Steelhouse Festival is an independent rock festival held annually in late July at Aberbeeg in South Wales, U.K.

Cwm (from Welsh: Y Cwm, transl. The Valley) is a former coal mining village, community and electoral ward three miles (4.8 km) south of Ebbw Vale in the county borough of Blaenau Gwent, Wales, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire, United Kingdom. Pen-y-fan Pond is a man-made reservoir in South Wales built around 1794-6 as part of the engineering works for the Crumlin Arm of the Monmouthshire Canal. The reservoir was used to maintain the water level in the canal. The reservoir is formed by a large earth dam with stone facings, forming banks on three sides of a gentle slope. The outlet to the canal feeder forms a stone-lined, oval tunnel and a valve chamber is set into the bank above. Pen Y Fan Pond Country Park features the reservoir, and provides a circular walk around the lake, and minimal facilities for visitors. Abertillery and District Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Abertyleri a'r Cylch) was a community hospital in Aberbeeg, near Abertillery, in Blaenau Gwent County Borough, Wales. It was managed by the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. It is a Grade II listed building.

The Ebbw Vale Garden Festival of Wales (National Garden Festival 1992) attracted over two million visitors to Ebbw Vale in South Wales.

Valleys Radio (Welsh: Radio'r Cymoedd) was an Independent Local Radio station broadcasting to the heads of the South Wales Valleys. The broadcast area was covered by two transmitters, 999 kHz from the Aberdare transmitter, and 1116 kHz from the Ebbw Vale transmitter, with the Ebbw Vale signal being the comparatively stronger of the two.

The Ebbw Vale Garden Festival Funicular was a funicular railway built to carry visitors around the Ebbw Vale Garden Festival in 1992.

The small village of Aberbeeg (from Welsh Aber-bîg 'mouth of the river Bîg') lies in both the county borough of Blaenau Gwent and Caerphilly County Borough Council in Wales, within the historic boundaries of Monmouthshire. It is part of the community of Llanhilleth. The two main tributaries of the Ebbw River, the Ebbw Fawr and Ebbw Fach converge at Aberbeeg.Nearby are the villages of Llanhilleth and Six Bells, where the former colliery allowed the whole community to thrive as part of the South Wales coalfield community. Today, one of the most prominent sights in Aberbeeg area is the grade II* listed St. Illtyd's parish church, which is thought to have been built in the late 5th century, and underwent extensive renovation over the last 200 years. After closing in 1962, the church was privately acquired in 1984. It has now returned to public ownership and is now open to visitors. The friends of St. Illtyd help Blaenau Gwent look after the building. Aberbeeg railway station closed on 30 April 1962. The Ebbw Valley Railway re-opened in February 2008. A bus service between Aberbeeg and Llanhilleth, the nearest railway station on the line, runs every hour.
