Firth Park Academy is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield, England. It is partnered with Longley Park Sixth Form, HBH Academy Trust, Beck Primary School, Hucklow Primary School and others.

Longley Park Sixth Form is a 16-18 academy and was previously a further education sixth form in the Longley area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It is not to be confused with the multi-campus Sheffield College. Longley Park Sixth Form was established in 2004 with circa 1,200 students enrolled. It is part of the Brigantia Learning Trust, an academies partnership with feeder school Hinde House 3-16 School.

Firth Park ward—which includes the districts of Firth Park, Longley, Parson Cross and parts of Wincobank—is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England located in the northern part of the city and covering an area of 1.66 square miles (4.3 km2). The population of this ward in 2011 was 21,141 people in 8,602 households.Firth Park is one of the four-and-a-half wards that make up the current Sheffield Hillsborough and Brightside Parliamentary constituency.

Firth Park is a public park in the Firth Park area of the City of Sheffield in England. It is located 2.33 miles (3.75 km) north-northeast of the city centre. The main entrance to the park is on Hucklow Road although there are several entrances on Firth Park Road to the east and one on Vivian Road to the south. Established in 1875, the park gave its name to the Sheffield suburb of Firth Park, a social housing estate constructed around the area of the park in the 1920s and 1930s.

Grange Lane railway station was a railway station located on the South Yorkshire Railway line between Sheffield and Barnsley in South Yorkshire, England. At the time of its building it was located alongside the lane from which it takes its name with few houses nearby. From the early 1890s it became the interchange point with coal traffic from Grange Colliery at Kimberworth in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. The colliery was sunk in 1891 and coal production ceased in 1963. The colliery site is now Grange Park golf course. The station, opened in June 1855, consisted of two flanking platforms with buildings on each. The line and the crossing gates were controlled from a signal box situated at the end of the platform adjacent to the gates. The station was closed on 7 December 1953 and most buildings existed until late 2011; the station building is a private residence.

Ecclesfield East railway station was built by the South Yorkshire Railway on their "Blackburn Valley" line between Sheffield Wicker and Barnsley. The station was intended to serve the parish of Ecclesfield, near Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, although it is some distance from the centre of the village. The original "Ecclesfield" railway station was opened in September 1854 and closed just two years later. It was replaced by a new station opened in 1876, with buildings and staggered platforms linked by a footbridge and cost £1985 (including sidings and approach road). These buildings are identical to those at Meadowhall although it had staggered platforms. By this time the line was worked by the Manchester Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway and the trains ran into their Sheffield Victoria Station. The station closed on 7 December 1953 and has been completely dismantled. The nearby station of Ecclesfield West was initially also known as Ecclesfield.

Longley Park is a public park within the City of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The park lies between the suburbs of Longley and Firth Park, four km north of the city centre. It covers an area of just under 52 acres (21 hectares) and is the third largest public park in Sheffield.

On 5 May 2016, a by-election was held in the UK Parliamentary constituency of Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough in South Yorkshire. It was caused by the death of the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) Harry Harpham on 4 February 2016. Harpham had been the Labour Party MP for the seat since the 2015 general election. The by-election took place on the same day as local elections in the United Kingdom.

Sheffield, Brightside and Hillsborough is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament by Gill Furniss, a member of the Labour Party.

Concord Park is a large park in the North of Sheffield, England, between Shiregreen and Wincobank. The park consists of Concord Park Golf Course, a country park and Woolley Woods, bordered by Ecclesfield Road. A historic cruck barn lies at the entrance to the park, the last remnant of the Mediaeval hamlet of Oaksfold.

Hinde House School is a mixed all-through school for pupils aged 3 to 16. The school is located in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Hinde House was the first state-funded all-through school for both primary and secondary school education in the country. In 2005, the school moved to a new building and expanded its primary provision in 2012. In July 2013, the school converted to academy status and is now part of the Brigantia Learning Trust which includes the nearby Concord Junior School and Wincobank Nursery and Infant School.The school mainly admits pupils from the Darnall, Shiregreen, Tinsley and Wincobank areas of Sheffield, and offers a range of GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils. The school is built on the site of the former Hinde House Secondary Modern School, dating from 1956, which amalgamated with Owler Lane Intermediate School in 1963 to become Hinde House Comprehensive School.

Ecclesfield West railway station was a railway station in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. The station served the communities of Ecclesfield and Shiregreen and was situated on the Midland Railway, lying between Chapeltown and Brightside. The station was opened in 1897 along with the line from Wincobank Junctions to Cudworth. It was initially known as Ecclesfield, but was renamed in 1950 to avoid confusion with the Ecclesfield East railway station. It closed in 1967, although it was later used for excursions until 1968.
