Kurunjang Secondary College is a co-educational secondary school built in 1986, in Kurunjang, Victoria, Australia. The principal of the school is supported by three assistant principals. Aylin Gökmen was appointed as Principal in October 2023; assistant principals appointed are Melanie Hayward, Christopher Ronalds and Kelsey Ryan. The school's community partners include Kurunjang Primary, Melton Primary, Wedge Park Primary, Melton West Primary and many other schools. The school also neighbours the Melton campus of Heathdale Christian College.

Melton is a suburb on the outskirts of Melbourne, Victoria. The suburb is located 37 kilometres (23 mi) west of Melbourne's Central Business District on the city's western rural-urban fringe. It is the administrative centre of the City of Melton local government area. As of the 2021 Australian census, the suburb has a population of 7,953. Originally a country town along the Ballarat — Melbourne growth corridor, Melton was designated a satellite city of Melbourne in 1974. Along with the rest of the City of Melton, it forms a part of Greater Melbourne and counts as part of its population statistic. In 2023, Melbourne's significant urban area boundary was expanded to include Melton. Like the overall local government area, Melton was named after Melton Mowbray in the United Kingdom.

The seat of local government and administrative offices are located at Council headquarters in Melton, the settlement after which the city takes its name which lies at the western end of the LGA and is currently its largest urban area with a population of over 54,000. City of Melton has a rapid population growth rate, ranked 3rd fastest among LGAs in Victoria in 2010. It was granted city status in 2012.

Melton West is a suburb in Victoria, Australia, 38 km (24 mi) west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Melton local government area. Melton West recorded a population of 8,784 at the 2021 census. Melton West Post Office opened on 1 September 1994.

Melton Entertainment Park, formerly Tabcorp Park, is an Australian horse racing venue situated in Melton, Victoria, Australia; 40 kilometres (25 mi) north-west of the Melbourne central business district. It is used for harness racing and is operated by Harness Racing Victoria.

Melton railway station is a regional railway station on the Ararat line. It serves the outer-western suburb of Melton South, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Melton is a ground level premium station featuring two side platforms. It opened on 2 April 1884, with the second platform added in 1991. The station is currently being rebuilt as part of the Level Crossing Removal Project, with the new station planned to open in 2026. The new station will be an elevated premium station with four platforms. Platform 1 and 4 will be side platforms, and Platform 2 and 3 will be an island platform with two faces. The new station will accommodate 9-carriage VLocity trains, which are planned to be introduced on the line in 2027.

Staughton College is a secondary school in Melton South, Melbourne, Australia. It was established as Melton South Technical School in 1979 focusing on technical education. The school was transformed into Secondary College following Victorian education reforms that reorganized the structure of state schools from into colleges. The college was called Wilson Park Secondary College. The school is located on Wilson Road in Melton South next to the Melton South Campus of Victoria University, Australia.

Cobblebank is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 33 km (21 mi) west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Melton local government area. Cobblebank recorded a population of 3,601 at the 2021 census. Cobblebank is a developing outer suburb that was gazetted by the Office of Geographic Names on 9 February 2017, following a proposal for eleven new suburbs by the City of Melton. The new name officially came into effect in mid-2017. Prior to the suburb's creation, the area was part of Melton South.

Harkness is a suburb in Victoria, Australia, 38 km (24 mi) North west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Melton local government area. Harkness recorded a population of 12,463 at the 2021 census. The suburb was gazetted by the Office of Geographic Names on 9 February 2017, following a proposal for eleven new suburbs by the City of Melton. The new name officially took effect from 23 August 2017. Prior to the suburb's creation, the area was mostly part of Melton West, in addition to a small section of Toolern Vale in the north. The name "Harkness" was the surname of an early settler, William Scott Harkness, who was born in Roxburghshire, Scotland in 1839 and arrived in Melbourne at Port Phillip in 1852. He was the manager of Strathtulloh and a farmer. He died in 1908.
