Cannington is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Western Australia. The district is based in the inner southern suburbs of Perth. Cannington is a safe Labor seat. Based on the results of the 2005 state election, the district was created with a Labor Party majority of 63.3% to 36.7% versus the Liberal Party.

Cannington Greyhounds is a greyhound racing venue on Station Street and Grey Street near Albany Highway in Cannington, Western Australia. Langford was named after a Mr Langford, a long-serving local councillor of the Shire of Gosnells. The shire submitted the name in September 1966, having chosen it alongside the State Housing Commission; the name was approved in January 1967. It is a working-class residential suburb located approximately 11 km (7 mi) from Perth's central business district. Recently the suburb has been upgraded and redeveloped, especially since it now links to a major highway. The suburb has had its share of social problems having originally had a large proportion of state run housing, much of which has now been renovated and sold to private owners. Langford offers facilities such as several primary schools, several churches, a sporting complex and shopping centre including a delicatessen, pub and chemist.

It is located 12.2 kilometres (7.6 mi) from Perth Station, and is part of the Transperth commuter rail network. It temporarily closed on 20 November 2023 as part of the Victoria Park-Canning Level Crossing Removal Project.

Sevenoaks Senior College is a comprehensive public co-educational high day school, located in Cannington, 10 kilometres (6 mi) southeast of Perth, Western Australia, close to the Cannington railway station. Opened in 2001, the school is a senior secondary campus which accepts Year 11 and Year 12 students from the Perth metropolitan region.
