Huntington Gap Wildlife Management Area

The Appalachian Gap is a mountain pass in the Green Mountains of Vermont. The highest point of the pass is located in Chittenden County, about 0.2 mi (0.32 km) west of the boundary between Chittenden and Washington County. The pass is in the Camel's Hump State Park. On the east side, Appalachian Gap is drained by Mill Brook, which drains into the Mad River, the Winooski River, and into Lake Champlain. To the west, the gap is drained by Beaver Meadow Brook, which drains into the Huntington River, another tributary of the Winooski River. Lake Champlain drains into the Richelieu River in Quebec, thence into the Saint Lawrence River, and into the Gulf of Saint Lawrence. The Long Trail, a 272-mile (438 km) hiking trail running the length of Vermont, crosses Appalachian Gap between Stark Mountain to the south, and Baby Stark Mountain to the north. The Gap is a very popular route for tourists and affords excellent views of the Champlain Valley, Lake Champlain and the Adirondack Mountains. It is also a popular motorcycle and road biking destination. The ride from either side up route 17 from is several kilometers with sustained pitches of 15% plus. The summit of Appalachian Gap is the finish point for the road race stage (stage 3) of the annual Green Mountain Stage Race. The Mad River Glen ski area is just south of the gap, on the east side of Stark Mountain.

Mad River Glen is a ski area in Fayston, Vermont. Located within the Green Mountain range, it sits in the Mad River Valley. Though not considered a large ski area, it has a vertical drop of 2,000 feet (610 m), which ranks 14th in New England, and its terrain was ranked by Ski magazine as the most challenging on the east coast of the United States. Mad River Glen averages over 150 inches (380 cm) of snow a year and maintains a traditional form of New England skiing that emphasizes snow preservation on narrow trails with little grooming instead of man-made snow on wide boulevards. It has one of only two single chairlifts left in the country and does not allow snowboarding. It is one of a very limited number of ski cooperatives. Individuals purchase publicly available shares and attend regular "Town Hall" meetings, voting on issues regarding the area and management of the cooperative.

Buels Gore is a gore in Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. The population was 29 at the 2020 census, down from 30 in 2010. In Vermont, gores and grants are unincorporated portions of a county which are not part of any town and have limited self-government (if any, as many are uninhabited).

The Catamount Trail is a long-distance, Nordic ski trail that spans the length of Vermont, extending more than 300 miles (480 km) from the border with Massachusetts at Readsboro, Vermont, to the Canada–United States border at North Troy, Vermont.

Camel's Hump State Forest (alternatively Camels Hump State Forest) covers a total of 2,323 acres (9.40 km2) in two blocks in the U.S. state of Vermont. Stevens Block comprises 1,680 acres (6.8 km2) in Buels Gore, Fayston, and Starksboro in Chittenden, Washington, and Addison counties, respectively. Howe Block covers 643 acres (2.60 km2) in Waitsfield and Fayston, both in Washington county. The forest is managed by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation.

Stark Mountain (also known as General Stark Mountain) is a mountain in the Green Mountains in the U.S. state of Vermont. Located in the town of Fayston in Washington County, the mountain summit is 3,662 feet (1,116 m) in elevation. Stark Mountain is named after General John Stark, hero of the Battle of Bennington fought in 1777.

Huntington Center is an unincorporated village and census-designated place (CDP) in the town of Huntington, Chittenden County, Vermont, United States. It was first listed as a CDP prior to the 2020 census. As of the 2020 census, Huntington Center had a population of 156.

The Remington–Williamson Farm is a historic farm property at 4582 Main Road in Huntington, Vermont. The farm was established in 1830 by Jeremiah Remington, and was in the hands of his descendants into the 1980s. The current 30 acres (12 ha) include Remington's original 1830 brick farmhouse, and a well-preserved 1895 bank barn. The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Camel's Hump Forest Reserve is a protected area in the U.S. state of Vermont. The area is bounded by Vermont Route 17 on the south, the Winooski River on the north, the Mad River on the east, and the Huntington River on the west. The Forest Reserve covers a total of 127.68 square miles (330.7 km2) or 81,715 acres (33,069 ha) of both public and privately owned land, one of the largest blocks of core forest in the state. Camel's Hump Forest Reserve wholly contains Camel's Hump State Park, which is home to Camel's Hump, the third highest mountain in Vermont. Other state lands in the reserve include Huntington Gap Wildlife Management Area and Robbins Mountain Wildlife Management Area. Camel's Hump Forest Reserve should not be confused with Camel's Hump State Forest, a non-overlapping area south of Vermont Route 17.

Camel's Hump Natural Area is a protected area in the U.S. state of Vermont. The natural area, wholly contained within Camel's Hump State Park, straddles the ridge of the Green Mountains in Chittenden and Washington counties, in the towns of Duxbury, Huntington, Fayston, Bolton, and Buels Gore. Administered by the Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation, Camel's Hump Natural Area is the largest natural area in Vermont.
