Pena is a former parish (freguesia) in the municipality of Lisbon, Portugal. At the administrative reorganization of Lisbon on 8 December 2012 it became part of the parish Arroios. In 2001, the population of the district included 6038 residents, in an area of 0.5 km², representing a highly compact population.

Hospital de Santa Marta (Portuguese pronunciation: [ɔʃ.piˈtaɫ dɨ ˈsɐ̃.tɐ ˈmaɾtɐ], "Saint Martha's Hospital") is a public Central Hospital serving the Greater Lisbon area as part of the Central Lisbon University Hospital Centre (CHULC), a state-owned enterprise. Originally a Poor Clares nunnery, it became one of the country's main schools of Internal Medicine during most of the 20th century; more recently, it became especially differentiated in Cardiology and Cardiothoracic Surgery: it is one of the main reference centres on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease in Portugal.

The Bemposta Palace (Palácio da Bemposta), also known as the Paço da Rainha (Queen’s Palace), is a neoclassical palace in the area of Bemposta, now the civil parish of Pena, in Lisbon. It was originally built for Queen Dowager Catherine of Braganza on her return from London to Lisbon and served for many years as her residence. It was then transferred to the Casa do Infantado (the property of the younger son of the King of Portugal), before becoming the residence of John VI of Portugal until his death. After Queen Maria II of Portugal transferred its title to the Army, it became the Portuguese Military Academy.

The Avenida is also home to numerous embassies and diplomatic missions. The Avenida is a 90-metre-wide boulevard, 1100 m long, with ten lanes divided by pedestrian pavements decorated with gardens. It links Marquis of Pombal Square in the north to Restauradores Square, the entrance to the Lisbon Baixa. It is commonly referred to by the inhabitants of Lisbon simply as the "Avenida" (the Avenue).

The Monument to the Fallen of the Great War, also known as the Monument to the Combatants of the Great War, is a monument in Lisbon, Portugal, within the civil parish of Santo António, at Liberty Avenue, near the intersection with Salitre Street. It is dedicated to the soldiers of the Portuguese Army, that died during the First World War. The monument was designed by Guilherme Rebelo de Andrade, Carlos Rebello de Andrade, and Maximiano Alves, and unveiled on 22 November 1931.
