Lyddington Bede House

St Andrew's Church is a church in Lyddington, Rutland. It is a Grade I listed building.

Lyddington is a village in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands of England. The population of the civil parish was 397 at the 2001 census, and had fallen to 366 at the 2011 census.The village's name origin is uncertain. Perhaps, 'farm/settlement of Hlyda' or 'farm/settlement with a noisy stream'. Lyddington Bede House, owned by English Heritage, is a Grade I listed building incorporating parts of a medieval bishop's palace. In 1547 it was seized on behalf of the king from the Bishops of Lincoln and later passed to Lord Burghley. In 1600 part of the palace was converted into an almshouse and it continued in this use until 1930. The remains of the fishponds of the bishop's palace are nearby. St Andrew's Church is also Grade I listed.There are two public houses, The Marquess of Exeter and The Old White Hart.

Uppingham Community College is a mixed secondary school located in Uppingham in the English county of Rutland.It was previously a community school administered by Rutland County Council. Uppingham Community College then briefly became a foundation school before being converted to academy status in April 2011. However the school continues to coordinate with Rutland County Council for admissions. Uppingham Community College offers GCSEs, BTECs and vocational courses as programmes of study for pupils. The school specialises in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), and has additional resources and programmes of study to support the specialism.

At the 2011 Census the population remained less than 100 and is included in the civil parish of Seaton. The village's name means 'outlying farm/settlement'. 'By water' refers to the nearby River Welland.

Caldecott is a village in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands of England. The civil parish population was 256 at the 2001 census increasing to 269 at the 2011 census. It is located about four miles (6.4 km) south of Uppingham and about 4 miles north of Corby in Northamptonshire. The A6003 runs through the village; traffic flow on the bridge over the River Welland is controlled by traffic lights. The village's name means 'cottages which are cold'.Caldecott is the most southerly village in Rutland. It is a small historic ironstone village situated on the A6003. The village has campaigned for a bypass since at least the 1950s, which was approved in 2007 but fell through due to the financial crisis.Otherwise Caldecott is surrounded by rolling countryside and close to the Eyebrook Reservoir nature reserve and Rockingham Forest. Caldecott has a new playground, fundraised for and managed by the local community. The village has an active community, hosting a number of clubs & societies and events, usually at the Village Hall. The parish church of St John the Evangelist, is a Grade II* listed building; it dates back to the 12th century and is a focal point for the village, holding regular services. There is one public house - The Plough Inn - by The Green on Main Street, and an Italian restaurant - Castle Italia - on the A6003 Rockingham Road to the south of the village. There was once a railway station on the southern edge of the village. It was named after the neighbouring village of Rockingham, which was considered to be of more importance at the time. The railway station closed in 1966.

Stoke Dry is a village and civil parish in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands of England, about three miles (5 km) southwest of Uppingham. The village's name means 'outlying farm/settlement'. The village is positioned on a hill above a valley that may have been marshy in previous times and may have been drained.In 2007 it had a population of 39. At the 2011 census the population remained less than 100 and was included with the parish of Seaton. With only 14 homes this is a quiet village. St Andrew's Church, Stoke Dry has mediaeval wall paintings and Romanesque chancel arch. A myth claims that the Gunpowder Plot conspirators met in a small room above the porch; the only basis for this is that the manor was part of the estate of Sir Everard Digby. Stoke Dry is known as the site of the Eyebrook Reservoir located at the bottom of the hill. The reservoir was used by Avro Lancasters flying from RAF Scampton as the final practice run for Guy Gibson's No. 617 Squadron RAF prior to Operation Chastise, the Dambusters attack on the Ruhr valley dams on the night of the 16/17 May 1943. In 2009 the village was one of three (along with Lyddington and Thorpe by Water) to become the first in the UK to benefit from superfast broadband using sub-loop unbundling

The A6003 links Kettering and Corby in Northamptonshire, with Oakham in Rutland, via Leicestershire. The road forms the principal link between Rutland and Northamptonshire.

Bisbrooke is a village and civil parish in the county of Rutland in the East Midlands of England. The village is situated about 2 miles (3.2 km) east of Uppingham, south of the A47 road which passes through the parish. In 2001, it had a population of 219, falling to 204 at the 2011 census.

The Eye Brook is a watercourse in the East Midlands of England and a tributary of the River Welland. It is around 18 miles (29 km) long.

Gretton railway station was a railway station near Gretton, Northamptonshire. It was on the Nottingham direct line of the Midland Railway of the Midland Railway. The steps up to the former platforms can still be seen, but the station building itself is in private ownership. As of 2014 the station buildings still remain, though in private ownership. The station itself is an interesting two storey building situated on a viaduct on the edge of the village - easily visible on the road from Rockingham (which itself has a disused station).
