Woodridge State High School is a co-educational, state secondary school in Woodridge, a suburb of Logan, Queensland, Australia. The school opened in 1972, and currently has an enrolment of 1200 students (as of May 2016). While the school and suburb is based in the Logan Local Government Area, many of its students are from suburbs in the general Greater Brisbane Area. The current principal is Kathleen Janecek.

The City of Logan is a local government area situated within the south of the Brisbane metropolitan area in South East Queensland, Australia. Situated between the City of Brisbane to the north and the City of Gold Coast to the south, the City also borders the Scenic Rim Region, the City of Ipswich, and Redland City LGAs. Logan City is divided into 70 suburbs and 12 divisions; a councillor is elected to each of the latter. Other populous suburbs include Beenleigh, Rochedale South, Meadowbrook, Springwood, Woodridge, Eagleby and the rural towns of Jimboomba and Logan Village The city facilitates much of the transport between Brisbane and the Gold Coast. Its motorway network is extensive: in the city's north-east, the Logan Motorway joins the Pacific Motorway, while the Mount Lindesay Highway and Sydney–Brisbane rail corridor cross the city along a roughly central north-south axis. New developments are common, particularly those being built at Yarrabilba and Greater Flagstone, while Griffith University has already established a Logan campus in Meadowbrook which is being developed into a specialist area based around health, research and education.In 2016, Luke Smith was elected mayor of Logan. On 2 May 2019, Minister for Local Government Stirling Hinchliffe sacked the Logan City Council after eight of its Councillors and suspended mayor were charged with one count of fraud. The suspended Mayor was also charged with two counts of misconduct. The council was under administration until March 2020 elections.

Groves Christian College is a coeducational independent Christian school based in the suburb of Kingston in the local government area of Logan City, south of the Brisbane metropolitan area in Queensland, Australia. The college consists of two school campuses, with the main campus located on Laughlin Street (70 Laughlin St,) which accommodates students in the Foundation Phase (Kindy – Year 2), Middle Phase (Years 7–9) and Senior Phase (Years 10–12). A second campus is located on Velorum Drive (12 Velorum Drive) which accommodates students in the Intermediate Phase (Years 3–6). Additionally, the college operates an Early Learning Centre at 44 Laughlin Street.

Mayes Cottage is a nineteenth century, heritage-listed house museum located at 20 Mawarra Street, Kingston, City of Logan, Queensland, Australia. Originally called Pleasant Place, it was built in 1887 by the Mayes Family. It was added to the Queensland Heritage Register on 21 October 1992.Mayes Cottage is maintained by Logan City Council and staffed by volunteers. It is open to the public for free and tours are available.
