Historic St. James AME Church is a historic church, affiliated with the African Methodist Episcopal Church, the oldest predominantly African American denomination in the United States. The church is located at 222 N. Roman Street in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 1844, Historic St. James is the first church of African Methodism established in the Deep South. The church's pastor is the Reverend Dr. Demetrese Phillips.The Neo-Gothic church was built in 1848 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Grand Palace Hotel was a 17-story building located in the Mid City area of New Orleans, Louisiana. The building became known worldwide for its implosion on 22 July 2012.

The Carver Theatre is a theater located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The theatre was originally built in 1950 and was used for concerts, plays, off-broadway shows, films, conventions, graduations, Mardi Gras balls, dance recitals, corporate events and private parties.

Iberville Projects was a neighborhood in the city of New Orleans and one of the low-income Housing Projects of New Orleans. The Iberville was the last of the New Deal-era public housing remaining in the city. Its boundaries were St. Louis Street, Basin Street, Iberville Street, and North Claiborne Avenue. It is located in the 6th ward of downtown New Orleans, on the former site of the Storyville district (the city's official red-light district). The area has recently been redeveloped into a modernized apartment complex called the Bienville Basin Apartments.

Storyville was the red-light district of New Orleans, Louisiana, from 1897 to 1917. It was established by municipal ordinance under the New Orleans City Council, to regulate prostitution. Sidney Story, a city alderman, wrote guidelines and legislation to control prostitution within the city. The ordinance designated an area of the city in which prostitution, although still nominally illegal, was tolerated or regulated. The area was originally referred to as "The District", but its nickname, "Storyville", soon caught on, much to the chagrin of Alderman Story. It was bound by the streets of North Robertson, Iberville, Basin, and St. Louis Streets. It was located by a train station, making it a popular destination for travelers throughout the city, and became a centralized attraction in the heart of New Orleans. Only a few of its remnants are now visible. The neighborhood lies in Faubourg Tremé and the majority of the land was repurposed for public housing. It is well known for being the home of jazz musicians, most notably Louis Armstrong as a minor.

University Medical Center New Orleans (UMCNO), is a 446-bed non-profit, public, research and academic hospital located in the Tulane - Gravier neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana, providing tertiary care for the southern Louisiana region and beyond. University Medical Center New Orleans is one of the region's only university-level academic medical centers. The hospital is operated by the LCMC Health System and is the largest hospital in the system. UMCNO is affiliated with the LSU Health Sciences Center New Orleans, Tulane University School of Medicine, University of Louisiana at Monroe, Delgado Community College, Dillard University, Our Lady of Holy Cross College, Southern University at New Orleans, and Xavier University of Louisiana. UMCNO is also an ACS designated level I trauma center and has a rooftop helipad to handle medevac patients.

Dooky Chase’s Restaurant is a restaurant in Tremé neighborhood of New Orleans that in the 1950s and 1960s was known as a place for civil rights leaders to safely “meet and strategize.”

The Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine is part of Tulane University, located in New Orleans, in the U.S. state of Louisiana.

WWOZ (90.7 FM) is a non-profit community-supported radio station in New Orleans. It is owned by the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation. The station specializes in music from or relating to the cultural heritage of New Orleans and the surrounding region of Louisiana. The playlist includes jazz, blues, local, regional and world music. The studios and offices are on North Peters Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. The transmitter is on Canal Street at Lasalle Street atop a Tulane University building.

Phillis Wheatley Elementary School is a school in New Orleans. The original school building was designed by the architect Charles Colbert in 1954 as a segregated school for African-American students. The cantilevered steel truss structure allowed for a covered play space underneath. The primary school building did not flood after Hurricane Katrina, but it remained closed. On June 17, 2011, the school was demolished, despite an 11th hour protest to save the building. In 2014, a newly constructed three-story campus opened to students.

Rampart Street (French: rue du Rempart) is a historic avenue located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The section of Rampart Street downriver from Canal Street is designated as North Rampart Street, which forms the inland or northern border of the French Quarter (Vieux Carre). Crossing Esplanade Avenue, the street continues into the Faubourg Marigny neighborhood, then splits off from St. Claude Avenue to become a single-lane, one-way street through residential neighborhoods, and continues into the Bywater neighborhood. With a break at the Industrial Canal, Rampart Street resumes in the Lower Ninth Ward. Upriver from Canal, it is designated as South Rampart Street, and runs through the New Orleans Central Business District and continues to St. Andrew Street. In the 19th century, the "South Rampart Street" designation continued into Uptown New Orleans; this section is now named Danneel Street.

Willie Mae's Scotch House is a restaurant in New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2005 it was named an America's Classic by the James Beard Foundation.
