Croydon North West was a borough constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elected one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election.

Broad Green is a small residential and retail area between Croydon and Thornton Heath in the London Borough of Croydon. The area was centred on a triangular green space bounded by shops and houses, which was developed at the end of the 19th century. The main landmark of the area, the Safari Cinema, was demolished in 2005. Most of West Croydon is in Broad Green electoral ward, hence Broad Green library is some distance from the traditional Broad Green area.

Safari Cinema was an entertainment venue at 225 London Road in Broad Green, Croydon. It was opened in 1936, and closed in 2004. The building was demolished in 2005, and was described at the time as "the last of the historic cinemas from the Golden Age left in Croydon". It was previously known as the Savoy (1936-1958), ABC Croydon (1958-1986) and the Cannon (1986-late 1990s).

Bensham Manor is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, covering part of the Thornton Heath area of London in the United Kingdom. The ward extends from Thornton Heath railway station westwards and is largely residential with a retail or industrial core. The population of the Ward at the 2011 Census was 16,201.The ward currently forms part of Steve Reed MP's Croydon North constituency. The ward returns three councillors every four years to Croydon Council. At the 2006 Croydon Council election, Raj Rajendran, Paula Shaw, and Greta Sohoye were elected to the council. All of them were running as Labour Party candidates. Councillor Shaw resigned in 2007 triggering a by-election on 18 February 2007 which was won by Labour's Alison Butler.

Queen's Road Cemetery is a cemetery in Croydon, England. It opened in 1861, and was followed in 1897 by the larger Croydon Cemetery in Mitcham Road. Both cemeteries are now managed by the London Borough of Croydon. Queen's Road Cemetery covers approximately 22 acres (89,000 m2) and is in the north of the borough of Croydon, east of Mayday Hospital and west of Selhurst railway station. It has about 50,000 graves and approximately 97,000 burials have taken place since it opened. The graves are shaded by large trees and landscaped with shrubbery beds.

The Croydon Co-operative Society was a cooperative retailer in Croydon and surrounding parts of Surrey, England. In 1918, it became part of the new South Suburban Co-operative Society, now the Co-operative Group. A co-operative society had been formed in Croydon in 1860, the Croydon Co-operative Industrial Society, with headquarters in Market Street and later at 39 Church Street. However, after several years of good progress, the Society went into voluntary liquidation in March 1874. A new society was formed in 1887, established at 85 Chesham Road, South Croydon. It first traded at 118 Church Street, then in 1888 moved to 128-130 Church Street and taking over neighbouring 132 in 1897. It was beset by inefficiency and poor practice, and competition from the rival Co-operative Coal Society operating from 1895 to 1902, registered in Northbrook Road. It was able to overcome other competition issues by a series of mergers - the Caterham Co-operative Society in 1906, the Epsom Co-operative Society in 1916 and the Sutton Co-operative Society. In 1907, the Society moved its trading premises to 30 London Road and then in 1914 it began to develop 99 London Road, north of central Croydon, which would later become the headquarters of the South Suburban. Shops were opened in South Norwood and Thornton Heath, and a bakery and stables in Windmill Hill, as well as the shops of the merged societies. In 1917, just prior to merger, it had 7,595 members and 175 employees. Key figures in the Croydon Society included Charles Bailey and Albert Gore. Bailey, an engineer, served as President from 1903, taking the society through the merger into the South Suburban and becoming President of the new society until 1938 – 35 years in office in total. Gore served on the board of Croydon and South Suburban for most of the period from the 1890s until 1945, and was a councillor in the town also.

Thornton Heath is a district of South London, England, within the London Borough of Croydon. It is around 1.5 miles (2.4 km) north of the town of Croydon, and 7.2 miles (11.6 km) south of Charing Cross. Prior to the creation of Greater London in 1965, Thornton Heath was in the County Borough of Croydon.

Winterbourne Boys' Academy (formerly Winterbourne Junior Boys' School) is a junior school in the London Borough of Croydon for boys aged between 7 and 11 years. Along with its sister Girls' School, the schools are the last remaining single-sex, state-funded junior schools in the UK.

Broad Green is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, London in the United Kingdom, covering the West Croydon area. Broad Green locality is divided between this ward and Selhurst ward. The ward extends from central Croydon to the south to the boundary with the London Boroughs of Sutton and Merton by Mitcham Common. It includes part of the retail core of Croydon and the northern part of the Purley Way retail area. The ward returns three councillors every four years. At the 2006 election, Stuart Collins, Mike Selva, and Manju Shahul-Hameed were elected, as Labour Party candidates. The population of the Ward at the 2011 Census was 18,652.The ward is in Croydon North constituency, with Steve Reed as Member of Parliament. The ward became smaller in 2018, following boundary changes in Croydon.

West Thornton is a ward in the London Borough of Croydon, covering part of the Thornton Heath area. The first election held under the new ward boundaries was the 2018 Croydon Council election.
