Browns Island is a former island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta, now connected to the mainland. It is part of San Joaquin County, California. Its coordinates are 37°57′37″N 121°21′21″W, and the United States Geological Survey measured its elevation as 13 ft (4.0 m) in 1995. It appears on a 1913 USGS map of the area; its former location is labeled "Browns Island" on the 2015 edition of the map.

The Smith Canal is a former barge canal in Stockton, California, United States. It currently runs approximately 2.4 miles (3.9 km) east-northeast from the San Joaquin River, although it previously ran about 0.65 miles (1.05 km) further to El Dorado Street. It was built to carry agricultural produce to the Stockton State Hospital. Today the canal is lined with residential homes and docks for pleasure boats. The eastern end is now known as Yosemite Lake.

The Stockton Ordance Depot was a World War II vehicle repair facility, supply depot, and camp for German and Italian prisoners of war. The installation was also used as a USAF radar station and a DLA Defense Distribution Center.

Country Club is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Joaquin County, California, United States. The population was 9,379 at the 2010 census, down from 9,462 at the 2000 census. It comprises an unincorporated "island" within the City of Stockton.

Rough and Ready Island Naval Supply Depot or Ruff and Ready Island is a former United States Navy installation on the San Joaquin River in Stockton, California in San Joaquin County, near the Stockton Channel and was 3 miles (4.8 km) west of Stockton. The Supply Depot was built during World War II as part of the San Joaquin Depot that operated the nearby Tracy Depot Facility and the Sharpe Depot Facility. It was named in honor of President Zachary Taylor.

Shenkel Island is a small island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. It is part of San Joaquin County, California. Its coordinates are 37°58′03″N 121°21′40″W, and the United States Geological Survey gives its elevation as 7 ft (2.1 m).

Clyde W. Wood was a shipbuilding company in Stockton, California. To support the World War 2 demand for ships Clyde W. Wood built: tugboats, and US Army barges. Clyde W. Wood started as a construction company paving asphalt and concrete slabs. In 1941 the company opened a small emergency shipyard. The yard first built barges and then tugs for the Army. After World War 2, the shipyard closed in 1945. The yard was located at 1805 Harbor Street, Stockton, the current location of the Penny Newman Grain Terminal. The shipyard was on the Stockton Channel on the deepwater port on the Stockton Ship Channel of the Pacific Ocean and an inland port located more than seventy nautical miles from the ocean, on the Stockton Channel and San Joaquin River-Stockton Deepwater Shipping Channel (before it joins the Sacramento River to empty into Suisun Bay.

The Calaveras River is a river in the San Joaquin Valley of California. It flows roughly southwest for 51.9 miles (83.5 km) from the confluence of its north and south forks in Calaveras County to its confluence with the San Joaquin River in the city of Stockton.The Spanish word calaveras means "skulls." The river was said to have been named by Spanish explorer Gabriel Moraga in 1806 when he found many skulls of Native Americans along its banks. He believed they had either died of famine or been killed in tribal conflicts over hunting and fishing grounds. Later, human remains were of the native Miwuk people killed by Spanish soldiers after they banded together to rise against Spanish missionaries. The Stanislaus River is named for Estanislau, a coastal Miwuk who escaped from Mission San Jose in the late 1830s. He is reported to have raised a small group of men with crude weapons, hiding in the foothills when the Spanish attacked. The Miwuk were quickly decimated by Spanish gunfire. In 1836, John Marsh, Jose Noriega, and a party of men, went exploring in Northern California. They made camp along a river bed in the evening, and when they woke up the next morning, discovered that they had camped in the midst of a great quantity of skulls and bones. They also gave the river the appropriate name: Calaveras.New Hogan Lake is the only lake on the river. It is formed by New Hogan Dam, which was completed in 1963. The dam was built by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, primarily for flood control. The dam also provides drinking water, water for irrigation, hydroelectricity and recreation, including fishing, camping, swimming and water skiing. The Mormon Slough, a distributary of the Calaveras, splits away about five miles east of Linden, California. In east Stockton, the Stockton Diverting Canal reconnects the Mormon Slough and the Calaveras. Downstream from this flood control channel, the often dry Mormon Slough continues on its southerly path, through downtown, to the Stockton Channel. The Calaveras makes a northerly arc, passing through farmland, orchards, and the University of the Pacific Stockton Campus, then alongside its namesake Brookside district, before flowing into the Deepwater Channel about three miles downriver from the Mormon Slough. Thus much of central Stockton, being completely surrounded by these waterways, is itself one of the many river islands which make up the San Joaquin Delta.

The Haggin Museum is an art museum and local history museum in Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, located in the city's Victory Park. The museum opened in 1931. Its art collection includes works by European painters Jean Béraud, Rosa Bonheur, William-Adolphe Bouguereau, Jean-Léon Gérôme, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir, landscapes by French artists of the Barbizon school, and sculptures by René de Saint-Marceaux, Alfred Barye, and Auguste Rodin. The museum also features a number of works by Hudson River School and California landscape painters, including the largest collection of Albert Bierstadt works in the region, and in 2017 dedicated a gallery to display the largest public collection of original artworks by J. C. Leyendecker.

Amos Alonzo Stagg High School, or Stagg High School, is a public, four-year high school located at 1621 Brookside Road in Stockton, California, United States. It is part of the Stockton Unified School District. The school was dedicated on February 25, 1959, and was named after college football coach Amos Alonzo Stagg.
