Bryn Pydew

Bodysgallen Hall is a manor house in Conwy county borough, north Wales, near the village of Llanrhos. Since 2008 the house has been owned by The National Trust. It is a Grade I listed building, currently used as a hotel. This listed historical building derives primarily from the 17th century, and has several later additions. Bodysgallen was constructed as a tower house in the Middle Ages to serve as defensive support for nearby Conwy Castle. According to tradition, the site of Bodysgallen was the 5th century AD stronghold of Cadwallon Lawhir, King of Gwynedd, who had wide-ranging exploits as far as Northumberland. The ruins of Cadwallon Lawhir's residence are on a woodland knoll above the present Bodysgallen Hall. By 1835 it was a ruin totally overgrown by thorns. According to the ancient record of Caernarvon, Bod Caswallon (Bodysgallen) was one of the townships called Tre Welyog, meaning it was a unit of hereditary land (gwely) held in common by members of a wider family unit in medieval Wales, which was often divided and subdivided among heirs to the fourth generation; with the passage of time some of the smaller landholders might be "bought out" and become tenants of a larger estate. This possibly might have been one of three gwelyau, originally belonging to Gloddaeth.

Marle Hall (also Marl Hall) is a Grade II listed Georgian building in Conwy County Borough, North Wales, situated close to Llandudno Junction and Snowdonia National Park. Built by Sir Hugh Williams, 5th Baronet, Marle Hall later became a convalescent home, and in 1971 was bought by Warwickshire County Council, who used it as an educational outward bound centre that could be hired by schools in the county. Warwickshire County Council sold the property in March 2022, citing the high maintenance cost, its under use, and the large amount of work that would be required to modernise the building.

Aberconwy is a constituency of the Senedd. First created for the former Assembly's 2007 election. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. It is one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Aberconwy is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2019 by Robin Millar, a Conservative.The seat was created by the Welsh Boundary Commission for the 2010 general election, and replaced the old north Wales seat of Conwy. The same boundaries have been used for the Aberconwy Senedd constituency since the 2007 Welsh Assembly election. The constituency is set to be abolished, as part of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies and under the June 2023 final recommendations of the Boundary Commission for Wales for the next United Kingdom general election. The entire constituency would be part of Bangor Aberconwy.

St David's College is a private, boarding and day, middle and high school occupying Gloddaeth Hall in Llanrhos, Llandudno, north Wales. The school was founded by John Mayor in 1965 with the aim of offering a whole-person education based on Christian principles and outdoor education. The school also supports children and young adults with learning difficulties and has a whole-school approach to dyslexia with emphasis on developing individual talents.

Gloddaeth Hall originated as a large country house in Llandudno, Caernarfonshire (now Conwy), Wales. It is designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building. It stands on land which had been owned by the Mostyn family since the 15th century. The core of the building is a 16th-century hall and two storey solar block, built of stone rubble with freestone dressings. There are gabled stone slate roofs. The hall is open to the hammer beam roof. The lower room of the solar has 16th century panelling, the upper room has a 17th century panelling. A wing to the east was added around 1700.In the 19th century, further additions were made to the building by William Nesfield, and John Douglas, who designed a new west wing for Augusta, Lady Mostyn in 1889.A 17th century dovecote remains. Some elements of the formal gardens to the south-east may also be 17th century. The gardens are designated Grade I on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.The hall now forms part of St David's College, a mixed sex independent boarding and day school for pupils aged 9–19. Tennis player Angela Buxton attended the school.

Glanwydden is a small village located between Llandudno and Colwyn Bay in Conwy county borough, north Wales.

The Creuddyn Peninsula (Welsh: Y Creuddyn) is a small peninsula in Conwy County Borough in Wales. It includes Llandudno, Rhos-on-Sea, Deganwy, Penrhyn Bay and Llandudno Junction. The combined population of the peninsula is 38,952. It is bordered roughly by the Irish Sea, the River Conwy, Conwy Bay and the A55 expressway. The Great Orme lies at the end of the peninsula, and nearby is the Little Orme. There are several limestone hills of around 100 metres in height, including Bryn Euryn, Bryn Pydew, Mynydd Pant, Coed Gaer, Bryniau, and Deganwy Castle. The Great Orme reaches 207 metres, and the Little Orme 141 metres. The area is usually called simply Y Creuddyn, being the Welsh name of the medieval commote (an administrative unit within a cantref) roughly corresponding to the peninsula itself, though somewhat larger.The Welsh-medium secondary school Ysgol y Creuddyn is situated on the peninsula.

Ysgol y Creuddyn (Welsh pronunciation: [ˈəskɔl ə ˈkrɛɨðɨn]) is a Welsh-medium secondary school, situated in Penrhyn Bay outside Llandudno, Wales, named after the Creuddyn peninsula. The school was founded on Wednesday, the 2nd of September 1981 with 218 students, and is now home to over 600 students. Students are bilingual, with all subjects taught in the Welsh language (apart from English and French lessons) up to GCSE level. The school is the predominant Welsh language school in the area, and it serves pupils from a wide area including Abergele, Colwyn Bay, Betws yn Rhos, Conwy, Llandudno, Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr and Eglwysbach. The school teaches children from the ages of 11 to 18, and is well known for students attaining successful grades at GCSE and A-level.

Ysgol Glanwydden is a Welsh Primary school in Glanwydden, near Llandudno, for 3-11 year olds. The school celebrated its hundred-year anniversary in 2010, with the building being completed in 1910 and opening to students in spring 1911. In October 2010 the school had 274 pupils.

Llangystennin (sometimes spelt Llangwstennin) is a rural parish to the south-east of Llandudno and Llanrhos in Conwy County Borough, north Wales. Llangystennin includes Llangwstennin Hall, the villages of Mochdre, Pabo and Bryn Pydew and the small town of Llandudno Junction. The parish takes its name from St. Cystennin (Constantine) who is said to be a son of St. Helen of Caernarfon (Elen Luyddog) together with whom and with his brother St. Peblig he is credited with introducing into Wales in the 5th century the Celtic form of monasticism from Gaul.

Conwy RSPB reserve is a nature reserve of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds situated on the east side of the Conwy estuary in Conwy county borough, North Wales. It covers 47 hectares (114 acres) and protects a variety of habitats including grassland, scrubland, reedbeds, salt marsh and mudflats. It was created as compensation for the destruction of areas of wildlife habitat during the construction of the A55 road tunnel under the estuary between 1986 and 1991. Waste from dredging was dumped onto the site which was later landscaped to create two large pools and several smaller ones. The reserve opened to the public on 14 April 1995 and facilities for visitors now include a visitor centre, café and three hides. A farmers' market is held on the reserve car park each month. Over 220 species of bird have been recorded on the reserve, including lapwing, little ringed plover, skylark and reed warbler. Large numbers of ducks and waders are present outside the breeding season, together with water rails and a large roost of starlings. Vagrant birds have included the stilt sandpiper, Terek sandpiper, broad-billed sandpiper and alpine swift. Other wildlife includes otter, stoat and weasel along with 11 species of dragonfly and damselfly and 22 different butterflies. The reserve has become increasingly well-vegetated and 273 species of plant have been found. Stands of common reed and areas of willow and alder have been planted.
