Pen-allt is a village within the parish of King's Caple in Herefordshire, England.

Kings Caple is a village in the largest loop of the River Wye between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye in the English county of Herefordshire. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 331.

Backney Halt railway station was a request stop in the English county of Herefordshire. It was located on the Great Western Railway line linking Ross-on-Wye and Hereford.

Fawley railway station is a disused stone built railway station that served the village of King's Caple in Herefordshire on Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway. The station had two platforms each with its own brick built waiting rooms, and a small goods yard. It was situated just south of Fawley Tunnel. It closed, along with the line, on 2 November 1964.The station platforms still remain today, although overgrown.

Ballingham Railway Bridge (also known as Fawley Viaduct) was a railway bridge over the River Wye, built by the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway. It was built in 1855 and was closed and dismantled in 1965. The bridge was located just south of Ballingham railway station

Peterstow is a village and civil parish in Herefordshire, England, situated about 2 miles (3 km) west of Ross-on-Wye on the A49.

South Herefordshire and Over Severn is a National Character Area that extends from the south, where it is bounded by the Forest of Dean, northwards to Ewyas Harold in southern Herefordshire and to the southern tip of the Malvern Hills.There are "stunning panoramic views" from Garway Hill (366m) in Herefordshire and May Hill (296m) in Gloucestershire across the region. The River Wye, a Special Area of Conservation, meanders through the area heading south towards the River Severn and the Wye Valley is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Much of the region is "a picturesque, rural, well-wooded landscape" and there are large areas of old, semi-natural forest, parks and traditional orchards as well as ancient hedgerows and grassland. The land is predominantly used for farming - both arable farming and livestock.

Bridstow is a village and civil parish in Herefordshire, England, 2 km (1.2 miles) west of Ross-on-Wye and 17 km (10.6 miles) south-east of Hereford. The parish is bounded to the east and south by the River Wye. The A40 road linking the M50 motorway to South Wales runs through the parish, crossing the Wye at Bridstow Bridge. The parish had a population of 906 in the 2011 UK census, and an estimated population of 941 in 2018.

Ballingham railway station is a disused stone built railway station that served the villages of Ballingham and Carey in Herefordshire on the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway. It was situated between Ballingham Railway Bridge and Ballingham Tunnel, two of the most substantial structures on the Great Western Railway line which linked Ross-on-Wye and Hereford. Originally proposed by the owner of Ballingham Court the station had a limited service and was always well used. It closed, along with the line, on 2 November 1964. The station building has been extended and is now a private house. The platform is still in existence.

Ballingham is a small village of about 140 people, increasing to 181 at the 2011 Census in Herefordshire, England, situated in a loop of the River Wye, between Hereford and Ross-on-Wye. It has a parish church dedicated to St. Dubricius which dates from the Anglo-Saxon times. The Parish Church in Whitchurch, also in Herefordshire, between Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth also carries his name. The church was refurbished in the late Victorian era, but the 14th century roof was kept. The tower dates from this period also although the nave is 13th century. The old primary school is now the village hall and was extensively refurbished in time for the Millennium in 2000. From 1908 to 1964 the village was served by Ballingham railway station on the Hereford, Ross and Gloucester Railway.

Wilton is a village in south Herefordshire, England just under a mile west of the market town of Ross-on-Wye. In 1100, Henry I set up three royal manors in Herefordshire, including the manor of Wilton. This included a number of surrounding villages such as Peterstow.Wilton Bridge [1] was a major crossing [2] of the River Wye and was protected by Wilton Castle [3]. Both suffered significant damage during the English Civil War. The bridge has been restored and strengthened and updated with a sundial [4]. Now the village is known for the roundabout where the A49 trunk road joins the A40. Being a convenient staging point it has several hotels.

Foy is a hamlet and civil parish in Herefordshire, England. By road, it is 7 kilometres (4 miles) north of Ross-on-Wye, 23 kilometres (14 miles) south east of Hereford and 27 kilometres (17 miles) south west of Ledbury. Foy, and the further Foy parish hamlet of Ingestone, lies in a loop of the River Wye with the nearest vehicle bridges at Ross and Hoarwithy.
