The Oaklands Hunt Club is an Australian fox hunting club located in the Greenvale, Victoria.

The Alister Clark Memorial Rose Garden is the most complete collection in Australia of the surviving roses of "the great Australian rose breeder, Alister Clark" (1864–1949). It is situated near "Glenara", his old house and garden in Bulla, Victoria, 10 km NW of Melbourne Airport. There are at least 150 named roses by Alister Clark and many more plausibly attributed to him. Of these 83 are known to survive, though the authenticity of some is disputed and another eight only survive outside Australia. The garden is maintained by volunteers coordinated by the Hume City Council.

Bulla is a locality and township in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 23 kilometres (14 mi) north-west of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Bulla Bridge is a four span bluestone arched bridge over Deep Creek in the town of Bulla, north east of Melbourne. It was constructed in 1869 by McBurnie and Ramsden, for the Shire of Bulla to a design of Scottish-born engineer John C Climie and replaced a timber bridge built in about 1859. The bridge is 126 feet long and comprises four spans each of 27 feet. It is associated with a c.1843 road cutting and early ford which was on the main road to the Victorian gold fields.The picturesque setting has attracted a number of artists and photographers including the woodcut by Eveline Winifred Syme in the 1930s, and numerous historic photographs.

Emirates Flight 407 was a scheduled international passenger flight operated by Emirates from Auckland to Dubai with a stopover in Melbourne, operated by an Airbus A340-500 aircraft. On 20 March 2009, the flight failed to take off properly at Melbourne Airport, hitting several structures at the end of the runway before climbing and then returning to the airport for a safe landing. Although no fatalities or injuries resulted, damage to the aircraft was severe enough for the event to be classified by Australian Transport Safety Bureau as an "accident". It was subsequently determined that a data-entry error resulted in insufficient engine thrust during take off. It has been described "as close as we have ever come to a major aviation catastrophe in Australia" by aviation officials.

The Division of Calwell is an Australian Electoral Division in the state of Victoria. Calwell contains the outer north-western fringe of Melbourne. It includes the suburbs of Broadmeadows, Dallas, Coolaroo, Greenvale, Meadow Heights, Roxburgh Park, Craigieburn and Mickleham.Calwell has been a safe Labor seat since it was created in 1984. Calwell has had only two members, Dr. Andrew Theophanous, from 1984-2001, and the current MP Maria Vamvakinou, since 2001. Both are members of the Australian Labor Party.

Greenvale is a suburb in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, 20 km (12 mi) north of Melbourne's Central Business District, located within the City of Hume local government area. Greenvale recorded a population of 21,274 at the 2021 census.Greenvale is located between Yuroke and Attwood, on Mickleham Road.

The County of Bourke is one of the 37 counties of Victoria which are part of the Lands administrative divisions of Australia, (used for land titles and no longer other administrative or political function). It is the oldest and most populous county in Victoria and contains the city of Melbourne. Like other counties in Victoria, it is subdivided into parishes. The county was named after Irish born Sir Richard Bourke, the Governor of New South Wales between 1831 and 1837. It is bordered by the Werribee River in the west; the Great Dividing Range in the north; Port Phillip in the south; and by Dandenong Creek, a small part of the Yarra River, and the Plenty River in the east. The county was proclaimed in 1853. The "Melbourne and County of Bourke Police" was the name for the police force in the area before 1853. The County of Bourke was used on the name of the electoral roll in 1845. There was also the "Bourke County Court" in the 1850s, which became the County Court of Victoria. Melbourne is also referenced as being in "Bourke county" in the Encyclopædia Britannica Eleventh Edition.

Yuroke recorded a population of 123 at the 2021 census.Yuroke is located adjacent to the Melbourne Metropolitan Area, beyond the Urban Growth Boundary. It is located between Mickleham and Greenvale, on Mickleham Road.
