Circle Centre Mall

Indianapolis News Building, also known as the Goodman Jewelers Building, is a historic commercial building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was designed by architect Jarvis Hunt (1863–1941) and built in 1909–1910. It is a ten-story, rectangular, Neo-Gothic style brick and terra cotta building. It is three bays wide and 10 bays deep. The top floor features a corbelled terra cotta balcony, Tudor-like window openings, and a Gothic parapet. It is located next to the Taylor Carpet Company Building. The building housed the Indianapolis News until 1949.: 3–5 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is located in the Washington Street–Monument Circle Historic District.

The Indianapolis Artsgarden is a glassed dome spanning the intersection of Washington and Illinois streets in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It serves not only as a pedestrian connector between Circle Centre Mall and nearby office buildings and hotels but also as a venue for the display and performance of artistic and musical works (more than 300 performances take place in the Artsgarden each year). In addition, the Artsgarden houses the Cultural Concierge, which provides local arts and cultural information, maps, and visitor guides. The structure, including the walkways connecting it to the adjacent buildings, is owned and operated by the Arts Council of Indianapolis. The Artsgarden was designed by Ehrenkrantz Eckstut & Kuhn Architects who also designed the adjacent Circle Centre Mall. Blackburn Architects collaborated on the design and execution. The $12 million cost was funded by the Lilly Endowment. The floor of the Artsgarden stands 17 feet (5.2 m) above the intersection. A series of arched steel trusses creates a graduated set of glassed vaults, the tallest of which is 75 feet (23 m) above the floor and 95 feet (29 m) above the street. The design yields a total free-span length of 110 feet (34 m) within the dome. A total of 32,000 square feet (3,000 m2) of glass is used in the structure to give it an airy, open feel. The entire dome is set on two pairs of 185-foot (56 m) plate girders that diagonally span the intersection.When initially constructed in 1995, the Artsgarden connected the second level of Circle Centre Mall on the southeast corner of the intersection with an upper level of the Claypool Courts on the northwest corner, while stairways provided access to the ground-level sidewalks on the northeast and southwest corners. In 2006, the Conrad Indianapolis was built on the site of the small park that had been on the northeast corner and the stairway there was replaced with a direct connection to the hotel. In 2011 construction was started on a connector to the 16-story PNC Center and Hyatt Regency hotel complex on the southwest corner. The owners of the complex in 1995 had declined to help pay for the connector; in 2010 an agreement was reached to split the $1.2 million cost, completing the original concept of the Artsgarden. The connector was completed in January 2012.

Conrad Indianapolis is a high-rise luxury hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana. It was completed in 2006 and has 23 floors. The building includes street-level retail, 247 hotel rooms, and 18 residential condominiums. Conrad Hotels is one of the luxury brands of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, and Conrad Indianapolis is one of nine Conrad Hotels in the United States, the other eight being located in Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, New York City, Washington, DC, Nashville, Tennessee, Los Angeles, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2007 and 2008, Conde Nast Traveler ranked Conrad Indianapolis in the top 100 in the world and Expedia Insiders’ 2009 Select list of the world's best hotels named Conrad as number one in the United States.The Conrad Indianapolis is connected to the downtown skywalk system via the Indianapolis Artsgarden. According to the Indianapolis Business Journal, the Conrad Indianapolis has 150 full-time employees and was last renovated in 2015. As of 2020, one dining option was located in the hotel, The Capital Grille.

Taylor Carpet Company Building is a historic commercial building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1897, and is a seven-story, rectangular, Beaux-Arts style building. The top three stories were added in 1906. The front facade is faced with buff terra cotta and the upper stories feature large Chicago style window openings. The first two floors are faced with an Art Moderne style stone veneer. It is located next to the Indianapolis News Building. The building housed the Taylor Carpet Company, in operation until 1936.: 3–4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is located in the Washington Street-Monument Circle Historic District.

The Public Interest Legal Foundation (PILF) is an American conservative legal group based in Alexandria, Virginia, which is known for suing states and local governments to purge voters from election rolls. The nonprofit was constituted in 2012. PILF asserts that "large numbers of ineligible aliens are registering to vote and casting ballots", although lists that they have displayed of such supposed voters prove to actually include American natives who are eligible voters. PILF said its lists had been based on state government lists of declared "non-citizens" removed from local voter rolls, but some U.S. citizens were wrongfully purged in the process. The group has made false claims about the extent of voter fraud in the United States, and the organization has published the information of eligible voters online, including Social Security numbers, falsely accusing them of being fraudulent voters.

John Tucker (born around 1800) was the victim of a racial terror lynching that took place on July 4, 1845, in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Tucker was a free Black man, a husband and a father, who was working as a farmer at the time of his death. Tucker was attacked and killed by three drunken white men in front of a crowd. Two of the men were arrested for Tucker's murder, but only one was convicted.

L.S. Ayres Annex Warehouse, also known as Elliott's Block Nos. 14-22, is a historic warehouse building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1875 by the L.S. Ayres department store, and is a three-story, rectangular Italianate style brick building with an elaborate cast iron first story storefront. Other decorative elements are in stone, brick, and sheet metal. It measures 72 feet, 6 inches, wide and 49 feet, 6 inches, deep. It features Corinthian order columns as part of the cast iron facade.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.

Le Méridien Indianapolis is a historic hotel in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a part of the Wholesale District historic district. A hotel has existed on the 123 S. Illinois Street site since 1858 when architect Francis Costigan designed, built, and began operating the 4-story Oriental Hotel. Costigan's hotel was demolished in 1928 and the current 12-story hotel was constructed. It was first known as the Lockerbie, later as the Warren, and then as the Canterbury Hotel from 1983 to 2013. It is attached to the Circle Centre mall, which was constructed around the hotel. In late 2014, it opened as the Le Méridien Indianapolis Hotel.

August Sommer House is a historic home located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1880, and is a two-story, three-bay, Italianate style brick dwelling with rear addition. It sits on an ashlar limestone foundation and has segmental arched windows and a low hipped roof. It features a full-with front porch with cut-work detail. It has been converted to commercial uses.: 2–3 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

Selig's Dry Goods Company Building, also known as Morrisons/Em-roe Sporting Goods Company, is a historic commercial building located at Indianapolis, Indiana. It was built in 1924, and is a seven-story, rectangular, Beaux-Arts style building with a white terra cotta and aluminum front facade. It was remodeled in 1933. The building features tinted plate glass windows and a terra cotta Roman thermal window-like screen at the top floor. The building housed the Selig's Dry Goods Company, in operation until 1933.: 3–4 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. It is located in the Washington Street-Monument Circle Historic District.

H. P. Wasson and Company, aka Wasson's, was an Indianapolis, Indiana, based department store chain founded by Hiram P. Wasson. Its flagship store, the H. P. Wasson & Company Building, was built in 1937 and is listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

The Hyatt Regency Indianapolis is part of PNC Center, a mixed-use high-rise complex in Indianapolis, Indiana. The complex rises 22 floors and 268 feet (82 m) in height, and is currently the 17th-tallest building in the city.
