Kingston Pioneer Cemetery is a heritage-listed cemetery at Bega Road, Kingston, City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. It was built from 1896 to 1941. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 26 May 2000.

Originally called Pleasant Place, it was built in 1887 by the Mayes Family. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.Mayes Cottage is maintained by Logan City Council and staffed by volunteers. It is open to the public for free and tours are available.

The Kingston Butter Factory is a community arts centre in Kingston, Queensland, Australia. It is located adjacent to the Kingston railway station. The factory underpinned the local dairying industry for six decades.It is currently closes for refurbishment. Original plans for an innovation hub were scrapped. The new plans include an outdoor staged area capable of holding 5,000 people. A co-operative and historical society has temporarily relocated off-site.

Woodridge is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland.The district is based in the southern suburbs of Brisbane. It is named for the suburb of Woodridge and also takes in the suburbs of Crestmead, Kingston, Logan Central, Marsden and Slacks Creek. The electorate was first created for the 1977 election. Woodridge has been held by the Labor Party for all but a few months of its existence, when Mike Kaiser briefly served as an independent after being forced to resign from the party for branch-stacking a decade earlier. Since the 1980s, it has usually been one of Labor's safest seats. The only time Labor came close to losing the seat at an election came during Labor's near-wipeout in 2012, in which incumbent Desley Scott saw her majority slashed from a comfortably safe 25.4 percent to a marginal 5.8 percent. Scott retired ahead of the 2015 election. Her replacement, former cabinet minister Cameron Dick, reverted the seat to its usual status as a comfortably safe Labor seat, ballooning the Labor majority to 25.9 percent—the safest seat in the entire legislature.

The City of Logan is a local government area situated within the south of the Brisbane metropolitan area in South East Queensland, Australia. Situated between the City of Brisbane to the north and the City of Gold Coast to the south, the City also borders the Scenic Rim Region, the City of Ipswich, and Redland City LGAs. Logan City is divided into 70 suburbs and 12 divisions; a councillor is elected to each of the latter. New developments are common, particularly those being built at Yarrabilba and Greater Flagstone, while Griffith University has already established a Logan campus in Meadowbrook which is being developed into a specialist area based around health, research and education.In 2016, Luke Smith was elected mayor of Logan. On 2 May 2019, Minister for Local Government Stirling Hinchliffe sacked the Logan City Council after eight of its Councillors and suspended mayor were charged with one count of fraud. The suspended Mayor was also charged with two counts of misconduct. The council was under administration until March 2020 elections.
