Burgess Hill ( (listen)) is a town and civil parish in West Sussex, England, close to the border with East Sussex, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, 39 mi (63 km) south of London, 10 mi (16 km) north of Brighton and Hove, and 29 mi (47 km) northeast of the county town, Chichester. It had an area of 3.7 sq mi (9.6 km2) and a population of 30,635 at the 2011 Census, making it the fourth most populous parish in the county (behind Crawley, Worthing and Horsham) and the most populous in the Mid Sussex District. Other nearby towns include Haywards Heath to the northeast and Lewes, the county town of East Sussex, to the southeast. Burgess Hill is just on the West Sussex side of the border dividing the two counties, although parts of the World's End district are across the county boundary in the Lewes district of East Sussex.Burgess Hill is twinned with Schmallenberg in Germany and Abbeville in France.

All Saints Church is the United Reformed Church in Burgess Hill. Originally a Congregational church, it replaced Burgess Hill's first Congregational chapel in Grove Road. It was registered as Junction Road Church. It is a Classical building with a large portico and columns — an unusual style for such a late construction date (1881). John Betjeman thought it was the Burgess Hill's only decent piece of architecture. The exterior was painted in 1986, and the pews were removed in 2001.

Burgess Hill railway station is on the Brighton Main Line, serving the town of Burgess Hill, West Sussex. It is 41 miles 39 chains (66.8 km) down the line from London Bridge via Redhill and is situated between Wivelsfield and Hassocks on the main line. Train services are provided by Southern and Thameslink.

The Burgess Hill Academy (formerly Oakmeeds Community College) is a co-educational secondary school located in central Burgess Hill, West Sussex, England.

St Wilfrid's Church is a Roman Catholic church in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. A former Congregational chapel in Grove Road served as Burgess Hill's Roman Catholic church until St Wilfrid's was built by a local firm in 1940. Frank Brangwyn provided the Stations of the Cross and Joseph Cribb, a pupil of Eric Gill, carved the statue of Saint Wilfrid above the entrance.It is part of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton. It is associated with St Wilfrid's Catholic Primary School.

St John the Evangelist's Church is the Church of England parish church of Burgess Hill, West Sussex, England. It is a Gothic Revival church built of local bricks. It was consecrated in 1863 and was the town's first Church of England church. Since then it has administered several other churches in the town as either mission chapels or daughter churches, but all have either closed or been given their own parishes. The church is a Grade II* Listed Building.

Providence Strict Baptist Chapel is a former Strict Baptist place of worship in the town of Burgess Hill in Mid Sussex, one of seven local government districts in the English county of West Sussex. Founded in 1875 by two prominent residents of the town at a time when Protestant Nonconformism was well established in Sussex, the chapel continued in religious use for over a century until it was sold for conversion to a family home in 1999. The Neoclassical building stands in a conservation area opposite Burgess Hill's main park. English Heritage has listed the building at Grade II for its architectural and historical importance.

Wivelsfield railway station is a railway station on the Brighton Main Line in West Sussex, England. Located in northern Burgess Hill, it primarily serves the town's neighbourhoods of World's End and Sheddingdean. The station is 40 miles 52 chains (65.4 km) down the line from London Bridge via Redhill. It is situated between Haywards Heath and Burgess Hill stations on the main line, and between Haywards Heath and Plumpton stations on the East Coastway line, which branches off just south of the station at Keymer Junction. The station is managed by Southern which is one of two companies serving Wivelsfield, the other one being Thameslink. Until May 2018, Gatwick Express also served the station with a single early-morning service each weekday towards London. Despite its name, the station is not located in Wivelsfield village, which actually lies approximately 2.3 miles (3.7 km) to the northeast, in the Lewes District of East Sussex.

World's End is a neighbourhood located in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. It is thought that the name arrived with the railway – it was here that the 'up' line met the 'down' line during construction of the Brighton Main Line in what is now the World's End area.

Burgess Hill Town Football Club is an English football club currently playing in the Isthmian League South East Division. The club plays its home games at the More Than Tyres Stadium (Leylands Park) in Burgess Hill, West Sussex.

Abbotsford is a settlement in West Sussex, England. Although once of a distinct identity, the name is now rarely used to describe the area and it would more likely be described as the outskirts of Burgess Hill. However, the name still exists in the form of a farm (Little Abbotsford) and on Ordnance Survey maps of the area. Until recently a special school located here was known as Abbotsford School, but has since been renamed as The Bridge.
