Praed Street () is a street in Paddington, west London, in the City of Westminster, most notable for being the location of London Paddington station. It runs south-westerly, straight from Edgware Road to Craven Road, Spring Street and Eastbourne Terrace.

Paddington is an area within the City of Westminster, in Central London. First a medieval parish then a metropolitan borough, it was integrated with Westminster and Greater London in 1965. Three important landmarks of the district are Paddington station, designed by the engineer Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1847; St Mary's Hospital; and the former Paddington Green Police Station (once the most important high-security police station in the United Kingdom). A major project called Paddington Waterside aims to regenerate former railway and canal land between 1998 and 2018, and the area is seeing many new developments. Offshoot districts (historically within Paddington) are Maida Vale, Westbourne and Bayswater including Lancaster Gate.

St Mary's Hospital is an NHS hospital in Paddington, in the City of Westminster, London, founded in 1845. Since the UK's first academic health science centre was created in 2008, it has been operated by Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, which also operates Charing Cross Hospital, Hammersmith Hospital, Queen Charlotte's and Chelsea Hospital and the Western Eye Hospital.Until 1988 the hospital ran St Mary's Hospital Medical School, part of the federal University of London. In 1988 it merged with Imperial College London, and then with Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School in 1997 to form Imperial College School of Medicine. In 2007 Imperial College became an independent institution when it withdrew from the University of London.

St Mary's is the youngest of the constituent schools of Imperial College London, founded in 1854 as part of the new hospital in Paddington. During its existence in the 1980s and 1990s, it was the most popular medical school in the country, with an application to place ratio of 27:1 in 1996.St Mary's continued comparatively unmoved by the other nomadic medical schools in the area, until its merger with Imperial College in 1988, and the foundation of Imperial College School of Medicine in 1997 by the merger with Charing Cross and Westminster Medical School.

The Abdul Latif Jameel Institute for Disease and Emergency Analytics (commonly, the Jameel Institute, or J-IDEA) is a research institute at Imperial College London in the fields of epidemiology, mathematical modelling of infectious diseases and emergencies, environmental health, and health economics. Co-founded in 2019 by Imperial College London and Community Jameel, the Jameel Institute is housed in the School of Public Health, within the college's Faculty of Medicine. The mission of the Jameel Institute is "to combat threats from disease worldwide".The Jameel Institute rose to prominence in 2020 under the leadership of Professor Neil Ferguson, Director of the Jameel Institute, when, as part of the Imperial College COVID-19 Response Team, the Jameel Institute published mathematical modelling of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Norfolk Square is a rectangular garden square in Paddington in Central London. Located in the City of Westminster, it is part of the Tyburnia district north of Hyde Park. It runs east to west from London Street to Norfolk Place. Praed Street and Sussex Gardens are directly parallel to it north and south respectively. The street was developed on the site of a former waterworks of the Grand Union Canal. It was one of three located close to what became Paddington Station, another of them becoming Talbot Square. It was developed in the early Victorian era, and along with Talbot Square became a residential location for the wealthy. At the eastern end was All Saints' Church, built in 1847, but later demolished and replaced with the more modern Edna House apartments. At the western end of the square, across London Street, is the Sawyer's Arms pub. Numbers 2-22, terraces of 1840s stuccoed housing, are now Grade II listed as are the slightly later numbers 24–42. Notable residents have included the scientist Hertha Ayrton who live there from 1903 to 1923 and is now commemorated with a blue plaque.

Sussex Gardens is located in Paddington in Central London. It is a street that runs runs westwards from the Edgware Road, for most of the way as a broad avenue until it reaches an area near Lancaster Gate where it becomes a garden square. Part of the City of Westminster, it is located in the residential area of Tyburnia north of Hyde Park. Streets running off it include Westbourne Terrace, Talbot Square, London Street and Southwick Street. Sussex Gardens provides the main axis for the area.The street was originally known as Grand Junction Street, named after the nearby Grand Junction Waterworks. It was laid out as part of the ambitious street plan for Tyburnia in 1809, designed by the architect Samuel Pepys Cockerell. Delays, partly caused by the Panic of 1825, meant that the street wasn't fully completed until the early Victorian Era to a revised plan by George Gutch. The first houses were available for lease in 1826 at the Edgeware Road end. The space in between it and the Uxbridge Road to the south was half laid out by 1839. Before long the street and surrounding terrain was a fashionable residential centre. St James's Church was constructed as the new parish church of Paddington, the current building of today designed in 1881-82 largely replacing an earlier building established in the early 1840s. By the twentieth century, the street had become known for the large number of boarding houses and hotels located on it. Like the nearby Sussex Square, Sussex Place and Sussex Mews, it derives its name from the title of the Duke of Sussex, younger brother of George IV and William IV.

Paddington Basin is the name given to a long canal basin, and its surrounding area, in Paddington, London. The basin commences 500 m south of the junction known as Little Venice, of the Regent's Canal and the Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal and runs for a similar length east–west. It was opened in 1801, with Paddington being chosen as the site of the basin because of its position on the New Road which led to the east, providing for onward transport. In its heyday, the basin was a major transshipment facility, and a hive of activity. Since 2000, the basin has been the centre of a major redevelopment as part of the wider Paddington Waterside scheme and is surrounded by modern buildings.

The Marquis of Clanricarde is a Grade II listed public house at 36 Southwick Street, Paddington, London, W2.It was built in the early-mid 19th century.

The Merchant Square Footbridge (also known as The Fan Bridge) is a moveable pedestrian bridge spanning a canal in Paddington, London. It is architecturally and mechanically unique, being composed of five side-by side sections of varying lengths, with offset pivots to accommodate the varying lengths. When opened, the segments are brought to varying angles of elevation. The visual effect when opened has been likened to that of a Japanese fan. Not to be confused with the Fan Bridge which crosses Holland Brook (formerly known as the Holland River) between Little Clacton and Great Holland in Essex (UK) (OS Grid Ref: TM 19710 18667 / Latitude 51°49'24"N Longitude 1°11'12"E). This was the lowest crossing-point until the Gunfleet estuary was reclaimed in the 1700s.

1 Merchant Square is a 42-storey, 140 m tall building under construction in Paddington, London. When complete, it will be the tallest building in the City of Westminster, with a hotel and 222 apartments.Planned were revised in 2019.
