Hempsted Court

Hempsted is a suburban village and former civil parish, on the edge of Gloucester in the county of Gloucestershire, England. The parish was abolished in 1966 and absorbed into the parish and city of Gloucester. In 1961 the parish had a population of 508.

Gloucester Rowing Club and Gloucester Hartpury is a rowing club on the Gloucester-Purton canal based at Gloucester Boathouse, David Hook Way, Hempsted, Gloucester.

Our Lady's Well (also known as Saint Anne's Well) is a holy well house in Hempsted, Gloucester. It was designated as a Grade I listed building in January 1955.

Meadow Park is a football stadium in Hempsted, Gloucester. It has been home to Gloucester City A.F.C. from 1986 to 2007. It was destroyed by flooding in 2007 and was rebuilt, with the first game being held in September 2020.

Bristol Road in the City of Gloucester dates from the medieval period. It runs between Southgate Street in the north and Quedgeley in the south where it joins the Bath Road and the A38. It contains a number of listed buildings and other notable structures.

Tuffley Rovers F.C. are a football club based in Tuffley in Gloucester, England. The club is playing in the Hellenic League Premier Division, the 9th level of the English football league system. The club is affiliated to the Gloucestershire County FA. The club operates five Saturday adult sides and a Veterans team, playing Sundays. The Club's reserve team also competes in Hellenic League structure, in Division Two (West), whilst there are three sides playing in the Stroud and District League. In addition to the adult set-up, there is a full youth structure, with teams at all ages from U7s to U18s.

High Orchard was an industrial area of the city of Gloucester in England that was developed in the 19th century on the former orchard of the Priory of Llanthony Secunda (1136). The area was closely associated with Gloucester Docks immediately to the north, and served by the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and railway transport. It was the site of Fielding & Platt's Atlas Works and a number of other significant local employers. It was centred on High Orchard Street which ran between Llanthony Road to the north and Baker Street to the south. To the west was Baker's Quay and to the east Southgate Street. Immediately south of Baker Street was the terminus of the High Orchard branch railway line. Most of the area is now the site of the Gloucester Quays shopping centre and associated buildings, with some original buildings surviving as part of the shopping centre and along the canal side.

High Orchard Bridge is a bascule bridge over the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal in High Orchard in the city of Gloucester, England. It was opened in 2008 to carry the newly constructed St Ann Way over the canal. In 2012, Marstons pub company opened a brand new pub on the land next to the bridge and named it after the bridge “The High Orchard” which has since gone on to be one of Gloucester’s busiest pubs.

Podsmead is a district of Gloucester approximately one mile from the historic city centre. With the development of Quedgeley and Kingsway Village, Podsmead was becoming absorbed by the city in the early 21st century. The population of this Gloucester Ward was 2,994 at the 2011 Census. It is close to the hamlet of Hempsted.

Norfolk Buildings is a terrace of grade II listed houses at 73-91 Bristol Road, Gloucester, on the east side between Theresa Street and Alma Place. The buildings were begun in 1836 to a design by the architect Thomas Fulljames in the Greek Revival style for the reverend Samuel Lysons of nearby Hempsted Court. It was originally known as Theresa Place. In 1829 they were described by the local writer George Worrall Counsel as "a very handsome row of elegant houses". The north end of the terrace was the Norfolk House Hotel but is now The Linden Tree pub under the management of Wadworth Brewery. To the rear of the buildings is Alma Terrace. Lysons also developed houses from 1854 in Theresa Street, originally known as Clarence Town, and Alma Place. Lysons Avenue is a short distance to the south.

Llanthony Secunda Priory was a house of Augustinian canons in the parish of Hempsted, Gloucestershire, England, situated about 1/2 a mile south-west of Gloucester Castle in the City of Gloucester. It was founded in 1136 by Miles de Gloucester, 1st Earl of Hereford, a great magnate based in the west of England and the Welsh Marches, hereditary Constable of England and Sheriff of Gloucestershire (who resided at Gloucester Castle), as a secondary house and refuge for the canons of Llanthony Priory in the Vale of Ewyas, within his Lordship of Brecknock in what is now Monmouthshire, Wales. The surviving remains of the Priory were designated as Grade I listed in 1952 and the wider site is a scheduled ancient monument. In 2013 the Llanthony Secunda Priory Trust received funds for restoration work which was completed in August 2018 when it re-opened to the public.

LV 14 Sula is a former Humber Conservancy Board lightvessel built in 1958 by Cook, Welton & Gemmell. Originally named SPURN, she was stationed on the Humber Estuary until decommissioning in 1985. Since 2020 she has been privately owned and moored in Llanthony Wharf at Gloucester Docks to provide floating holiday accommodation under the name LV14 SULA.LV 14 is on the National Historic Ships UK register as "Light Vessel 14 Sula".
