Harewood, Herefordshire

Harewood Park is a rural estate of 900 acres (360 ha) in the civil parish of Harewood in Herefordshire, England, which has been owned by the Duchy of Cornwall since 2000. It is approximately midway between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye.

Llandinabo is a hamlet and civil parish in Herefordshire, England, and approximately six miles north-west of Ross-on-Wye. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 59. The placename is Welsh and means "church of St Junabius".

Hoarwithy is a small village in the civil parish of Hentland, and on the River Wye in Herefordshire, England. It is known for its church of St Catherine built in an Italian Romanesque style with detached campanile. The church, on a steep hillside above the village was built to a design by J. P. Seddon by William Poole, the wealthy Vicar of Hentland in the 1870s. The village has one public house, the New Harp Inn, which is adjacent to the River Wye.

The Laskett Gardens, near Much Birch, Herefordshire, England, were created by Sir Roy Strong and Julia Trevelyan Oman. The couple purchased and moved to the rural property in 1973 and, over the next thirty years, built the garden from scratch. In 2015 Strong announced that he would bequeath the property to the Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Society (Perennial). Perennial accepted the gift in 2021.

The Church of St Catherine is a Church of England parish church at Hoarwithy in the English county of Herefordshire. Alan Brooks and Nikolaus Pevsner, in the revised 2012 Herefordshire volume of the Pevsner Buildings of England series, describe it as "the most impressive Victorian church in the county. Designed in an Italian Romanesque style by the architect John Pollard Seddon for the Revd William Poole, vicar of Hentland with Hoarwithy, it is a Grade I listed building.

Hentland is a hamlet and civil parish about 5 miles (8 km) north-west of Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire, England. The small hamlet settlement of Hentland at the east of the parish contains the parish church of St Dubricius. The civil parish, bounded on its eastern side by the River Wye, also includes the villages of Hoarwithy and St Owen's Cross, and the hamlets of Gillow, Kynaston, Little Pengethley, Llanfrother and Red Rail. The area is mostly farmland, with a small proportion being woodland. The soil consists of red loam, with a subsoil of rock and clay. The name 'Hentland' derives from the Old Welsh Hên-llan, meaning "old church-enclosure". Hentland is the site of an early Welsh monastery, built by Saint Dubricius in the 6th century, which probably stood in the field just south of the present parish church, and is a place for Saint Dubricius' pilgrimage. Gillow Manor is a 14th-century manor house with part of its moat still surviving; in the Middle Ages it was one of the homes of the Pembridge family of Herefordshire. Hall Court Farm is a Grade II listed half timbered house at Kynaston dating from the early 1600s.

It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. It is in an isolated position in a field some 5 miles (8 km) to the west of Ross-on-Wye. The church is notable for its 13th-century wall paintings, and the presence of a reconstructed Roman altar.

Llanwarne is derived from "The church by the swamp/marsh or alders", according to The Oxford Dictionary of English Place-Names.

Much Birch is a village and civil parish in Herefordshire, England, between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye. The parish includes the settlements of Kings Thorn, Much Birch and parts of Wormelow. The village extends for about 1.5 miles (2 km) along the A49, a busy trunk road running from the border with South Wales to North West England. The church of St Mary and St Thomas of Canterbury by Thomas Foster dates from 1837. The chancel ceiling is painted with cherubs peeping over clouds.
