The Archdiocese of Portland in Oregon (Archidioecesis Portlandensis in Oregonia) is an archdiocese of the Catholic Church in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. It encompasses the western part of the state of Oregon, from the summit of the Cascades to the Pacific Ocean. The Archbishop of Portland serves as the Ordinary of the archdiocese and Metropolitan of the Ecclesiastical Province of Portland whose suffragan dioceses cover the entire three states of Oregon, Idaho, and Montana. The dioceses of the province include Baker (eastern Oregon), Boise (Idaho), Helena (western Montana), and Great Falls-Billings (eastern Montana). As published in the 2013 "Oregon Catholic Directory," this archdiocese serves 412,725 Catholics (out of more than 3.3 million people). The West Ankeny Car Barns Bay E is a former streetcar carbarn in Portland, Oregon, that is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Completed in 1911, it was one of three buildings that collectively made up the Ankeny Car Barns complex of the Portland Railway, Light and Power Company (PRL&P), the owner and operator of Portland's streetcar system at the time. By 1978, the brick building had become the only surviving structure from the Ankeny complex and one of only two surviving remnants of carbarn complexes of the Portland area's large street railway and interurban system of the past, the other being the PRL&P's Sellwood Division Carbarn Office and Clubhouse.The original Ankeny carbarn was built in 1892 by the City and Suburban Railway Company, one of PRL&P's predecessors. It was located at 24th and East Ankeny, but after fire destroyed it in 1894 it was rebuilt at 28th and East Burnside, on the east side of 28th. The complex was expanded in 1901 and 1910 through the construction of additional buildings, including Bays D and E, located west of 28th Avenue between Burnside and Couch streets. The building known then as Bay E was last used by streetcars in the early 1950s and was sold in 1954 to Bitar Brothers. It was eventually converted into an office building, and is known as the Burnside Trolley Building (with address of 2705 E. Burnside Street).

Esparza's Tex Mex Cafe, or simply Esparza's, was a Tex-Mex restaurant in Portland, Oregon, in the United States. Opened by Martha and Joe Esparza in 1990, the restaurant operated for more than 24 years before closing in January 2014. Its unusual menu included buffalo tostadas, ground ostrich and nopalitos, several varieties of tongue, beef brisket, and more traditional options such as enchiladas, quesadillas, tacos and tamales. Esparza's was one of Portland's most popular restaurants during the 1990s and was named "Restaurant of the Year" by The Oregonian in 1992.

Pacific Crest Community School is a private alternative school in Portland, Oregon, United States. The school has been accredited by the Northwest Accreditation Commission (formerly the Association of Accredited Schools) since 1995.The school was founded by four teachers from West Linn High School, who decided that there had to be a better way to educate kids. The inspiration for the school came one day in 1990 when co-founders Dan Calzaretta and Becky Lukens (then both social studies teachers at West Linn High School) were having lunch. They both agreed that too many kids were not being served by the traditional educational system. The idea for Pacific Crest was thus born. Becky's student teacher, Jenny Osborne, was also intrigued by the idea, and is also one of the co-founders of Pacific Crest. Robert Schlichting, then a science teacher at West Linn was also interested, and eventually joined as a co-founder, as did Bill Ballas, a friend of Dan's who was teaching in Japan at the time.
