Cressing is a village and civil parish in the Braintree district of Essex, England. Within the parish is the village of Tye Green and the hamlet of Hawbush Green. Cressing Temple is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south from Cressing village, and less than 1 mile east from the village of White Notley. It is nestled between Braintree and Witham, just a couple of miles or one train stop to Braintree Shopping Village, formerly Freeport. The parish contains two churches, one public house (Fowlers Farm), one Restaurant (Il Salice), which is currently one of the top rated restaurants in Essex as of 2022, and a business park. A men's Sunday League and youth football teams play at Cressing Sports and Social Club in Tye Green. Cressing railway station, on the Braintree Branch Line, is at the west of the parish. Sir Evelyn Wood (1838–1919), a Field Marshal and Victoria Cross recipient, was born at Cressing.

Black Notley is a village and civil parish in Essex, England. It is located approximately 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) south of Braintree and is 9 miles (14 km) north-northeast from the county town of Chelmsford. According to the 2011 census including Young's End it had a population of 2,478.

White Notley railway station is on the Braintree Branch Line in the East of England, serving the village of White Notley, Essex. It is 41 miles 60 chains (67.19 km) down the line from London Liverpool Street and it is situated between Witham to the south and Cressing to the north. Its three-letter station code is WNY. The platform has an operational length for twelve-coach trains. In 2018/19 it was the least used station in Essex.The station is currently managed by Greater Anglia, which also operates all trains serving it. White Notley is a parish in Essex, England. The settlement (which includes the outlying hamlet of The Green) lies equidistant between the towns of Witham and Braintree amongst arable farmland, 4 miles (6.4 km) in each direction. White Notley is a quintessentially English village with a small primary school, public house, railway station, post office, village hall and a 10th-century church. The village has a population of fewer than five hundred inhabitants, but at the 2011 Census the population of the civil parish was measured at 522. Railway service is provided at the White Notley railway station on the Braintree Branch Line. It forms part of the Parliamentary Constituency of Witham.

Braintree Sixth Form is a school Sixth Form centre for educating 16- to 19-year-olds in Braintree, Essex, England. It is located approximately 15 miles east of Stansted Airport in north Essex. Up until 1981 post 16 education in Braintree took place in Sixth Forms located in each of the town's schools. In 1981 Essex County Council closed the separate Sixth Forms at the Schools in Braintree and moved post 16 education to a new purpose-built FE (Further Education) college, Braintree College, later becoming part of the Colchester Institute. The opening of Braintree Sixth Form in 2009 marked a return to school-based Sixth Form education in Braintree.

Bocking Blackwater is a 13.1 hectare Local Nature Reserve in Braintree in Essex. It is owned and managed by Braintree District Council. In 2016 the council proposed to extend the boundaries of the site.The site is a long narrow strip along the south bank of the River Blackwater between Bradford Bridge and the A131 road. It has a wide variety of plant species, including veteran trees, and its habitats are wetland, woodland, scrub, wildflower meadows and grassland.There is access at many points along its boundary.

Notley High School & Braintree Sixth Form is situated in Braintree in Essex, England. The school was built in the early 1970s. Notley High School was an 11-18 school with sixth form until 1992, when the sixth was closed and all sixth form pupils went to the new Braintree Tertiary College. It was then for ages 11–16 school until September 2009, when Braintree Sixth Form opened for 16- to 19-year-old students. In August 2009, the school became an academy. Notley High School is the lead partner in the Braintree Sixth Form, which is a purpose-built post-16 provision for the youth of Braintree. It opened in September 2009 admitting students from Notley High School and other local schools. Recent Ofsted visits reported the school as “inadequate”.
