The Métropole du Grand Paris (French: [metʁopɔl dy ɡʁɑ̃ paʁi]; "Metropolis of Greater Paris"), or Greater Paris, is a métropole covering the City of Paris and its nearest surrounding suburbs. The métropole came into existence on 1 January 2016; it comprises 131 communes, including Paris and all 123 communes in the surrounding inner-suburban departments of the Petite Couronne (Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne), plus seven communes in two of the outer-suburban departments, including the communes of Argenteuil in Val-d'Oise, Savigny-sur-Orge, Juvisy-sur-Orge, Viry-Châtillon and Paray-Vieille-Poste in Essonne, the latter of which covers part of Orly Airport. Part of the métropole comprises the Seine department, which existed from 1929 to 1968. Grand Paris covers 814 square kilometers (314 square miles) and has a population of over 9 million.The métropole is administered by a metropolitan council of 210 members, not directly elected, but chosen by the councils of the member communes. Its responsibilities include urban planning, housing, as well as environment protection. The Métropole du Grand Paris should not be confused with the Grand Paris Express, a new transportation system being developed independently to connect the departments in the Paris suburbs.

The hôtel de Villeroy, also the hôtel de Villeroy Bourbon or hôtel de la Poste, is a hôtel particulier, a type of large townhouse of France, at 34 rue des Bourdonnais, 9 rue des Déchargeurs, 17 rue des Halles (former rue de la Limace) in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. It is a designated monument historique.

Châtelet–Les Halles (French: [ʃɑtlɛ le al]) is a major train hub in Paris and one of the largest underground stations in the world. Opened in 1977, it is the central transit hub for the Paris metropolitan area, connecting three of five RER commuter-rail lines and five of sixteen Métro lines. The hub hosts 750,000 travellers per weekday (493,000 for the RER alone) and platforms separated by up to 800 metres (0.5 mi). It is named after the nearby Place du Châtelet public square and the Forum des Halles, a shopping mall.

Les Halles (French pronunciation: ​[le al]) is a station on Line 4 of the Paris Métro. Located in the 1st arrondissement, it takes its name from the market halls which were on the site for many years.

Écoute is a sculpture by French artist Henri de Miller in Paris. It is a giant stone head with cupped hand in front of the Church of St-Eustache. It is near to another sculpture by the same artist; a very large sundial designed by the astronomer Dandrel and made by the sculptor, in the Jardin des Halles, above the Forum des Halles.

Les Déchargeurs (or Théâtre des Déchargeurs) is a performance venue located at 3, rue des Déchargeurs in Les Halles (1st arrondissement of Paris) It is served by the Châtelet and Hôtel de Ville metro stations.

The Church of St. Eustache, Paris (French: L’église Saint-Eustache) is a church in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. The present building was built between 1532 and 1632. Situated near the site of Paris' medieval marketplace (Les Halles) and rue Montorgueil, Saint-Eustache exemplifies a mixture of multiple architectural styles: its structure is Flamboyant Gothic while its interior decoration and other details are Renaissance and classical. The 2019 Easter Mass at Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris was relocated to Saint-Eustache after the Notre-Dame de Paris fire.

The Bibliothèque du cinéma François-Truffaut is a film library in Paris, France. It is located at 4 rue de Cinéma, in the Forum des Halles. Its collections consist of books, journals, film music, DVDs, and press reviews. It is named for the French film director François Truffaut.

The Musée Grévin – Forum des Halles was a wax museum located in the Forum des Halles, level 1, in the 1st arrondissement of Paris at 1 Rue Pierre Lescot, Paris, France. It opened in 1981 and closed in 1996. The museum was an annex of its main Musée Grévin, and devoted to life in the Belle Époque (1885-1900). It featured 21 animated scenes with sound effects.

The Musée de l'Holographie was a notable museum of holography located in Paris, France. The museum was established in 1980, and located for some years in the Forum des Halles. According to S. Johnston, it closed its doors in 1994. But in fact, it was in April 1996. The museum's collections are now shown in touring exhibits in France and around the world.
