Mjölkö

Skärgårdsstad is a locality situated in Österåker Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 1,924 inhabitants in 2010.

Härsbacka mine (Swedish: Härsbacka gruva) is a quartz and feldspar mine. It was once Sweden's foremost quartz mine. The mine was closed in 1946. The quartz and feldspar mined in Härsbacka are the main constituent of a large pegmatite dyke. This pegmatite dyke dips about 60 to 70° to the southeast and has a maximum thickness of 37 m. While quartz and feldspar are mostly mixed, pure zones of either occur. Most feldspar is pink microclineperthite and much lesser amounts are white oligoclase. There are lesser quantities of biotite, garnet, molybdenite and fluorite. About 230,000 tons of quartz have been mined in total from Härsbacka mine. In 1947 the mine was bought by Statens Vattenfallverk to turn it into an oil storage depot and it functioned as such until 1985 when it was emptied. Since 1997 the mine is fully flooded by groundwater. In 2021 the Geological Survey of Sweden was tasked with investigating contaminants in the mine.

Skarpö is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. It is situated in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. The southern and western half of the island comprises the Skarpö urban area. A road bridge and local road connects Skarpö to county road 274 on the adjoining island of Rindö to the south. Rindö is in turn connected to Vaxholm town by the Vaxholmsleden car ferry at its western end, and to Värmdö island by the Oxdjupsleden car ferry at its eastern end. To the west, Skarpö is separated from the island of Stegesund by the very narrow Stegesundet strait, which is used by Waxholmsbolaget ships, and other local ferries, that serve the outer archipelago. Some of these call at Skarpöborg pier on the Skarpö shore of the Stegesundet strait, providing a connection to Vaxholm town and Stockholm city.

Rindö is an urban area situated on the island of Rindö in Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. Until 2015 it was known as Oskar-Fredriksborg, a name it took from the nearby Oskar-Fredriksborg Fortress.In 2020, the urban area had an area of 186 hectares (460 acres) and a population of 1,390.

Skarpö is an urban area comprising the southern and western half of the island of Skarpö in Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden.In 2020, the urban area had an area of 103 hectares (250 acres) and a population of 257.

Rindö is an island in the central area of Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago, some 21 kilometres (13 mi) north-east of the city of Stockholm. From an administrative perspective, it is located in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. The island is about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) long and 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) wide and has an area of 4.46 square kilometres (1.72 sq mi). There are two localities on the island, Rindö (formerly known as Oskar-Fredriksborg) and Rindöby.The island is connected to Vaxholm town by the Vaxholmsleden car ferry at its western end, and to Värmdö island by the Oxdjupsleden car ferry at its eastern end. County road 274 connects the two, as does Storstockholms Lokaltrafik bus route 688, with some buses crossing on the ferry to Vaxholm. There is a bridge connection to the smaller adjacent Skarpö island.Situated between the two main shipping routes from the open sea into Stockholm, the Kodjupet strait to the west and the Oxdjupet strait to the east, Rindö has long been an important defensive site. Whilst the Kodjupet strait was principally protected by the Vaxholm Fortress built on an islet within the channel, it was also defended by the Rindö redount on Rindö. At the other end of the island, the Byviksfortet and the Oskar-Fredriksborg Fortress protected the Oxdjupet strait.

Stegesundet is a very narrow strait in Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago. It separates the islands of Stegesund-Hästholmen (to the west) and Skarpö (to the east), and provides a shorter route than the section of the Kodjupet strait that passes to the west of Stegesund-Hästholmen. The strait is too restricted for most commercial shipping, but is used by pleasure craft, Waxholmsbolaget ships, and other local ferries. Some of the Waxholmsbolaget ships and local ferries call at Stegesund and Skarpöborg piers on either side of the strait.

Roslagen is a coastal area in eastern Uppland in Sweden. It constitutes the northern part of the Stockholm archipelago and extends north along the coast. The old designation for the area was Roden. In the Viking Age, Roden was divided into skeppslag ("ship districts"), each responsible for supplying ships and crews when the king issued a call to the leidang, the conscript navy system. Unlike the inland hundreds, Roden lay outside the regular division of the Uppland folklands. It mainly covered the coastal areas of Tiundaland and Attundaland, sometimes reaching into Gästrikland, and in some sources even included islands further south such as Lidingö and Värmdö. Over time, especially from the 1500s onward, the term Roslagen came to be used more generally for the entire Uppland coast and even some inland areas. A person from Roslagen is called a Rospigg, a modernized form of rosbyggiar ("inhabitant of Roden"). The area also gives its name to the endangered domesticated Roslag sheep, which originated from the area centuries ago.

Bammarboda is a locality situated in Österåker Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden with 249 inhabitants in 2010.

Stegesund-Hästholmen is an island, sometimes considered a pair of islands, in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. Stegesund-Hästholmen is situated in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. Hästholmen (to the west) and Stegesund (to the east) are separated by an artificial channel, constructed in 1899, and connected by a bridge. The island has a permanent population of about 20 people. To the north, west and south, Stegesund-Hästholmen is separated from the islands of Resarö, Edholma and Vaxön by the winding northern section of the Kodjupet strait, whilst to the east it is separated from the island of Skarpö by the much narrower Stegesundet strait. The artificial channel between Stegesund and Hästholmen is only navigable by very small boats, such as dinghies and canoes. Stegesund-Hästholmen has no road connection to the mainland or other islands. It is served throughout the year by passenger ships of the Waxholmsbolaget, which call at either the Vikingsborg pier (on Hästholmen) or the Stegesund pier (on Stegesund), providing a connection to Vaxholm town and Stockholm city.

The Vaxholm Coastal Artillery Regiment (Swedish: Vaxholms kustartilleriregemente), designation KA 1, was a Swedish Navy coastal artillery regiment of the Swedish Armed Forces which operated between 1902 and 2000. The unit was based at Rindö in the Stockholm archipelago in Uppland.

Ramsö is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. Rindö island lies to its north, Tynningö island to its south-west, Skogsön island to its south-east, and the Oxdjupet strait to its east. Administratively, it is in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. The island consists of three parts: Ramsö itself, Ramsöholm and Ramsöberg. Ramsöholm was separate from Ramsö until the 18th century, but is now joined to the rest of the island after the channel between the two was infilled. Ramsöberg began to be built up in the 1960s.Ramsö has no road connection to the mainland or other islands. It is served throughout the year by passenger ships of the Waxholmsbolaget, which call at the Ramsö pier and/or the Ramsöberg pier, providing a connection to Vaxholm town and Stockholm city.The island is the home to three shipyards: Ramsövarvet, Abrahamsson and Börjesson's shipyard and Blomberg's shipyard.
