J. F. Oberlin University (桜美林大学, Ōbirin daigaku) is a private university in Machida, Tokyo, Japan. The university was founded by Yasuzo Shimizu. Its name is derived from that of pastor and philanthropist J. F. Oberlin, and the name also shows the university's historical ties with Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, which the university's founder attended.

The Machida GION Stadium (町田市立陸上競技場, Machida Shiritsu Rikujō Kyōgijō) is a multi-use stadium in Machida, Tokyo, Japan. It is a.k.a “Nozuta Stadium” (野津田競技場, Nozuta Kyōgijō) because it is located in Nozuta Park (野津田公園, Nozuta Kōen). It is currently used mostly for football matches and also sometimes for rugby union and athletics events. This stadium has a seating capacity of 15,489.

Tama Hills (多摩丘陵, Tama-kyūryō) is an area of hills stretching across southwest Tokyo and northeast Kanagawa Prefecture in the Kantō Plain on Honshū, Japan. Its total area is approximately 300 km2. The Tama River marks its northeastern boundary. The Tama Hills border the Sagamino plateau. It straddles the municipalities of Hachiōji, Hino, Tama, Inagi, and Machida cities in Tokyo, and Kawasaki and Yokohama cities in Kanagawa. The area is dotted with remains of Jōmon period hunter-gatherer settlements. The area had been developed extensively since the 1950s to support demand for housing around rapidly expanding Tokyo and Yokohama. The hills are now mostly a patchwork of new residential suburbs and low, forested hills and pockets of remaining farmland. Some fairly large areas of forests still exist in places. Most notable among the housing developments are Tama New Town and Kohoku New Town. The build-up of the area is a key plot element to the Studio Ghibli film Pom Poko. Points of interest in Tama Hills include: Tama Zoological Park: one of the main zoos in Japan. Zoorasia: a new zoo in Asahi ward, Yokohama. Yomiuriland amusement park Nihon Minka-en: an architectural museum and collection of 20 traditional Japanese farmhouses from across Japan, located in Tama ward, Kawasaki.

Tama New Town (多摩ニュータウン, Tama Nyūtaun) is a large residential development, straddling the municipalities of Hachiōji, Tama, Inagi and Machida cities, in Tokyo, Japan. It was designed as a new town in 1965. It is approximately 14 kilometers (8.7 mi) long stretching east-west, and between 1 kilometer (0.62 mi) and 3 km (1.9 mi) wide, located in an expanse of hills known as Tama Hills about 20 kilometers (12 mi) west of the center of the special wards of Tokyo. It currently has a population of about 200,000, making it the largest housing development in Japan.

Opened on December 7, 1990, it hosts attractions, live shows, shopping outlets, and restaurants dedicated to Sanrio characters such as Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Gudetama, and Aggretsuko, in a manner akin to Disney theme parks. Sanrio Puroland attracts over 1.5 million visitors per year, and is ranked among the major theme parks in Japan, along with both Tokyo Disney Resort parks and Fuji-Q Highland. Sanrio also operates Harmonyland, an outdoor theme park in Oita Prefecture.
