Midtown Park (Charlotte, North Carolina)

Cherry is a historical African-American neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina. Adjacent to Uptown Charlotte, it is bounded within Little Sugar Creek, Kenilworth Avenue, John Belk Freeway, East 4th Street, Queens Road, and Henley Place.

Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a linear park and stream restoration project in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. When completed it will consist of twenty miles of trails and paved walkways running from Cordelia Park just north of uptown Charlotte, then south through midtown Charlotte, and continuing all the way to the South Carolina state line. The Little Sugar Creek Greenway is a key part of the Cross Charlotte Trail (XCLT) and a segment in the Carolina Thread Trail, a regionwide network of trails that pass through 15 counties.Greenways are narrow strips of land, planted and managed to provide both human recreation and wildlife habitat. Greenways along streams, such as Little Sugar Creek, improve water quality and help control flooding. There are about 37 miles of developed greenways in Mecklenburg County, of which this is only one.The two urban sections of the Little Sugar Creek Greenway were championed by Central Piedmont Community College president Tony Zeiss and together provide five unbroken miles of paved walkway from East 7th Street southward to Brandywine Road.

Carolinas Medical Center (CMC) is an 874-bed non-profit, tertiary, research and academic medical center located in Charlotte, North Carolina, servicing the southern North Carolina, northern South Carolina, and the Metrolina region. Carolinas Medical Center is one of the region's only academic university-level teaching centers. The hospital is the flagship hospital of Atrium Health. Carolinas Medical Center is affiliated with the Wake Forest School of Medicine. Carolinas Medical Center is also an ACS designated level I trauma center and has a heliport to handle medevac patients. Attached to the medical center is the Levine Children's Hospital, treating infants, children, adolescents, and young adults.

Levine Children's Hospital is a 234-bed pediatric hospital located on the campus of Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Operated by Atrium Health, hospital opened its doors in October 2007. It is named after Leon Levine. The hospital has a Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU that can serve up to 4 open heart surgeries a day. The 20 bed unit is shared with a 10-bed Pediatric ICU. The PICU can overflow to 14 beds for additional patient care. Levine Children's Hospital has its own emergency department that can handle simple bumps and bruises to asthma attacks to pediatric traumas. Levine Children's Hospital also has a café, The X-Ray Café, and a gift shop on the main floor. An outdoor dining area is also available with a nice relaxing view for families, patients, and staff. Each floor of the hospital has its own theme and a relaxation room for families with free coffee and High Definition TV. The Carolina Panthers and Charlotte Knights visit the children often, as do celebrities when in town.

CPCC Central Campus is a streetcar station in Charlotte, North Carolina. The at-grade dual side platforms on Elizabeth Avenue are a stop along the CityLynx Gold Line and serves Central Piedmont Community College.

Marshall Park is a five and a half acre urban park at 800 East Third Street in the Second Ward of Charlotte, North Carolina. It features a large fountain and a lake, an amphitheater, a statue of Martin Luther King Jr., and a Holocaust memorial monument. The park contains large open grassy areas with an unobstructed view of the Charlotte skyline. The Park is named for James B. Marshall, Sr., a former Charlotte city manager. Now owned by Mecklenburg County, the park is part of 17 acres of land the county is looking to sell to a developer. Under a 2018 agreement, Marshall Park would be replaced with a smaller 1.6 acre park.

East Avenue Tabernacle Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, also known as the Great Aunt Stella Center, is a historic Associate Reformed Presbyterian church located at 927 Elizabeth Street in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect James M. McMichael in a Classical Revival style. It consists of a two-story sanctuary, built in 1914, and a four-story educational wing added to the south side of the sanctuary in 1925. The sanctuary has a Greek cross plan with a central octagon with shallow two-story wings that terminate in low parapeted walls. The sanctuary is topped by a copper dome and has a monumental porch with a brick pediment. In 1998 East Avenue Tabernacle merged with the Craig Avenue Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. Ultimately the church became the Craig Avenue Tabernacle A.R.P. Church. Thus ironically through the years the name changed from East to Craig Avenue. The building now houses a community center and charter school.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.

Orient Manufacturing Company-Chadwick-Hoskins No. 3, also known as Alpha-Orient Cotton Mill, is a historic cotton mill located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1901–1902, and is a two-story, Romanesque Revival style brick building. It incorporates portions of an original mill building built about 1889. The building has a low, front gable roof with exposed rafters, brick exterior walls, and segmental arched windows. It features a three-story staircase tower with a castellated parapet, tall, narrow windows, and a round arched entrance.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2006. The building had been converted into an apartment complex named Alpha Mill Apartments.

Addison Apartments is a historic apartment building located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was built in 1926, and is a nine-story, steel frame building sheathed in light brick and cast stone. The Classical Revival style building consists of a two-story base, six-story shaft, and one-story capital with a distinctive stepped pediment. The front facade features a two-story portico with a deck.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Mecklenburg County Courthouse is a historic courthouse building located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Louis H. Asbury and built between 1925 and 1928. It is four-story, rectangular, Neoclassical building sheathed in limestone. The structure is a three-part composition with a decastyle Corinthian order portico on the front facade. The rear elevation has a tetrastyle portico sheltering the three-center bays and Corinthian pilasters.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.
