Stade Gaston-Petit is a multi-use stadium in Châteauroux, France. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of La Berrichonne de Châteauroux. The stadium is able to hold 17,173 people. Gaston Petit is a former mayor of Châteauroux.

The 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot XVIII was the 18th IPSC Handgun World Shoot held at the new National Shooting Centre in Châteauroux, France during the end of August and start of September. There were 30 stages divided into 5 areas, with each area being named after and having themes from one of the 5 continents Africa, Asia, America, Australia or Europe. The Production division saw the hardest competition of the match with the largest match participation and the winner Ben Stoeger from USA finishing under half a point in front of Russian shooter Pavel Torgashov, pushing him down into second place with the very close final score of 99.98 %. Production division arguably had the toughest top ten competition, with a margin of only 3.8 % between first and ninth place. Maria Gushchina from Russia made an impressive performance placing both first in Lady Production and sixth in Production Overall.

Déols (French pronunciation: [deɔl] ) is a commune in the department of Indre, region of Centre-Val de Loire, central France. The National Shooting Centre (French: Centre National de Tir Sportif) (CNTS) is a shooting range in Châteauroux, France, owned by the French Shooting Federation (FFTir). The site includes shooting facilities for all Olympic and ISSF disciplines, as well as IPSC Practical disciplines and FITASC clay pigeon shooting. Construction started on 31 March 2016. The 2017 IPSC Handgun World Shoot in August 2017 was the first major event to be held on the range. In 2018 the final parts of the shooting range were completed and inaugurated. The centre was used as the shooting venue for the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics.
