Glororum, Stannington

Stannington Sanatorium was the first purpose-built children's tuberculosis sanatorium in the UK which officially opened on 5 October 1907 near to the village of Stannington, Northumberland. The institution was established by a local charity, The Poor Children's Holiday Association (PCHA), which developed into the modern-day charity Children North East, and also took contributions from local Poor Law Guardians for the upkeep of patients.

Tranwell is a small village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Mitford, in the county of Northumberland, England, about 1 mile (2 km) south west of Morpeth. It lies alongside the A1 road which now bypasses Morpeth. Tranwell is approximately 15 miles from the Newcastle International Airport and over 3 miles away from Morpeth train station. The closest major city to Tranwell is Newcastle upon Tyne. In 1951 the parish had a population of 154.

Clifton is a hamlet in Northumberland, in England. The population is between 20 and 30. It is situated a short distance to the south of Morpeth, on the A1. It forms a trio with Hepscott and Glororum, a series of farms founded by the Brown brothers at the end of the 19th century. However, Clifton as a habitation stretches back earlier. In the 12th century lands were held at Clifton, under Roger de Merlay, by William of Clifton. There was a coaching inn here dating from the 17th century.

Castle Morpeth was a local government district and borough in Northumberland, England. Its administrative centre was the town of Morpeth. The district was formed on 1 April 1974 by the merger of the borough of Morpeth and Morpeth Rural District, along with part of Castle Ward Rural District. The district council was abolished as part of the 2009 structural changes to local government in England effective from 1 April 2009 with responsibilities being transferred to Northumberland County Council, a unitary authority.

County Hall is a municipal building in Morpeth, Northumberland, United Kingdom. It is the offices and meeting place of Northumberland County Council. The current building was completed in April 1981, after the county hall was moved from the old county hall in Newcastle. A statue of a Viking Warrior stands outside the building and was moved there from Doxford Hall.

St Mary's Hospital was a mental health facility near Stannington, Northumberland, England. It was opened in 1910 and closed permanently in 1995. It was finally demolished in 2015.

St Mary’s Park is a housing estate which is being developed in the civil parish of Stannington near Morpeth, Northumberland, England. It is located about 2 miles (3 km) west of Stannington and 4 miles (6 km) south or Morpeth and was the location of St Mary's Hospital, a former psychiatric hospital. The hospital was built at the beginning of the 20th century as the county asylum for Northumberland, housed up to 2000 patients at one time, and closed in 1996. Most of the hospital buildings have been demolished since in favour of new-built houses, but in the Edwardian administration block of the former hospital a gastropub with bed and breakfast accommodation has been established under the name of St. Mary's Inn.

Morpeth Town Association Football Club is a football club based in Morpeth, Northumberland, England. They are currently members of the Northern Premier League Premier Division and play at Craik Park.

St Mary's, also known as St Mary the Virgin, is an ancient Grade I listed Church of England parish church located in Morpeth, Northumberland. The church is to the south of the River Wansbeck in Morpeth, which is an area known as High Church. The oldest remaining parts of the structure belong to the Transitional Early English style of the mid to late 12th century, but the church is mostly in the 14th century style. The church, which was the main Anglican place of worship in the area until the 1840s, has been restored several times after being destroyed by the Scandinavians, Scottish and Cromwellians in the 10th and later centuries.The grave of Emily Wilding Davison, a suffragette who was killed when she fell under the King's horse during The Derby in 1913, lies in St Mary's graveyard. Her gravestone bears the slogan of the Women's Social and Political Union: "Deeds not words".

The town of Morpeth in Northumberland, England, has what is reputed to be the tightest curve (17 chains or 340 metres radius) of any main railway line in Britain. The track turns approximately 98° from a northwesterly to an easterly direction immediately west of Morpeth Station on an otherwise fast section of the East Coast Main Line railway. This was a major factor in three serious derailments between 1969 and 1994. The curve has a permanent speed restriction of 50 miles per hour (80 km/h).

Carlisle Park is a park located on the southern bank of the River Wansbeck in Morpeth, Northumberland. The park has the William Turner Garden, an aviary, a paddling pool, an ancient woodland, tennis courts, several bowling greens and a skate park. The park has one of the only four floral clocks in England, which was restored in 2018. In 2018, a statue of Emily Wilding Davison was erected in Carlisle Park, to commemorate 100 years since women were given the right to vote. The park has been awarded the Green Flag Award, the Love Parks Award in 2017, and 'Best Park' in Northumbria's in bloom competition in 2018.
