Mason is a city in southwestern Warren County, Ohio, United States, approximately 22 miles (35 km) north of downtown Cincinnati. As of the 2020 census, Mason's population was 34,792.Mason is home to Kings Island amusement park and one of the largest tennis stadiums in the world, the Lindner Family Tennis Center, home of the Western & Southern Open, one of the world's top tennis tournaments for both men and women.

Mason High School is a public high school located in Mason, Texas (USA). It is part of the Mason Independent School District located in central Mason County and classified as a 2A school by the UIL. In 2015, the school was rated "Met Standard" by the Texas Education Agency.

Royalmont Academy is a private PK–12 Catholic school located in Mason, Ohio, United States. The non-diocesan school is located within the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Royalmont is divided into a half-day and all-day preschool, a kindergarten–8th grade division, and the Royalmont Academy Classical Preparatory High School. As of 2017, 106 students are enrolled at Royalmont, including 50 in the high school division, plus 17 in the preschool.

Mars Hill Academy is a private, PK-12, classical Christian school, located in Mason, Ohio. It is a member of the Association of Classical and Christian Schools. It was established in 1996.

Played on the Grizzly Course, this was the 32nd edition of the LPGA Championship. Entering the final round four strokes behind, Pat Bradley birdied the last hole for a 68 to win by a stroke over runner-up Patty Sheehan. It was the fifth of her six major championships, the second of three in 1986, and completed the career grand slam. With the win, Bradley became the first to surpass $2 million in earnings on the LPGA Tour.Defending champion Nancy Lopez did not compete; she gave birth to her second daughter a few days earlier.

Played on the Grizzly Course, this was the 35th edition of the LPGA Championship. Nancy Lopez shot a final round 66 (−6) for 274 (−14), three strokes ahead of runner-up Ayako Okamoto, the third round leader. It was the last of three major titles for Lopez; all came on the Grizzly Course at the LPGA Championship.It was the also the last LPGA Championship at Kings Island, which had hosted twelve consecutive championships since 1978. The Kroger Senior Classic on the Senior PGA Tour replaced it in 1990.

Sherri Turner birdied the final two holes for a final round 67 and won her only major championship, one stroke ahead of runner-up Amy Alcott. Turner began the round six strokes behind Alcott, the 54-hole leader, in a tie for tenth place. It was the first of her three LPGA Tour wins.

The 1981 LPGA Championship was the 27th LPGA Championship, played June 11–14 at Jack Nicklaus Golf Center at Kings Island in Mason, Ohio, a suburb northeast of Cincinnati. Donna Caponi sank a fifteen-foot (4.5 m) birdie putt on the final green to win her second LPGA Championship, a stroke ahead of runners-up Jerilyn Britz and Pat Meyers. It was Caponi's fourth and final major title.
