Seend Ironstone Quarry and Road Cutting

Seend Cleeve Quarry (grid reference ST933609) is a 7.5 acres (3.0 ha) Geological Site of Special Scientific Interest at Seend Cleeve, Wiltshire, England, notified in 1987. It is important for its strata from the Oxfordian stage of the Jurassic period, containing fossil ammonites and bivalves which aid stratigraphy.The site was an iron ore quarry between the middle of the 19th century and the 1960s, and in the 19th century Seend Iron Works was nearby. None of these facilities have been preserved; the site is now pasture.

Seend Locks (grid reference ST933613) are at Seend Cleeve, Wiltshire on the Kennet and Avon Canal, England. They have a combined rise/fall of 38 ft 4ins (11.68m).During the 19th century there were several wharves at Seend primarily serving the Seend Iron Works but these have been disused for many years. The five locks at Seend Cleeve are numbered 17 to 21. The Barge Inn is next to Seend Wharf bridge and between locks 18 and 19.A back pump has been installed to ensure that there is water to fill the locks, the outflow of which is on a road bridge above the top lock.

Seend railway station was near the village of Seend in Wiltshire, England. The station was a stop on the Devizes Branch Line, between Semington and Bromham & Rowde. Its position northwest of the village was chosen to serve the iron ore quarry and iron works at Seend Cleeve.After the completion of the Devizes line, the junction at Holt made the line part of the fastest route from London to the West Country. The line suffered from reduced traffic after the completion in 1900 of the Stert and Westbury Railway between Patney and Chirton station and Westbury, which by-passed the Devizes branch to shorten the London to Plymouth journey by five miles. Seend station and the entire Devizes Branch Line were closed under the Beeching cuts. Both were destroyed in 1970.

Seend Cleeve is a large hamlet or sub-village immediately west of Seend in Wiltshire, England. It lies about 2.3 miles (3.7 km) southeast of the town of Melksham. A Primitive Methodist chapel with Sunday school was built in 1841 at Seend Cleeve. In 1849, the chapel was rebuilt in red brick with ashlar quoins. The chapel closed in 1979 and was converted into a private house in 2012.Seend Cleeve Quarry was a source of brown haematite; since 1987 the quarry has been a Geological Site of Special Scientific Interest. There was an ironworks in the second half of the 19th century, and quarrying continued until 1946.Seend Cleeve has two public houses: the Barge Inn on the Kennet and Avon Canal, and the Brewery Inn.

Seend is a village and civil parish about 3 miles (5 km) southeast of the market town of Melksham, Wiltshire, England. It lies about 3.5 miles (6 km) west of Devizes and 5.5 miles (9 km) northeast of the county town of Trowbridge. The parish includes the sub-village of Seend Cleeve and the hamlets of Inmarsh, Martinslade, Seend Head, Sells Green and The Stocks (the latter being contiguous with Seend Cleeve). Seend village is on a hilltop more than 90 metres (300 ft) above sea level. The hill is bordered to the west and south by Semington Brook, a tributary of the River Avon, and to the east by Summerham Brook, which is a tributary of Semington Brook. The village's High Street is the A361 Trowbridge-Devizes road; the A365 links the A361 with Melksham and passes through Sells Green.

Redstocks is a hamlet in Wiltshire, England; it is in the civil parish of Melksham Without and is 1.7 miles (2.7 km) east of Melksham. From 1886 to 1950 there was a small Wesleyan Methodist chapel.

Bulkington is a village and civil parish in the county of Wiltshire, England. The village is about 4.5 miles (7.2 km) west of Devizes and a similar distance southeast of Melksham. The northern boundary of the parish is the Summerham Brook, and the Semington Brook is the boundary to the west and south. Bulkington was one of the villages featured in the 2003 BBC2 television documentary A Country Parish.

Bromham and Rowde Halt was the railway station serving Bromham and Rowde in Wiltshire, England between 1909 and 1966. The station was a stop on the Devizes Branch Line, between Seend and Devizes. The single-platform halt was at Sells Green in the north-east of Seend parish, close to the Devizes–Melksham road. It handled vegetables grown in the Bromham area, as well as milk. After the completion of the Devizes line in 1858, the junction at Holt allowed the fastest route from London to the West Country. However, the Devizes line lost to competition and returned to a branch line in 1900.

Melksham Oak Community School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form in the south-east outskirts of Melksham, Wiltshire, England, for students aged 11 to 18.

Melksham Town Football Club is a football club based in Melksham, Wiltshire, England. Affiliated to the Wiltshire Football Association, they are currently members of the Southern League Division One South and play at the Oakfield Stadium.

Sandridge is a dispersed rural community to the east of Melksham, Wiltshire, England. It is part of the civil parish of Melksham Without. An Ordnance Survey map of 1961 names a settlement at Sandridge Hill, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) east of Melksham, and a hamlet of Sandridge, 0.25 miles (0.4 km) to the north; as of 2015 these names are no longer in gazetteers and Sandridge refers to a wider area along the A3102, with Sandridge Common identified on road signs near Melksham. A National School was built in 1873 at Sandridge Common, on land given by Ralph Ludlow Lopes and educated children of all ages until 1953; around that time it became known as Forest and Sandridge Church of England Primary School. In 2015, to cater for the eastward expansion of Melksham, the school moved to a new building on the outskirts of the town.

Bowerhill is a village near Melksham, Wiltshire, England, in the civil parish of Melksham Without. Central Bowerhill is approximately 1.75 miles (2.8 km) south of Melksham town centre. Bowerhill has a population of approximately 3,000 and was separated from the town of Melksham by a narrow rural buffer or green swathe until 2022, when most of the buffer was obliterated by housing. To the west of Bowerhill's residential area is a commercial area which developed from a former Royal Air Force training school. Melksham's only secondary school, Melksham Oak Community School, is on the north-east edge of Bowerhill.
