum in Glenview, Illinois that provides a hands-on learning laboratory for children ages birth to 8. It is named for philanthropist Dolores Kohl, daughter of the founder of Kohl’s department stores, who founded the museum through her education foundation in 1985. Located on an 8.8-acre (36,000 m2) site, including a 46,700-square-foot (4,340 m2) museum building and a 2-acre (0.81 ha) outdoor exhibit space, the museum features exhibits and programs aligned to the Illinois State Learning Standards and designed to make learning fun and interesting for young children.

This move would eliminate lengthy stops which block traffic on Glenview Road. This move would involve reconstruction of the North Glenview station to handle the additional traffic, and depends on commitments from Glenview, the Illinois General Assembly and Metra.

Glenview station is a Metra commuter rail and Amtrak intercity rail station in Glenview, Illinois, United States, north of Chicago. The station is located at 1116 Depot Street, 17.5 miles (28.2 km) from Union Station, the southern terminus of the lines. The facility opened in March 1995 as a replacement for a since-demolished 1950s era station. The new station, designed by Legat Architects of Waukegan, cost approximately $3 million and was funded from a number of sources, including Metra, the Illinois Department of Transportation, Amtrak and the village of Glenview.On Metra, the station is located on the Milwaukee District North Line that runs between Chicago Union Station and Fox Lake, Illinois. On Amtrak, the station is located on two lines, the Hiawatha that runs between Chicago Union Station and Milwaukee, Wisconsin and the Empire Builder that operates between Chicago, Seattle, Washington, and Portland, Oregon. It also served the short-lived Lake Country Limited which ran between Chicago and Janesville, Wisconsin between April 15, 2000, and September 23, 2001. Frequent, daily service is provided on both the Milwaukee District North Line and the Hiawatha, while the Empire Builder provides once-a-day service. Normally, passengers traveling between Glenview and Chicago or Glenview and Milwaukee are not permitted to board or disembark on the Empire Builder at Glenview, due to the availability of the more frequent Metra and Amtrak Hiawatha routes. However, for much of the spring of 2020, the Empire Builder allowed local travel between Glenview and Milwaukee when the Hiawatha was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It is proposed that the Amtrak service would shift one stop north to North Glenview. This move would eliminate lengthy stops which block traffic on Glenview Road. Glenbrook North High School (also known as GBN) is a public high school in Northbrook, Illinois, United States. It was established in 1953 and is part of the Northfield Township High School District 225. In 2022, it was ranked the 48th-best public high school in the United States by Niche. Feeder schools that attend GBN are Wood Oaks, Northbrook Junior High, Field (Northbrook portions), and Maple (Northbrook portions). GBN Serves Most of Northbrook, some unincorporated portions of Cook County, and a small section of Glenview.

Techny is a neighborhood of Northbrook, Illinois, United States. Once a separate community, it was annexed by Northbrook in 1989. The North American headquarters of the Divine Word Missionaries has been located in Techny since 1896. The area's name derived from St. Joseph's Technical School, which the religious congregation established in 1901 and operated for twelve years. St. Mary's Mission Seminary, the first of its kind which prepared priests and Brothers for foreign missions, was opened by the Divine Word Missionaries in 1909. Techny has its own post office with ZIP code 60082.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, often abbreviated OLPH, is a Roman Catholic parish of the Archdiocese of Chicago located in suburban Glenview, Illinois, approximately 16 miles (26 km) north-northwest of downtown Chicago. Originally established in 1907 as the Mission of St. Joseph, Our Lady of Perpetual Help is now one of two Catholic parishes in Glenview along with St. Catherine Laboure. The parish numbers about 3,000 families. As a result, OLPH celebrates no fewer than seven Masses every weekend. Rev. Jeremiah "Jerry" Boland is the current pastor, and Rev. Thomas E. Hickey is pastor emeritus. In addition, OLPH has three associate pastors and two deacon couples.

Glenbrook South High School, or GBS, is a public four-year high school located in Glenview, Illinois, a north suburb of Chicago, Illinois, in the United States. It is part of Northfield Township High School District, which also includes Glenbrook North High School. Glenbrook South should not be confused with Glenbard South High School, another suburban Chicago high school located in Glen Ellyn, Illinois that is also referred to as "GBS". Feeder schools that attend GBS are Attea, Springman, Field (Glenview portions), and Maple (Glenview portions). According to state standardized test scores, 29% of students are at least proficient in math and 40% in reading, as tested by the Illinois State Board of Education. These figures indicate that the schools performance is above the state high school median of 24% proficiency in Math and Reading.

The Ed Rudolph Velodrome is a velodrome in Northbrook, Illinois used to host track cycling events and soccer games. It was the more centrally located of two Chicago metropolitan area velodromes (the other residing in Kenosha, Wisconsin), until the Chicago Velo Campus was constructed in 2011. It is owned by the Northbrook Park District.The 382 m (1,253 ft) velodrome was constructed in 1960 with a perimeter for track cycling and a grassy infield for soccer games. Every winter, the velodrome was flooded to create a speed skating rink. Over the years, the track served as a practice rink for members of multiple U.S. Winter Olympics teams. In the 1990s, the District ceased the annual conversion of the velodrome into an ice rink due to the facility's inability to retain water, which seeped through the soccer field. Ed Harvey, the District director, attributed this to a lowering of the water table caused by construction in the late 1980s.The track's asphalt was completely resurfaced in 1989, and again in 2004.
