Firth Park (ward)

Firth Park is a public park in the Firth Park area of the City of Sheffield in England. It is located 2.33 miles (3.75 km) north-northeast of the city centre. The main entrance to the park is on Hucklow Road although there are several entrances on Firth Park Road to the east and one on Vivian Road to the south. Established in 1875, the park gave its name to the Sheffield suburb of Firth Park, a social housing estate constructed around the area of the park in the 1920s and 1930s.

Sheffield, Brightside was a parliamentary constituency in the City of Sheffield. Created for the 1885 general election, and replaced at the 2010 general election by the new constituency of Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough, it elected one Member of Parliament (MP) to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, using the first-past-the-post voting system. In its first fifty years, Brightside returned a variety of Liberal, Conservative and Labour MPs. However, from 1945 onwards, it became one of the Labour Party's safest seats in the United Kingdom. It was represented by David Blunkett from 1987 until its abolition; he continued to hold the successor seat until he retired in 2015, becoming the seat's longest-serving MP.

Page Hall is a suburb of north-eastern Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It falls within the Burngreave ward of the city is surrounded by the suburbs of Fir Vale, Firth Park, Grimesthorpe and Pitsmoor.

Firth Park Academy is a coeducational secondary school with academy status, located in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield, England. It is partnered with Longley Park Sixth Form, HBH Academy Trust, Beck Primary School, Hucklow Primary School and others.

On 5 May 2016, a by-election was held in the UK Parliamentary constituency of Sheffield Brightside and Hillsborough in South Yorkshire. It was caused by the death of the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) Harry Harpham on 4 February 2016. Harpham had been the Labour Party MP for the seat since the 2015 general election. The by-election took place on the same day as local elections in the United Kingdom.

Fir Vale School is a comprehensive secondary school in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England.

Hinde House School is a mixed all-through school for pupils aged 3 to 16. The school is located in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Hinde House was the first state-funded all-through school for both primary and secondary school education in the country. In 2005, the school moved to a new building and expanded its primary provision in 2012. In July 2013, the school converted to academy status and is now part of the Brigantia Learning Trust which includes the nearby Concord Junior School and Wincobank Nursery and Infant School.The school mainly admits pupils from the Darnall, Shiregreen, Tinsley and Wincobank areas of Sheffield, and offers a range of GCSEs as programmes of study for pupils. The school is built on the site of the former Hinde House Secondary Modern School, dating from 1956, which amalgamated with Owler Lane Intermediate School in 1963 to become Hinde House Comprehensive School.

Longley Park Sixth Form is a 16-18 academy and was previously a further education sixth form in the Longley area of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. It is not to be confused with the multi-campus Sheffield College. Longley Park Sixth Form was established in 2004 with circa 1,200 students enrolled. It is part of the Brigantia Learning Trust, an academies partnership with feeder school Hinde House 3-16 School.

At around 07:30 BST on 24 May 2019, police officers were called to a residential property on Gregg House Road in Shiregreen, a northern suburb of Sheffield, South Yorkshire, following reports concerning the welfare of children. Six children were found unconscious inside the property; they were treated at the Sheffield Children's Hospital, where the two oldest children later died. Two people, Brandon Machin, a 38- or 39-year-old man and Sarah Barrass, the 34-year-old mother of the children, were arrested at the property on suspicion of murder.

Wincobank (grid reference SK377910) is an Iron Age hill fort near Wincobank in Sheffield, England.

Shiregreen and Brightside ward—which includes the districts of Brightside, Shiregreen, and Wincobank—is one of the 28 electoral wards in City of Sheffield, England. It is located in the northern part of the city and covers an area of 6.5 km2. The population of this ward in 2011 was 20,826 people in 8,696 households. It is one of the wards making up the Sheffield Brightside parliamentary constituency.
