Ballingham Railway Bridge

Ballingham railway station is a disused stone built railway station that served the villages of Ballingham and Carey in Herefordshire on the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway. It was situated between Ballingham Railway Bridge and Ballingham Tunnel, two of the most substantial structures on the Great Western Railway line which linked Ross-on-Wye and Hereford. Originally proposed by the owner of Ballingham Court the station had a limited service and was always well used. It closed, along with the line, on 2 November 1964. The station building has been extended and is now a private house. The platform is still in existence.

Fawley railway station is a disused stone built railway station that served the village of King's Caple in Herefordshire on Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway. The station had two platforms each with its own brick built waiting rooms, and a small goods yard. It was situated just south of Fawley Tunnel. It closed, along with the line, on 2 November 1964.The station platforms still remain today, although overgrown.

Ballingham is a small village of about 140 people, increasing to 181 at the 2011 Census in Herefordshire, England, situated in a loop of the River Wye, between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye. It has a parish church dedicated to St. Dubricius which dates from the Anglo-Saxon times. The Parish Church in Whitchurch, also in Herefordshire, between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth also carries his name. The church was refurbished in the late Victorian era, but the 14th century roof was kept. The tower dates from this period also although the nave is 13th century. The old primary school is now the village hall and was extensively refurbished in time for the Millennium in 2000. From 1908 to 1964 the village was served by Ballingham railway station on the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway.

Kings Caple is a village in the largest loop of the River Wye between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye in the English county of Herefordshire. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 331.

Sellack is a village and rural parish in the English county of Herefordshire. It is on the River Wye three and a half miles northwest by north of Ross on Wye. The benefice is united with that of King's Caple. In 2011 the parish had a population of 248.The church of St Tysilio has a 14th-century spire; the pulpit, gallery and communion rails are Jacobean. The east window is filled with 17th-century stained glass in a medieval style. The glass includes the initials R. S. which must relate to Rowland Scudamore of Craddock Court who was buried in the church in January 1631. It is presumed that the glasswork was commissioned by John, Viscount Scudamore, Rowland's great nephew.

The River Wye, a Special Area of Conservation, meanders through the area heading south towards the River Severn and the Wye Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Much of the region is "a picturesque, rural, well-wooded landscape" and there are large areas of old, semi-natural forest, parks and traditional orchards as well as ancient hedgerows and grassland. The land is predominantly used for farming - both arable farming and livestock.

Alan Brooks and Nikolaus Pevsner, in the revised 2012 Herefordshire volume of the Pevsner Buildings of England series, describe it as "the most impressive Victorian church in the county. Designed in an Italian Romanesque style by the architect John Pollard Seddon for the Revd William Poole, vicar of Hentland with Hoarwithy, it is a Grade I listed building.

St Cuthbert's Church is a redundant Anglican church about 1 mile (1.6 km) to the southeast of the village of Holme Lacy, Herefordshire, England. It stands in an isolated position at the end of a lane in a bend of the River Wye. It is designated in the National Heritage List for England as a Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Hoarwithy is a small village in the civil parish of Hentland, and on the River Wye in Herefordshire, England. It is known for its church of St Catherine built in an Italian Romanesque style with detached campanile. The church, on a steep hillside above the village was built to a design by J. P. Seddon by William Poole, the wealthy Vicar of Hentland in the 1870s. The village has one public house, the New Harp Inn, which is adjacent to the River Wye.
