Cressing Temple

The Barley Barn is an architecturally important medieval barn, part of a complex of farm buildings at Cressing Temple, Essex, England. The barn was built for the Knights Templar in the early thirteenth century. It has been claimed to be the oldest standing timber-framed barn in the world.

White Notley railway station is on the Braintree Branch Line in the East of England, serving the village of White Notley, Essex. It is 41 miles 60 chains (67.19 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and it is situated between Witham to the south and Cressing to the north. Its three-letter station code is WNY. The platform has an operational length for twelve-coach trains. In 2018/19 it was the least used station in Essex.The station is currently managed by Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains serving it. Silver End is a village in Braintree, Essex, in England. It was conceived as a model village by the industrialist Francis Henry Crittall who established a Crittall Windows Ltd factory there to manufacture components for metal windows.

Faulkbourne Hall is a Grade I listed manor house in the village of Faulkbourne in Essex. It is the centre of the manor of Faulkbourne, first recorded under Edward the Confessor. Its grounds contain the parish church, which is dedicated to Saint Germanus. The earliest surviving parts of Faulkbourne Hall, a red-bricked building with turrets, date from the 15th century. Sir Edward Bullock purchased the Hall and the manor of Faulkbourne in 1637 and made substantial additions to the building. Further extensions were made in the 19th century. The Hall is considered a fine specimen of early Tudor red-brick design. Its exterior holds a number of metalled vanes in the form of flags bearing the initials of the Bullock family, which owned the Hall from 1637 to 1897.

Cressing is a village and civil parish in the Braintree district of Essex, England. Within the parish is the village of Tye Green and the hamlet of Hawbush Green. Cressing Temple is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south from Cressing village, and less than 1 mile east from the village of White Notley. It is nestled between Braintree and Witham, just a couple of miles or one train stop to Braintree Shopping Village, formerly Freeport. The parish contains two churches, one public house (Fowlers Farm), one Restaurant (Il Salice), which is currently one of the top rated restaurants in Essex as of 2022, and a business park. A men's Sunday League and youth football teams play at Cressing Sports and Social Club in Tye Green. Cressing railway station, on the Braintree Branch Line, is at the west of the parish. Sir Evelyn Wood (1838–1919), a Field Marshal and Victoria Cross recipient, was born at Cressing.

White Notley is a parish in Essex, England. The settlement (which includes the outlying hamlet of The Green) lies equidistant between the towns of Witham and Braintree amongst arable farmland, 4 miles (6.4 km) in each direction. White Notley is a quintessentially English village with a small primary school, public house, railway station, post office, village hall and a 10th-century church. The village has a population of fewer than five hundred inhabitants, but at the 2011 Census the population of the civil parish was measured at 522. Railway service is provided at the White Notley railway station on the Braintree Branch Line. It forms part of the Parliamentary Constituency of Witham.

New Rickstones Academy (NRA) is an academy secondary school in Witham, Essex. It is the smaller of the two major comprehensive schools in Witham. During 2012 the school moved into a new building, constructed by Carillion. An Ofsted inspection took place on 17 and 18 January 2013. The school is sponsored by the Academies Enterprise Trust. During 2015, the school received a "Good" in its Ofsted report.

Royal Air Force Rivenhall or more simply RAF Rivenhall is a former Royal Air Force station located in Essex, England. The airfield is located approximately 4 miles (6.4 km) south-southeast of Braintree, Essex, England. Opened in 1942, it was used by both the Royal Air Force and United States Army Air Forces. During the war, it was used primarily as a combat airfield with various fighter and bomber units. After the war, it was closed in 1946 and kept in reserve until 1956. Today, the remains of the airfield are located on private property with the northern half being turned into a quarry.

Tye Green is a village in the civil parish of Cressing and the Braintree district of Essex, England. In 2018, it had an estimated population of 1,114.
