Mountain Bogs National Wildlife Refuge

The Botanical Gardens at Asheville (BGA), also known as the Asheville Botanical Gardens, is an independent non-profit botanical garden located on 10 acres at 151 W. T. Weaver Boulevard in Asheville, North Carolina. Dedicated to the study and promotion of the native plants and habitats of the Southern Appalachians, the garden is open daily with free admission for all. Support for maintenance of the garden comes primarily from memberships, donations, and the work of volunteers. The BGA was established in 1961 on eroded, abandoned timberland. Cleanup and trail-building took place from 1962 to 1963, and planting started in 1964 following an overall design by Doan Ogden, a nationally known landscape architect. At that time more than 5,000 plants were transplanted into the garden from private lands and national forests. Although the BGA is located on land belonging to the adjacent University of North Carolina at Asheville, the BGA operates independently and is overseen by a board of directors elected from and by the general membership of the Botanical Gardens. Today the BGA includes more than 650 species of plants native to the southern Appalachian Mountains.

Greenwood Baseball Field is a baseball venue in Asheville, North Carolina, United States. It is home to the UNC Asheville Bulldogs baseball team of the NCAA Division I Big South Conference. The facility opened in 1988. It has a capacity of 300 spectators. It features an electronic scoreboard, dugouts, and a natural grass surface.UNC Asheville also uses McCormick Field, home of the Asheville Tourists minor league baseball team, for a portion of its schedule.

The Justice Center is a 1,100-seat multi-purpose arena in Asheville, North Carolina. It is home to the University of North Carolina at Asheville Bulldogs volleyball team and hosted the 2006 Big South Conference women's basketball tournament and 2008 men's tourney. The Justice Center was replaced by the larger Kimmel Arena for use by UNC Asheville men's and women's basketball teams. The Kimmel Arena was completed in 2011. Men's Basketball Highlights -1969-1971 played to capacity crowds in advancing to NAIA National Playoffs. -1999-2000 completed the 6th largest comeback in NCAA Division I history by overcoming a 26-point deficit and beating Coastal Carolina

Kimmel Arena is the home of the UNC Asheville Bulldogs basketball programs, both men and women's. It is a 3,200-seat arena located on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Asheville in Asheville, North Carolina. Kimmel Arena, named for local businessman Joe Kimmel, is part of the much larger Wilma M. Sherrill Center, which is a 133,500-square-foot (12,400 m2) facility. The arena held its first games, both exhibitions, on November 7, 2011, and formally opened November 13, 2011, as UNC Asheville hosted the University of North Carolina Tar Heels. It replaces the Justice Center as UNCA's home court, but the latter will remain as a training facility and physical education complex.

The Richmond Hill House was a historic home located at 45 Richmond Hill Rd. in Asheville, North Carolina. It was built in 1889 and was designed by James G. Hill in the Queen Anne style. The house sat on a 7.5-acre (3.0 ha) property. It was demolished on February 1, 2012.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

The Richmond Hill Inn was a 25-room Inn located on the Historic Richmond Hill estate in North Carolina. It was a Queen Anne style mansion that was built in 1889 and has now been gutted by the arson fire. It served as the private residence of ambassador and congressman Richmond Pearson. Its name derives from a combination of its builder, Richmond Pearson, and the designer, James G. Hill. At the time of its construction, the mansion was one of the most elegant structures in Asheville, with running water, ten fireplaces, and a pulley-operated baggage elevator. It served as a center for social and political activity for many years during Pearson's life. The Estate is located on French Broad River, surrounded by rolling grounds with gardens.

Fire Station Number 4 in Asheville, North Carolina, also known as Merrimon Avenue Fire Station, is a historic fire station. It was built in 1927, and is a two-story, flat roofed, multi-colored brick building in the Art Deco style. It features a five-story tower with an open-shaft staircase.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.

Broadway Market Building was a historic commercial building located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was built about 1916, and was a two-story building constructed of hand-pressed panel-face concrete block with beveled edges. The building has been demolished. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Whitford G. Smith House is a historic home located at Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina. It was built in 1894, and is a 2+1⁄2-story, irregular plan, Queen Anne style frame dwelling. It features a wraparound porch and a myriad of projecting pyramidal or gable-roof bays. The house was divided into apartments in the 1980s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
