Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is an 874-bed non-profit, tertiary, research and academic medical center located in Charlotte, North Carolina, servicing the southern North Carolina, northern South Carolina, and the Metrolina region. Carolinas Medical Center is one of the region's only academic university-level teaching centers. The hospital is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health. Carolinas Medical Center is affiliated with the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Carolinas Medical Center is also an ACS designated level I trauma center and has a heliport to handle medevac patients. Attached to the medical center is the Levine Children's Hospital, treating infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

Carolinas College of Health Sciences is a non-profit public college focused on the health sciences and is located both online and with a physical campus in Charlotte, North Carolina. The college's roots date back to the 1940s, when Charlotte Memorial Hospital, now Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center (CMC), provided hospital-based nursing and allied health training, forming the roots of Carolinas College. The college is owned by Atrium Health. It offers on-campus and online certificates, associate degrees & bachelor's degrees. The college focuses on educating, engaging and empowering professionals for an evolving healthcare environment. Graduates consistently exceed state and national certification testing benchmarks. The college's current president is Dr. T. Hampton Hopkins.

Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a linear park and stream restoration project in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. When completed it will consist of twenty miles of trails and paved walkways running from Cordelia Park just north of uptown Charlotte, then south through midtown Charlotte, and continuing all the way to the South Carolina state line. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a key part of the Cross Charlotte Trail (XCLT) and a segment in the Carolina Thread Trail, a regionwide network of trails that pass through 15 counties.Greenways are narrow strips of land, planted and managed to provide both human recreation and wildlife habitat. Greenways along streams, such as Little Sugar Creek, improve water quality and help control flooding. There are about 37 miles of developed greenways in Mecklenburg County, of which this is only one.The two urban sections of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway were championed by Central Piedmont Community College president Tony Zeiss and together provide five unbroken miles of paved walkway from East 7th Street southward to Brandywine Road.

Orient Manufacturing Company-Chadwick-Hoskins No. 3, also known as Alpha-Orient Cotton Mill, is a historic cotton mill located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1901–1902, and is a two-story, Romanesque Revival style brick building. It incorporates portions of an original mill building built about 1889. The building has a low, front gable roof with exposed rafters, brick exterior walls, and segmental arched windows. It features a three-story staircase tower with a castellated parapet, tall, narrow windows, and a round arched entrance.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The building had been converted into an apartment complex named Alpha Mill Apartments.

The Cathedral of Saint Patrick is the seat of the Roman Catholic Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States of America. It is the mother church of the Diocese of Charlotte and is the seat of its bishop. In 1987 it was included as a contributing property in the Dilworth Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Midtown Park is a one acre minipark at South Kings Drive and Pearl Park Way in Charlotte, North Carolina. Opened in the spring of 2012, it contains stonework and shade trees surrounding a rectangular lawn and is suitable for weddings as well as performance art and other public events. The park features several sculptures, including a seven foot diameter spherical metallic piece called the Braille Music Box by artists Po Shu Wang and Louise Bertelsen. A unique feature of the sculpture is that it can be enjoyed by the sight-impaired. It contains a mechanism which can translate Braille letters into musical notes, and visitors can move the music box within the sculpture to hear this unique music.The Little Sugar Creek Greenway runs along the western edge of the park and is connected to it by a formal stairway. According to Gwen Cook of Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation, Midtown Park "... is a showpiece along the greenway."

Cherry is a historical African-American neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Adjacent to Uptown Charlotte, it is bounded within Little Sugar Creek, Kenilworth Avenue, John Belk Freeway, East 4th Street, Queens Road, and Henley Place.

James Buchanan Duke House, also known as Lynnwood and White Oaks, is a historic home located in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Charles Christian Hook, with the original section built in 1914 and substantially enlarged in 1919. It is an "H"-shaped Colonial Revival style dwelling consisting of large 2+1⁄2-story blocks connected by a hyphen of the same height. It features two-story tetrastyle porticos on both the south and north gable ends. It was the home of James Buchanan Duke (1856–1925) during the last five years of his life.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Addison Apartments is a historic apartment building located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1926, and is a nine-story, steel frame building sheathed in light brick and cast stone. The Classical Revival style building consists of a two-story base, six-story shaft, and one-story capital with a distinctive stepped pediment. The front facade features a two-story portico with a deck.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Dilworth is a neighborhood of Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States. The neighborhood was Charlotte's first streetcar suburb and was established by Edward Dilworth Latta in the 1890s on 250 acres (1 km²) southwest of the original city limits. It included the Joseph Forsyth Johnson designed Latta Park. Planned largely with a grid pattern similar to the city's original four wards, Dilworth was initially designated the Eighth Ward. Dilworth was born out of the powerful impact that the newly minted streetcar had on Charlotte's original four ward neighborhood. The first streetcars were horse-drawn and later mule-drawn. These precursor streetcars and walking were Charlotteans' primary mode of transportation which kept development close to Trade and Tryon Streets, Charlotte's urban core. The first electric streetcar, Latta's Charlotte Street Railway Company, began operation May 18, 1891, just two days before Dilworth was opened. The original streetcar was replaced just five short years later by Charlotte Electric Railway. Streetcars or trolleys were a popular mode of transportation and made adjacent real estate extremely desirable. The Charlotte Electric Railway trolley became a billboard for the Dilworth community as it prominently displayed "Buy a home in Dilworth for rent money". Trolleys remained critical to Charlotte's development until car No. 85, the last to run, ceased operations in March 1938. This car was used for many purposes over the years and was about to be scrapped when it was located by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Historic Landmarks Commission and meticulously restored as part of a project to bring Trolleys back to Charlotte. Since 1996, Car No. 85 once again proudly shuttles passengers from Southend, a neighborhood to adjacent to Dilworth, to Charlotte's urban center. Sedgefield Park serves as a pedestrian connection to bordering Sedgefield. The streets of Dilworth feature stately, mature oak trees, sidewalks, and houses with front porches. The homes are primarily bungalows — with the occasional Queen Anne — and some larger, two-story Colonial Revivals lining Dilworth Road East and West. East Boulevard serves as the main thoroughfare through the neighborhood. East Boulevard is lined with restaurants, offices and shops, many located in renovated homes. Charlotte's largest hospital, Carolinas Medical Center, is in Dilworth. This 861-bed teaching hospital is the region's only Level 1 trauma center. Much of the neighborhood is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Dilworth Historic District. The district encompasses 1,389 contributing buildings and 1 contributing structure. The district was listed in 1987, with a boundary increase in 2000.

Myers Park is a neighborhood and historic district in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States.Neighborhoods that are near Myers Park include Dilworth and Sedgefield to the west, Eastover to the east, Charlotte center city to the north, and South Park and Foxcroft to the south. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway runs along the western edge of the neighborhood, adjacent to Freedom Park. Though its boundaries originally coincided with the boundaries of the 1,220-acre (4.9 km2) John Spring Myers farm, the neighborhood, by 2008, comprised 2,200 acres (8.9 km2) and had a population of 9,809. Myers Park is bounded by Queens Road to the north, Providence Road to the east, Sharon Road to the south, and Park Road to the west.

Latta Park is a 31-acre urban park at 601 East Park Avenue in the Dilworth neighborhood of Charlotte, North Carolina. It features courts for tennis, volleyball, and basketball, as well as many benches and picnic facilities, playgrounds, walking trails, fitness trails, and soccer fields. Latta Park was designed to be kid-friendly and is one of the five Charlotte parks that feature a "sprayground", a water themed playground where children can splash and jump.Latta Park, as well as the neighborhood it sits in, are both named after Edward Dilworth Latta, the early 20th century Charlotte entrepreneur and real estate developer. The park was designed by the English landscape architect Joseph Forsyth Johnson. Adjacent to Latta Park is the Tom Sykes Recreation Center.Originally, Latta Park covered a much larger area and even included a baseball park, 1/3-mile cycling track, and grounds rented by the Mecklenburg Fair Association.
