Aberconwy (UK Parliament constituency)

Aberconwy is a constituency of the Senedd. First created for the former Assembly's 2007 election. It elects one Member of the Senedd by the first past the post method of election. It is one of nine constituencies in the North Wales electoral region, which elects four additional members, in addition to nine constituency members, to produce a degree of proportional representation for the region as a whole.

Bodysgallen Hall is a manor house in Conwy county borough, north Wales, near the village of Llanrhos. Since 2008 the house has been owned by The National Trust. It is a Grade I listed building, currently used as a hotel. This listed historical building derives primarily from the 17th century, and has several later additions. Bodysgallen was constructed as a tower house in the Middle Ages to serve as defensive support for nearby Conwy Castle. According to tradition, the site of Bodysgallen was the 5th century AD stronghold of Cadwallon Lawhir, King of Gwynedd, who had wide-ranging exploits as far as Northumberland. The ruins of Cadwallon Lawhir's residence are on a woodland knoll above the present Bodysgallen Hall. By 1835 it was a ruin totally overgrown by thorns. According to the ancient record of Caernarvon, Bod Caswallon (Bodysgallen) was one of the townships called Tre Welyog, meaning it was a unit of hereditary land (gwely) held in common by members of a wider family unit in medieval Wales, which was often divided and subdivided among heirs to the fourth generation; with the passage of time some of the smaller landholders might be "bought out" and become tenants of a larger estate. This possibly might have been one of three gwelyau, originally belonging to Gloddaeth.

The Creuddyn Peninsula (Welsh: Y Creuddyn) is a small peninsula in Conwy County Borough in Wales. It includes Llandudno, Rhos-on-Sea, Deganwy, Penrhyn Bay and Llandudno Junction. The combined population of the peninsula is 38,952. It is bordered roughly by the Irish Sea, the River Conwy, Conwy Bay and the A55 expressway. The Great Orme lies at the end of the peninsula, and nearby is the Little Orme. There are several limestone hills of around 100 metres in height, including Bryn Euryn, Bryn Pydew, Mynydd Pant, Coed Gaer, Bryniau, and Deganwy Castle. The Great Orme reaches 207 metres, and the Little Orme 141 metres. The area is usually called simply Y Creuddyn, being the Welsh name of the medieval commote (an administrative unit within a cantref) roughly corresponding to the peninsula itself, though somewhat larger.The Welsh-medium secondary school Ysgol y Creuddyn is situated on the peninsula.

Gloddaeth Hall originated as a large country house in Llandudno, Caernarfonshire (now Conwy), Wales. It is designated by Cadw as a Grade I listed building. It stands on land which had been owned by the Mostyn family since the 15th century. The core of the building is a 16th-century hall and two storey solar block, built of stone rubble with freestone dressings. There are gabled stone slate roofs. The hall is open to the hammer beam roof. The lower room of the solar has 16th century panelling, the upper room has a 17th century panelling. A wing to the east was added around 1700.In the 19th century, further additions were made to the building by William Nesfield, and John Douglas, who designed a new west wing for Augusta, Lady Mostyn in 1889.A 17th century dovecote remains. Some elements of the formal gardens to the south-east may also be 17th century. The gardens are designated Grade I on the Cadw/ICOMOS Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in Wales.The hall now forms part of St David's College, a mixed sex independent boarding and day school for pupils aged 9–19. Tennis player Angela Buxton attended the school.

St David's College is a private, boarding and day, middle and high school occupying Gloddaeth Hall in Llanrhos, Llandudno, north Wales. The school was founded by John Mayor in 1965 with the aim of offering a whole-person education based on Christian principles and outdoor education. The school also supports children and young adults with learning difficulties and has a whole-school approach to dyslexia with emphasis on developing individual talents.

Marle Hall (also Marl Hall) is a Grade II listed Georgian building in Conwy County Borough, North Wales, situated close to Llandudno Junction and Snowdonia National Park. Built by Sir Hugh Williams, 5th Baronet, Marle Hall later became a convalescent home, and in 1971 was bought by Warwickshire County Council, who used it as an educational outward bound centre that could be hired by schools in the county. Warwickshire County Council sold the property in March 2022, citing the high maintenance cost, its under use, and the large amount of work that would be required to modernise the building.

Llanrhos (English: 'Church on the moor') is a village in the community of Conwy, in Conwy County Borough, Wales. The village lies between the towns of Conwy and Llandudno. Llanrhos was a civil parish from 1894 until 1974. The area was formerly part of a larger parish called Eglwys Rhos or Eglwysrhos, being an old variant name for the same village. The ancient parish included Deganwy, the Craig-y-Don district of Llandudno, the Little Orme and Penrhyn Bay. The area was in the administrative county of Caernarfonshire prior to 1974.

Marl is the name of one of the electoral wards in the community of Conwy, Conwy County Borough, Wales. It elects representatives to Conwy County Borough Council and Conwy Town Council. The Marl ward covers part of the town of Llandudno Junction to the east of the River Conwy and is one of four county wards included within the boundaries of the community. The wards of Deganwy and Pensarn border Marl, also to the east of the river. Conwy ward lies on the opposite side of the river, including the walled town of Conwy. To the north of Marl is the Llandudno ward of Penrhyn.According to the 2011 UK Census the population of the ward was 3,879.

Bryn Pydew is a small settlement to the east of Llandudno Junction in North Wales. The limestone hill of Bryn Pydew reaches 128 metres (420 feet) above sea level. The population is around 451 people. Bodysgallen Hall is nearby. Bryn Pydew is home to one of the 36 sites of the North Wales Wildlife Trust, in addition to the nearby Marl Hall Woods.

Craig-y-Don is a suburb of Llandudno, a coastal seaside resort in Conwy county borough, north Wales. It is also an electoral ward to Conwy County Borough Council and Llandudno Town Council. It is also part of the parish of Llanrhos.

Llandudno Junction (Welsh: Cyffordd Llandudno) is a station serving the village of Llandudno Junction on the North Wales Main Line between Crewe and Holyhead. The station is managed by Transport for Wales Rail, although Avanti West Coast services also stop here. It is a junction for trains to Llandudno and the Conwy Valley line; it is one of the busiest stations in North Wales, surpassed only in passenger numbers by Llandudno, Bangor and Wrexham General.

Llandudno Junction (Welsh: Cyffordd Llandudno), once known as Tremarl, is a village in Conwy County Borough, Wales. It is part of the ancient parish of Llangystennin, and it is located south of Llandudno. It adjoins Deganwy and is to the east of the walled town of Conwy, which is on the opposite side of the River Conwy. The population is 6,722 (2011) and is part of the community of Conwy, and comprises the wards of Marl and Pensarn (Llandudno Junction). The built-up area of Llandudno Junction and Deganwy had a population of 10,658.The village grew up around Llandudno Junction, which is a junction between the Crewe-Holyhead line and the Llandudno-Blaenau Ffestiniog line. There are through trains from Manchester to Llandudno, but passengers travelling from London, Cardiff, or Holyhead to Llandudno usually have to change trains at Llandudno Junction. Llandudno Junction, in addition to its passenger interchange, had a major steam locomotive servicing depot and extensive goods facilities. This railway depot was called 6G, and a new section of the A546 (carrying the name "Ffordd 6G Road") now crosses the site. The site of the depot and goods yard has been redeveloped, now accommodating a business park, fast food outlets, a leisure centre, a Cineworld multiplex cinema, and a Tesco supermarket. Llandudno Junction has recently added a Lidl store, too. Local employment opportunities changed significantly in the latter quarter of the 20th century owing to the loss not only of the railway depots but also of a major electrical manufacturing facility (Hotpoint), of which part of the old factory site is under planning application for three more Car Dealerships. Another part of the factory site was bought by the Welsh Government and construction began in 2007 on a new office building that houses around 525 employees, including about 100 tourism, transport and enterprise jobs which were relocated from Cardiff. The keys to the building were officially handed over from the developers in May 2010. The Old Station Hotel stands opposite the railway station. It is known locally as 'The Killer' or in Welsh 'Y Killer'. One version of the myth on how it got its name is that train drivers would get drunk there, then drive trains, effectively turning them into possible 'Killers'. Another version states that this is where the railway workers would spend their lunch breaks, i.e. 'killed time'. In September 2016, the two primary schools in Llandudno Junction, Ysgol Maelgwn and Ysgol Nant-y-Coed, amalgamated to form a new school, Ysgol Awel y Mynydd. Llandudno Junction F.C. are the local football team. The village was previously home to Welsh Cup winners Borough United F.C.
